By James Gwati- The Zimbabwe Republic Police has embarked on mass recruitment of police officers ahead of the 2023 elections.

The police force has also set the completion of a five-kilometre run as one of the initial interview processes.

ZRP is advertising this mass recruitment in the state media.

Observers have however viewed this recruitment as a political move aimed at assisting Zanu PF to rig the forthcoming elections.

Zanu PF has a history of using the police and soldiers to intimidate rural voters every time the country holds national elections.
