Citizens Resist 2030 Agenda

By A Correspondent

In a bold move, citizens leaders Gift Ostallos Siziba and Amos Chibaya led a consultation programme on Sunday to resist President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s third term agenda. This comes as Mnangagwa’s supporters push for the extension of his term of office beyond constitutional limits, sparking widespread concern among citizens ¹.

According to Siziba, citizens have a crucial role to play in defending the constitution and upholding democratic principles. He emphasized the importance of galvanizing the political base for the Democratic alternative, led by President Chamisa, and expressed gratitude to the people of Manicaland for their unwavering commitment to democracy.

The resistance to Mnangagwa’s 2030 agenda is gaining momentum, with many Zimbabweans taking a stand against the proposed constitutional amendments. Former Zanu PF political commissar and minister Saviour Kasukuwere has also joined the chorus, urging citizens to unite against Mnangagwa’s alleged plan to extend his presidency beyond the constitutional limit of 2028 ².

Kasukuwere described the plan as a clear attempt at state capture and power consolidation for self-serving ends, warning that amending the constitution to extend Mnangagwa’s tenure represents a calculated assault on governance principles.

As the debate rages on, it is clear that Zimbabweans are determined to defend their constitution and uphold democratic principles. The resistance to the 2030 agenda is a testament to the power of citizen activism and the importance of holding leaders accountable.

Tawanda Nyambirai Lands Top Troubled EcoCash Job

By Business Reporter – Renowned commercial lawyer and businessman Tawanda Nyambirai has been appointed the new Chief Executive of the troubled EcoCash Holdings Zimbabwe Limited (EHZL).

Nyambirai takes over from Eddie Chibi, who was, together with seven top executives, fired amid mounting dissatisfaction over the company’s declining service quality.

Chibi, who has served as CEO since 2018

Nyambirai, who played a crucial role in the early days of Econet in the 1990s as a legal advisor and entrepreneur, has also been involved with Steward Bank, a subsidiary of EcoCash, since acquiring it in 2013.

Another high-profile departure is Darlington Mandivenga, a key figure in the rapid growth of EcoCash, who also stepped down.

Mandivenga was instrumental in establishing EcoCash as Zimbabwe’s leading mobile money service.

Eight directors have resigned, including Board Chairperson Sherree Gladys Shereni, while ten new directors have been appointed in a sweeping restructuring of EHZL’s leadership.

In a notice to shareholders dated 14 February 2025 and signed by Group Company Secretary C.R. Daniels, EcoCash Holdings announced that Shereni had stepped down. Other directors who have resigned include:

  • Sherree Gladys Shereni (Chairperson, Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Zienzile Dillon (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Hardy Pemhiwa (Non-Executive Director)
  • Darlington T. Mandivenga (Non-Executive Director)
  • Michael L. Bennett (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Christopher Maswi (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Eddie Chibi (Executive Director)
  • Theresa Nyemba (Executive Director)

EcoCash expressed gratitude for the contributions of the outgoing board members and announced that Dominic Musengi and Elizabeth T. Masiyiwa will remain on the board.

The newly appointed directors include:

  • Titus Murefu (Chairperson, Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Rugare Chidembo (Non-Executive Director)
  • Roy Chimanikire (Non-Executive Director)
  • Nadine Gabi Levy (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Evaristo Mudhikwa (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Morgen Mufowo (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • James Andrew Kufakunesu Mushore (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • David Alexander Rhodes (Independent Non-Executive Director)
  • Tawanda Nyambirai (Group Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director)
  • Hazvinei Kapfunde (Banking Operations Director, Executive Director)

The leadership overhaul comes at a time when Econet Wireless, Zimbabwe’s largest telecommunications provider, faces intense scrutiny over declining service quality, exorbitant costs, and frequent system failures—particularly with EcoCash, the country’s most widely used mobile money platform.

On February 5, 2025, thousands of Econet subscribers were left stranded after EcoCash crashed, disrupting financial transactions for individuals and businesses.

The outage, lasting from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, was the latest in a series of system failures that have frustrated customers.

Econet acknowledged the failure in a statement but insisted the issue had been resolved:

“We experienced some issues on the platforms that enable our subscribers to make calls, use data, or carry out EcoCash transactions, resulting in some of our customers being unable to use the services for about an hour and a half. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”

However, many Zimbabweans remain unconvinced, as EcoCash has long been plagued by persistent downtime, failed transactions, and delays in processing payments.

The service’s unreliability is especially concerning given that mobile money plays a crucial role in Zimbabwe’s cash-strapped economy.

Beyond EcoCash’s operational failures, Econet’s mobile network has also been criticised for slow internet speeds, dropped calls, and high tariffs.

Zimbabweans pay some of the highest mobile data and voice call rates in the region, yet they continue to endure subpar service.

Frequent power cuts and inadequate investment in infrastructure have exacerbated the problem, while the company continues to hike prices under the guise of inflationary adjustments.

The timing of these service failures is particularly damaging for Econet, as competition in Zimbabwe’s telecom sector is heating up with the anticipated arrival of Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet provider.

Starlink is expected to revolutionise Zimbabwe’s digital landscape by offering high-speed, reliable internet access, especially in remote areas where traditional network providers struggle.

Unlike Econet’s reliance on terrestrial towers, Starlink’s satellite-based service provides a more stable connection and could offer an affordable alternative to Econet’s expensive and unreliable internet services.

The growing frustration with Econet has fueled anticipation for Starlink’s launch, with many consumers eager for an alternative to Zimbabwe’s telecom monopoly.

The pressure is now on Econet to improve its services, lower costs, and enhance reliability—or risk losing customers to a new, more efficient competitor.

Chamuka slams ZRP for targeting Geza, says police must resist political manipulation

By A Correspondent| People’s Unity Party (PUP) leader Herbert Chamuka has strongly condemned the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for launching a manhunt for war veteran and Zanu PF Central Committee member, Blessed Geza, over four criminal charges, including undermining the authority of the President.

Chamuka accused the police of being used as a political weapon by the ruling Zanu PF, stating that the allegations against Geza only resurfaced after his recent press conference, where he openly criticised President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s alleged bid for a third term in office, calling it unconstitutional.

“The timing of these charges is highly suspicious. Where were these allegations all along? They are only being brought up now because Geza has spoken out against the unconstitutional extension of Mnangagwa’s rule.”

“The police should refuse to be used to fight political disputes within Zanu PF,” Chamuka said.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi recently released a statement, saying the police were searching for Geza, also known as “Bombshell,” and warned that anyone assisting him in evading arrest would also face prosecution.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is seeking information on the location and subsequent questioning of a suspect, Blessed Geza Runesu, alias Bombshell.

“The suspect is facing four counts of criminal charges as outlined; theft allegations as defined in Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9 23,” said Comm Nyathi.

Chamuka, however, argued that Geza and Mnangagwa, both veterans of the liberation struggle, should resolve their differences in a dignified manner rather than resorting to punitive legal action.

“Mnangagwa and Geza know each other from the liberation struggle.

“Instead of humiliating an old comrade, the President should initiate a respectful counselling process.

“Geza is elderly, and throwing him into Zimbabwe’s inhumane jails will only jeopardise his health. They should counsel him, not jail him,” Chamuka stated.

The PUP leader called for an end to the weaponisation of state institutions against political opponents and urged the police to maintain professionalism.

“The ZRP should serve the people, not political interests. They must refuse to be used as enforcers of internal Zanu PF conflicts,” Chamuka said.

Basic Safety Tips On The Road…

Driving demands full attention and focus. Even a momentary lapse in concentration can result in accidents, injuries, and fatalities. With numerous distractions in today’s world, it’s crucial to understand which activities compromise road safety. Below are the top 10 distractions while driving that one should avoid to ensure a safe journey:

  1. Texting While Driving
Texting while driving is one of the most dangerous forms of distracted driving. It requires taking your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel, and your focus away from the task of driving. A few seconds of inattention can lead to catastrophic consequences.
  2. Using the GPS
While GPS devices are incredibly helpful, they can be distracting if you are trying to set or adjust them while driving. Taking your eyes off the road or fumbling with the device can significantly reduce your reaction time to potential hazards. It’s always safer to set your route before starting or pull over to make adjustments.
  3. Talking to Passengers
Engaging in lively conversations with passengers can divert your attention from the road. While it’s natural to talk while driving, it’s important to stay mindful of the road conditions and avoid discussions that require too much mental focus or laughter that could lead to momentary distractions.
  4. Dealing with Children or Pets
Children and pets in the car can be incredibly distracting, especially if they are misbehaving or require attention. Reaching into the back seat, trying to calm a pet, or dealing with kids in distress can take your focus off driving. Ensure that children and pets are safely secured before you start driving.
  5. Adjusting Audio or Climate Controls
Reaching for the radio, adjusting the volume, or changing the temperature settings on the climate control system while driving takes your hands off the wheel and your eyes off the road. Set your preferences before you begin driving, or wait until you are safely stopped.
  6. Eating and Drinking
Many drivers eat or drink while commuting, but this multitasking can significantly impair your ability to react in an emergency. Eating a sandwich, sipping coffee, or juggling snacks can cause spills, messes, and distractions that reduce focus on the road.
  7. Daydreaming/Auto-Pilot
Sometimes drivers enter a “zoned-out” or “auto-pilot” state, especially on familiar routes. While this might seem harmless, it reduces your ability to anticipate or react to sudden changes in traffic or road conditions. Always stay mentally engaged when driving, even on well-known routes.
  8. Applying Makeup or Other Grooming
Many drivers may attempt to apply makeup, comb their hair, or engage in other grooming activities while driving. This is a highly distracting behavior, requiring both hands and full attention, making it an unsafe practice. Leave grooming for when you’re parked.
  9. Smoking
Lighting a cigarette, managing the ashtray, or trying to smoke while driving can divert attention from the road. Not only is this distracting, but it also poses a fire risk if something goes wrong while you’re handling the cigarette or lighter.
  10. Emotions
Driving while upset, angry, or distracted by emotional stress can cloud your judgment and decision-making. Emotional turbulence can lead to poor reactions, risky driving decisions, or even road rage. If you’re feeling emotionally unstable, it’s better to pause, take a breath, and regain composure before getting behind the wheel.

Conclusion
Driving is a serious responsibility that requires full attention and focus. Every distraction, no matter how small, can contribute to an accident. Being mindful of these common distractions and avoiding them can help keep you, your passengers, and other road users safe. Stay focused, stay alert, and drive responsibly!

RBZ Hires Dormant Company With Empty-Bank-Account To Audit Nation’s Gold Reserves

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Hires Dormant Company to Audit Gold Reserves—Raising Alarming Questions About Transparency

Harare, Zimbabwe – Thursday, February 15, 2025

By Business Reporter | ZimEye | The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has hired BDO International Limited, a company registered as dormant with zero bank balance, to audit the country’s gold reserves—a move that raises serious concerns about transparency, credibility, and accountability in light of the recent Gold Mafia documentary revelations.

The docs

A Dubious Choice for a High-Stakes Audit.

The RBZ announcement

https://x.com/zimeye/status/1890346520064503815?s=46

https://x.com/zimeye/status/1890346520064503815?s=46

Documents obtained by ZimEye reveal that BDO International Limited, the firm tasked with auditing Zimbabwe’s gold reserves, is listed as a dormant company with no assets or reserves. According to its financial filings for the year ending December 2023, the company has been inactive and has no financial activity—raising the question: Why would the RBZ entrust a multi-billion-dollar gold reserve audit to a company with no financial standing?

The BDO Zimbabwe auditor’s report, dated December 31, 2024, states that the bank held 85,843.38 ounces (2.67 tonnes) of gold valued at US$223,784,913.34 (ZWL$ 773,315,086.82). However, the fact that this audit was conducted by a firm with no financial track record raises suspicions about the integrity of the report.

A Government Attempt to Cover Up Gold Looting?

This revelation comes in the wake of the Gold Mafia documentary, which exposed the looting and smuggling of billions in gold reserves to the UAE and other illicit channels. The hiring of a financially inactive firm suggests that the Zimbabwean government may be using a weak or compromised auditor to rubber-stamp figures and restore credibility after the corruption scandal.

Key Questions That Demand Answers
1. Why did the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe hire a dormant company with no financial activity to audit the nation’s gold reserves?
2. How was this auditor selected, and was there a transparent bidding process?
3. Is this part of a wider attempt to sanitize and manipulate financial reports following the damning corruption allegations?
4. How credible are the gold reserve figures, given the auditor’s lack of operational capacity?
5. Will the Zimbabwean government allow an independent, internationally recognized auditing firm to verify the nation’s gold holdings?

Implications for Zimbabwe’s Financial Credibility

The RBZ’s decision to use a questionable auditing firm could have severe consequences for Zimbabwe’s already fragile economy. With widespread corruption, hyperinflation, and dwindling investor confidence, any hint of financial misrepresentation could further isolate Zimbabwe from global financial institutions and deter potential investors.

Economists and financial analysts warn that if Zimbabwe is found to be manipulating its gold reserves, it could face sanctions, trade restrictions, and exclusion from international financial markets.

Public Outrage and Calls for Independent Oversight

Civil society groups and opposition leaders have already expressed outrage, calling for an independent forensic audit of Zimbabwe’s gold reserves by internationally recognized firms such as Deloitte, PwC, or KPMG.

“This is yet another blatant attempt by the Zimbabwean government to manipulate financial data and cover up corruption,” said an opposition spokesperson. “If the government has nothing to hide, why not bring in a credible international auditing firm?”

Conclusion: Another Scandal in the Making?

With Zimbabwe’s economy at a critical juncture, the hiring of a dormant company with zero bank balance to audit multi-billion-dollar gold reserves reeks of a deliberate cover-up. As calls for transparency grow louder, the government must either justify its decision or submit to a truly independent audit—or risk further damage to Zimbabwe’s already battered reputation.

The RBZ was reached for comment.

For now, questions remain unanswered, and Zimbabweans deserve the truth about their nation’s gold reserves.

Three Killed Near Mnangagwa Kwekwe Farm

By Crime and Courts Reporter- Three illegal gold miners died on Thursday after plunging into a disused mine shaft at Yellowsnake 37 Mine in Kwekwe, police have confirmed.

The victims were reportedly using a cage lift to access the mine when the hook fastening the rope to the cage snapped as they were exiting the shaft.

The cage plummeted down the shaft, overturned, and crushed the miners.

Their bodies were later retrieved and taken to Kwekwe General Hospital for post-mortem.

Yellowsnake 37 Mine is notorious for being a hotspot of illegal gold mining activities involving powerful political elites and violent machete gangs, commonly known as ‘Mashurugwi.’

These criminal syndicates, many of which are linked to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inner circle, operate with impunity, often using brute force to control goldfields in the Midlands province.

The mine’s proximity to President Mnangagwa’s Precable Farm in Kwekwe further raises questions about the deep entanglement of high-ranking political figures in illicit mining operations.

Precable Farm has long been suspected of being a hub for gold processing and distribution, with allegations that mining proceeds contribute to a shadowy patronage system benefiting state and ruling party officials.

Owen ‘Mudha’ Ncube, a former State Security Minister and a close ally of Mnangagwa, has been accused of masterminding and protecting illegal gold mining syndicates in the Midlands province.

Ncube, who hails from Kwekwe, has been repeatedly implicated in using security forces and machete gangs to control mining concessions and intimidate rivals.

Reports indicate that these gangs have been involved in violent clashes, murders, and the forced displacement of local miners.

Illegal gold mining has been on the rise in Zimbabwe, driven by a collapsing economy and lax law enforcement.

While small-scale and artisanal miners struggle under harsh conditions, politically connected syndicates dominate the lucrative gold trade, often smuggling the precious metal out of the country for personal enrichment.

The government’s selective application of the law has allowed these illicit networks to flourish, further entrenching corruption and lawlessness in the mining sector.

Podium Collapses at Mnangagwa War Veterans Support Programme Launch

By A Correspondent

In a dramatic turn of events, a podium collapsed during the launch of the War Veterans Support Programme on Saturday in Manicaland Province, casting a shadow over the occasion.

The launch, part of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ongoing political initiatives, was marred by this unfortunate incident, drawing attention to growing discontent among some party members.

A Zanu PF source opposed to President Mnangagwa’s third-term agenda shared their frustration, stating:

“Podium yadonha ku Warvet Launch on Saturday in Manicaland Province” – referring to the unexpected collapse of the podium during the event.

The source further expressed discontent with the conditions surrounding the event, emphasizing:

“Dzorerai mweya wemagamba mundima, maswedera pedo neku Chimoio apa muchiziva kuti pa Chimoio hapana kana toilet zvayo apa vanopachengeta havana kana allowance” – calling attention to the lack of basic amenities at Chimoio, and how those tasked with safeguarding the area receive no allowances.

In a powerful statement, the source concluded:
“Midzimu yenyika inotsamwa varume,” suggesting that the spirits of the land are angered by the neglect of the veterans and their struggles.

Mnangagwa Revives Rigged Mozambique Election Memories

Mnangagwa with Daniel Chapo

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia  Southern African Development Community (SADC) Chairperson and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa met with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo in Addis Ababa over the weekend, a meeting that has reignited discussions about Zimbabwe’s role in Mozambique’s disputed October 9 elections.

The meeting, described as a courtesy call, comes amid growing concerns over Mnangagwa’s involvement in assisting Mozambique’s ruling Frelimo party in what opposition groups and observers have called a “blatantly rigged” electoral process.

The October elections, which saw Frelimo maintain its grip on power, were marred by allegations of voter suppression, ballot stuffing, and intimidation of opposition candidates and activists.

A Rigged Election?

Mozambique’s October 9 elections saw President Daniel Chapo’s Frelimo party retain control in a manner reminiscent of past elections, where opposition parties have struggled against state-sponsored repression. Reports from independent observers, opposition parties, and international watchdogs detailed widespread electoral fraud, including irregularities invoter registration, restricted access for opposition campaigns, and vote tally manipulation in favor of Frelimo.

Opposition party Renamo accused the government of deploying state security forces to intimidate voters and suppress dissenting voices, with some polling stations in opposition strongholds reportedly being shut down or manipulated to ensure a Frelimo victory.

Mnangagwa’s Hand in Mozambique’s Electoral Manipulations

President Mnangagwa’s involvement in Mozambique’s electoral process has been a subject of intense scrutiny.Zimbabwe, under Mnangagwa, has become a key player in sustaining autocratic regimes across Southern Africa, using tactics refined over decades under Zanu PF rule.

In the lead-up to Mozambique’s elections, intelligence sources reported that Mnangagwa’s government provided strategic support to Frelimo, drawing from Zimbabwe’s own playbook of electoral manipulation. This included:

  • Security and Intelligence Support: Zimbabwe’s security apparatus reportedly provided tactical guidance to Frelimo’s election strategy, including crowd control measures and suppression tactics to weaken opposition movements.
  • Media and Propaganda Assistance: Zimbabwean state media operatives were allegedly involved in providing training to Mozambican state broadcasters, ensuring that pro-Frelimo narratives dominated the airwaves while opposition parties were sidelined.
  • Electoral Commission Manipulation: Just as in Zimbabwe’s own elections, Mnangagwa’s administration reportedly advised on how to infiltrate and control Mozambique’s electoral commission, ensuring a favorableoutcome for Frelimo.

SADC’s Complicity in Electoral Fraud

Mnangagwa’s role as SADC Chairperson has added another layer of complexity to the region’s political dynamics. His leadership has been marked by a reluctance to condemn fraudulent elections, instead working to legitimize disputed electoral processes to protect the status quo.

During Zimbabwe’s own disputed 2023 elections, Mnangagwa faced allegations of rigging and suppressing opposition leader Nelson Chamisa’s Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Despite reports of electoral malpractice from the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM), Mnangagwa dismissed the concerns and continued his rule unchallenged.

The same approach appears to be unfolding in Mozambique, with Mnangagwa using his influence as SADC Chair to shield Frelimo from scrutiny. SADC’s official reports on the Mozambican elections have been notably muted, avoiding strong condemnation despite overwhelming evidence of fraud.

Regional Implications and the Future of Democracy

The meeting between Mnangagwa and Chapo in Addis Ababa symbolizes the deepening alliance between autocratic leaders in Southern Africa. By backing each other in rigged elections, leaders like Mnangagwa and Chapo are effectively eroding democratic processes in the region, making it increasingly difficult for opposition parties to compete on a level playing field.

For Mozambique, the aftermath of the October 9 elections remains uncertain, with opposition groups vowing to challenge the results through legal and political means. However, with Mnangagwa and SADC’s backing, Frelimo’s grip on power appears secure for now.

As Zimbabwe continues to play a pivotal role in propping up authoritarian regimes across the region, the question remains: How long can the people of Southern Africa endure a cycle of rigged elections, state repression, and democratic backsliding before a real change takes place?

For now, Mnangagwa’s meeting with Chapo in Addis Ababa serves as yet another reminder that the region’s leaders are more invested in preserving their power than upholding the democratic values they claim to represent.

Mnangagwa Car Kills Traditional Leader

By A Correspondent

A tragic road accident in Chiredzi on Friday claimed the lives of newly appointed traditional leader Hatisani Mabasa, 82, and his son.

They were travelling in a government-allocated vehicle, which was part of President Mnangagwa’s efforts to enhance the welfare of traditional leaders.

The vehicle was being driven by a driver at the time of the accident.

Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.

Chiredzi District Development Coordinator Lovemore Chisema confirmed the incident.

Stay Away from ZANU Internal Fights, They Won’t Deliver Any Change to the Ordinary Citizen, Warns Malunga

Former OSISA Director Warns Zimbabweans: “Stay Away from Internal Fights”

Harare, Zimbabwe – A warning from former OSISA Director Siphosami Malunga has sparked intense debate after he cautioned Zimbabweans against engaging in ZANU-PF factional battles, arguing that such conflicts have historically failed to bring meaningful change to ordinary citizens.

“You would wish that Zimbabweans learned from Tekere to Zvobgo to Gamatox to G40 to Lacoste. Zanu PF factionalism will not deliver any change to the ordinary citizen. It will only reconfigure power & the predatory elite in Zanu, the army & business. Stay away from internal fights.”

Malunga’s statement, posted on social media, quickly gained traction, drawing thousands of responses from citizens, opposition supporters, and political analysts. While some agreed with his call for disengagement, others argued that fighting within ZANU-PF remains a necessary path to political change, particularly as concerns grow over President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s potential hold on power until 2030.

Public Reaction: A Divided Nation

One of the most pressing counterarguments came from Ndaba Ndabezitha (@PlainHard), who questioned what alternative course of action Malunga was suggesting:

“My learned brother, we stay away and what’s the way forward? The man has 2030 almost in his pocket. He has to be stopped. Is this not the moment?”

Others, like Ruyedzo Mutizwa (@TOITASEYI), dismissed Malunga’s stance, asserting that Zimbabweans must confront the ruling party head-on.

“Where are the external fights? We are warriors by nature (dogs of war) & will court any battle. As of now, the battlefield is in @ZANUPF_Official & we will pick a side & fight. The opposition is dead. No to 2030 nonsense & well done!”

However, many commentators supported Malunga’s position, emphasizing that ZANU-PF factional struggles have historically led to a mere reshuffling of power among elites, rather than meaningful governance reforms.

Eddie Mahembe, PhD (@eddiem…) argued that ordinary Zimbabweans should not waste energy on internal ZANU-PF fights:

“The generality of Zimbabweans should NOT be involved in the Zanu PF factional fights, especially on who is better between ED and Chiwenga. However, given the current discussion around amendments to the national constitution, I think we should mobilize against that.”

Factional Battles or Meaningful Change?

Malunga’s warning touches on a broader question: whether ZANU-PF infighting presents an opportunity for political transition or merely maintains the status quo. Historically, factional struggles—such as the ousting of former President Robert Mugabe in 2017—have led to leadership changes without fundamentally addressing corruption, governance failures, or economic decline.

His critics argue that with Zimbabwe’s opposition weakened and political institutions compromised, engaging in these internal struggles may be the only remaining path to change.

Malunga Responds to Backlash

Facing a wave of criticism, Malunga clarified his stance, emphasizing that his intention was not to dictate political choices but to caution against repeating historical mistakes.

“Everyone is free to do what works for them. Just as we are free to warn as we warned in 2017 and many years prior.”

In another response, he reiterated:

“My opinion is just my opinion. I shared a similar one in 2017 and many years prior. It should not stop you from doing what you want. Please, go ahead.”

Looking Ahead: 2030 and Beyond

Malunga’s remarks come at a time when speculation is mounting over President Mnangagwa’s long-term political plans, with many believing he aims to extend his rule until at least 2030.

The heated responses to his warning reveal a growing frustration among Zimbabweans, torn between skepticism of ZANU-PF factionalism and a desire to actively resist the current administration.

As Zimbabwe approaches another critical period in its political evolution, the question remains: Will citizens heed Malunga’s advice and avoid internal power struggles, or will they see factional conflicts as the only available avenue for resistance?

Mnangagwa’s Fall Imminent

By Munacho Gwamanda-Zanu PF Central Committee member, and out-spoken war veteran Blessed Geza said he would soon be announcing the next action ‘we’ are taking against President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Geza, who has emerged as one of the ruling party’s most vocal internal critics, has become a thorn in Mnangagwa’s side, openly challenging his leadership and questioning his grip on power.

He has already publicly demanded that Mnangagwa should resign.

Operating under the banner of the Zimbabwe Liberators’ Platform, Geza has consistently accused Mnangagwa of betraying the liberation struggle, mismanaging the country, and using the state apparatus to suppress dissent within the party.

His latest remarks come amid deepening factionalism in Zanu PF, with growing tensions between Mnangagwa’s loyalists and those sympathetic to his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Geza and his youthful ally, Cde Nyokayemabhunu, have positioned themselves as voices of discontent, rallying war veterans and disillusioned party members against what they describe as a corrupt and self-serving leadership.

Speaking exclusively to ZimEye on Saturday, Geza laughed off claims that he was on the run from Mnangagwa’s security forces. During a seven-minute conversation with journalist Simba Chikanza, he appeared unfazed by the speculation surrounding his safety.

“Is this how a person who is on the run appears?” he quipped, dismissing reports that he had gone into hiding. Instead, he suggested that Mnangagwa’s camp was feeling the heat, stating ominously: “They are the ones preparing to set off.”

When pressed about his next move, Geza made it clear that action was imminent.

“Any time from now, I think in the next two days… do not be alarmed at all, we are on top of the situation, 100 percent,”hedeclared, hinting at a major development in his movement’s operations.

Geza has made headlines over the past year with his increasingly bold pronouncements, accusing Mnangagwa of rigging internal party processes, sidelining war veterans, and presiding over a failed state.

His defiance has put him in direct confrontation with Zanu PF’s security structures, which have long been used to silence dissenting voices within the party.

His latest outburst is expected to further inflame tensions within Zanu PF, where factional battles continue to intensify ahead of a potential leadership transition.

While Mnangagwa has sought to consolidate power, figures like Geza represent a growing resistance within the party, emboldened by widespread economic hardship and declining public confidence in the regime.

With Geza signalling imminent action, political observers will be watching closely to see what unfolds in the coming days.

His defiance adds to the mounting pressure on Mnangagwa, whose hold on power is increasingly being questioned both within and outside Zanu PF.

Whether Geza’s movement can translate rhetoric into meaningful political change remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—his bombshell statements are shaking the foundations of an already unstable ruling party.

Non Contact Rugby Gathers Momentum

Sports Correspondent

The Tag Rugby Trust has kicked off a senior tag rugby tournament at Harare Sports Club this Friday, marking an exciting step in the sport’s development in Zimbabwe. A non-contact variant of traditional rugby, tag rugby was introduced in the country three years ago with the aim of forming a national team to represent Zimbabwe on the international stage.

While the prospect of competing in the 2026 World Cup is part of the vision, the broader goal is to foster the growth of tag rugby within local communities, clubs, and high schools. The focus has been on high-density areas, creating opportunities for young people to not only play but also to experience international competitions.

The response has been encouraging, with participation from five clubs and seven schools, highlighting the sport’s growing appeal.

Tadius Hwata, the Young-Adult Project Manager for Tag Rugby Trust, emphasized the benefits of the sport’s non-contact nature, which lowers the risk of injury and makes it a more accessible option for those who may be hesitant to engage in traditional contact rugby.

To continue nurturing the sport, the organisers are hosting regular tournaments and providing training and exposure across the country’s provinces.

In another significant development, Zimbabwe received an invitation to participate in a prestigious tournament in South Africa this November, offering the team a valuable opportunity to gain international experience.

Tungwarara Takes Presidential War Veterans Housing Scheme To Makoni West

By A Correspondent| Good times continue to roll for liberation war veterans with Presidential advisor Paul Tungwarara spearheading another initiative called Presidential War Veterans Rural Housing Scheme which was launched at Dewedzo High School in Makoni West, Rusape over the weekend.

The initiative, which aims to provide decent housing and solar energy solutions to thousands of rural-based veterans of the liberation struggle, marks a significant step in improving the welfare of war veterans across Zimbabwe.

As part of the pilot project, eight solar-powered boreholes have already been drilled at war veterans’ homes in Manicaland within 48 hours of the launch.

The scheme, which is expected to expand nationwide, also includes an initial allocation of US$150,000 from the War Veterans Fund to Manicaland province.

The overall fund is projected to grow to US$10 million by June 2025, with each province set to receive US$1 million.

Dr. Tungwarara emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of war veterans to the nation’s history and identity.

“Together, let us forge a future where our war veterans are celebrated and their contributions are recognised as integral to our national identity,” he said.

“This initiative aims to improve the lives of our war veterans, with an initial allocation of US$150,000 per province, and the fund is interest-free, enabling our war veterans to embark on projects that stimulate our economy.”

The event was attended by key government officials, including Makoni West Member of Parliament and Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Dr. Jenfan Muswere, who praised President Mnangagwa’s leadership.

“Due to President Mnangagwa’s excellent leadership, the land is now being transferred into the hands of the black majority, and with the introduction of the title deeds scheme, we now have security of tenure, which enables us to access loans from banks,” he said.

Dr. Muswere also highlighted the ongoing vetting process to ensure all deserving individuals receive war veteran status.

Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, Senator Monica Mavhunga, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, noting its potential to empower war veterans and their communities.

“We are very happy about this Presidential borehole drilling scheme because it allows war veterans to embark on different income-generating projects, and the surrounding community will also benefit,” she said.

Senator Mavhunga also reaffirmed war veterans’ support for extending President Mnangagwa’s term to 2030, citing his commitment to their welfare.

ZANU PF Secretary for War Veterans, Ex-Political Prisoners, Detainees, and Restrictees in the Politburo, Douglas Mahiya, echoed these sentiments, stating,

“War veterans are truly excited; the President has remembered the war veterans, and we wish for this to continue to happen because this did not happen over the past 40 years, and it is happening now.”

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, highlighted the agricultural benefits of the scheme.

“Our province mainly relies on agriculture, so with these boreholes, it means war veterans are now embarking on agriculture full throttle, because water is very critical in their production,” he said.

During the launch, 200 war veterans received food hampers and US$200 each, further underscoring the government’s commitment to their welfare.

The Presidential War Veterans Rural Housing Scheme represents a transformative step in honoring and supporting those who contributed to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle.

Zim Football Star Ready To Make An Impact At Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has singled out Zimbabwean talent Shim Mheuka as a rising star with the potential to make a significant impact at the club.

Mheuka, a regular member of Chelsea’s U21 squad, joined the Blues in 2022 from Brighton and Hove. At just 17 years old, he made his senior debut in December, coming on as a second-half substitute in their UEFA Conference League match against Astana.

Mheuka, born in the UK to Zimbabwean parents, has the option to represent both England and Zimbabwe at the international level. His father, Malcolm Mheuka, played in Zimbabwe’s top-flight for Zimbabwe Saints and Circle Cement, further connecting Shim to the country’s footballing roots.

Masvingo War Veterans “Humiliate” Mnangagwa

By A Correspondent

War veterans in Masvingo have outrightly rejected President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s borehole and solar project, calling it a late and insincere gesture.

Speaking in Masvingo on Thursday after attending Mrs Auxillia Mnangagwa’s rally, one former freedom fighter expressed frustration: “This project is only meant to hoodwink us.

Why did it take so long to implement? They are doing this because war veterans are saying enough is enough.”

Another veteran, Cde Hokoyo Puruvheya, added, “Personally, I will not accept the offer because it is insincere.”

Cde Sub Mudondo also criticized the initiative, stating, “Mnangagwa is taking us for granted. We don’t want boreholes; we want the country to move forward.”

However, Paul Tungwarara, who is leading the programme, defended the project, stating: “The Presidential War Veterans Fund has been expanded, with the solar and borehole program now extended to all war veterans across the ten provinces.”

Mnangagwa’s Own ‘Chief Prophet’ Wutaunashe Declares His Fall, Compares Him to Nebuchadnezzar Eating Grass Humbled By God

By Religion Reporter | Harare, Zimbabwe – In a dramatic proclamation that went into Saturday midnight, Andrew Wutaunashe, the self-proclaimed chief prophet of Emmerson Mnangagwa, has declared that the Zimbabwean President has reached the end of his divine seven-year rule, comparing his fall to that of King Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian ruler who was humbled by God and reduced to spend the next 7 years eating grass, among animals.

Wutaunashe, addressing his ‘prayerfull’ congregation, claimed that God first revealed Mnangagwa’s rise and fall to him in 1997 and again in 2010, which would be only for a seven year glorious period, after which Mnangagwa would lose supernatural power and start manifesting humannness. He suggested that his expiration is part of God’s divine plan.

Andrew Wutaunashe

A Leader Humbled, Like Nebuchadnezzar

Wutaunashe directly suggested Mnangagwa’s downfall, emphasizing that it was God’s doing, not man’s will:

“I wanted to just hear from God, and God told me he’s being humbled, Amen. Everyone is saying whatever they want to say. But when people say things they want to say about a leader, don’t make the mistake of thinking that that unmakes him as a leader,” he said.

He stressed that while Mnangagwa’s humiliation is trending on social media, it does not negate his divine calling, even after its expiration.

Reinforcing that leaders are chosen by God, not by popular opinion, he said,

“Leaders are not raised because of people’s opinions. They are raised because of God’s calling, those callings which are without repentance, Hallelujah.”

Despite acknowledging Mnangagwa’s divine humbling, Wutaunashe warned that no one should dare take his throne:

“God said he’s being humbled, but no one must take his throne, and he must fulfill his ministry. Say, Hallelujah. He must fulfill the mission that God has given him.”

A Call for Military Action Against Mnangagwa’s Challengers?

In an unsettling twist, Wutaunashe likened Blessed Geza, the war veteran and military strategist leading calls for Mnangagwa’s resignation, to Absalom, the Biblical son of King David who attempted to seize his father’s throne but was ultimately slain by the military.

“Now some of you may not understand this, but this happened to David as a king. His own (Blessed) Geza was his own son who rose up against him and almost took the kingdom, but God had not changed His mind.”

He further suggested that the solution to this political rebellion is military action, drawing a direct parallel to Absalom’s fate. His remarks implied that Geza and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga must be “removed” through force, just as Absalom was.

Zimbabwe at a Crossroads: Prophecy or Political Turmoil?

Wutaunashe’s remarks have sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s political and religious circles. His acknowledgment of Mnangagwa’s humiliation, combined with his insistence on preserving the leader’s throne and his biblical justification for military action, raises serious concerns.

With political tensions already at a boiling point, could Mnangagwa’s military backers heed Wutaunashe’s call? Will Zimbabwe see a violent power struggle, or will Mnangagwa accept his prophetic humbling?

For now, the nation watches—and prays—as this prediction continues to appear to unfold, as if it was truly divine.

TWO LIVE BROADCASTS ARE SET TO BE BEAMED OVER THE MATTER ON ZIMEYE ON SUNDAY 12NOON (30min), and ANOTHER AT 5pm (30min), and present will be leading war veterans and tacticians involved in the Geza led movement.

Mnangagwa Aide Says Geza Is A Sellout

By A Correspondent

Owen Mudha Ncube, a prominent Zanu PF hardliner and Minister of State for Midlands Province, has firmly declared that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not going anywhere.

Speaking at a party event in the Midlands Province earlier this week, Mudha emphasized that Zanu PF’s revolution resolutions, including those passed at the party’s conference, would be fully implemented.

Mudha strongly reinforced the party’s stance, saying, “All 10 provinces of the ruling Zanu PF have endorsed resolution number one, which states that the President will remain in office until 2030. Let me say it out boldly, the President is not going anywhere.”

Mudha also lashed out at outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza, accusing him of being a sellout.

Geza has been vocal in exposing alleged corruption and looting within Mnangagwa’s administration, as well as challenging the President’s actions regarding constitutional violations.

Three Killed In Mining Accident Near Mnangagwa’s Farm

Chelsea’s Romeo Lavia Names Zimbabwean Prospect as Future Star

Sports Correspondent

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has singled out Zimbabwean talent Shim Mheuka as a rising star with the potential to make a significant impact at the club.

Mheuka, a regular member of Chelsea’s U21 squad, joined the Blues in 2022 from Brighton and Hove. At just 17 years old, he made his senior debut in December, coming on as a second-half substitute in their UEFA Conference League match against Astana.

Speaking on the Rising Ballers YouTube channel, Lavia highlighted several young players at Chelsea who could become future stars. Among them, he mentioned Mheuka, stating: “You guys probably don’t know him or you might know him… Shim [Mheuka]. He is a good striker. I’m really confident in their abilities.”

Always Avoid Using GPS While Holding The Wheel

Blessed Geza Finally Reveals Next Steps’ Timing | EXCLUSIVE

  1. Blessed Geza Announces Critical Timing for Movement’s Next Steps – Geza provides a precise timeline for the next phase of his movement, stating action is imminent within the next two days.

  2. Geza Dismisses Claims He Is on the Run from Mnangagwa – The war veteran spokesperson laughs off suggestions that he is in hiding, confidently stating that he and his team are in control.
  3. Zanu PF’s Mabel Chinomona Refers to Mnangagwa as a “Former President” – A slip-up or deliberate statement? The Women’s League Secretary’s remark adds fuel to speculation about Mnangagwa’s weakening grip on power.
  4. Mnangagwa Plans to Extend His Presidency by Cancelling 2028 Elections – The Zimbabwean leader allegedly aims to bypass the constitution and prolong his rule by two more years, triggering internal party tension.
  5. Geza’s Liberators Platform to Release CID Dossier on Mnangagwa’s True ZANLA Status – A potentially explosive revelation that claims Mnangagwa was never a true ZANLA member but an infiltrator, similar to his associate Maxwell Chikumbutso.
  6. Ziyambi Ziyambi Exposes Mnangagwa’s Hidden Role in the 2030 Agenda – The Justice Minister is caught admitting that Mnangagwa will pretend ignorance about the controversial plan, despite its launch at his farm

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | The war veterans’s most prolific spokesman and acclaimed military-tactician, Blessed Geza has announced perhaps the most precise time update over his movement’s operations.

Cde Bombshell Geza who speaks for the Zimbabwe Liberators’ Platform alongside his youthful junior Cde Nyokayemabhunu also laughed off suggestions that he is on the run from Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Speaking exclusively to ZimEye on Saturday, Blessed Runesu Geza continued to chuckle-on during the over 7 minute conversation.

“Is this how a person who is in the runs appears?,” he asked Simba Chikanza.

“They are the ones preparing to set off,” he added.

He then clearly laid out the timing of the next steps.

“Any time of now, I think in the next two days… do not be alarmed at all, we are on top of the situation, 100 percent,” he said.

He also laughed off fears that Mnangagwa has got larger gangs of armed robbers beyond his recently announced fake inventor, Maxwell Chikumbutso, who could cause harm on his (Geza’s) Liberator’s Platform.

“Even if he has them, how huge is their number?,” he asked.

The development comes at a time when Mnangagwa was described as a former president in a Friday speech by his own girlfriend and the Women’s League’s Secretary Mabel Chinomona.

It also comes at a time when the Zanu PF spokesman Christopher Mutsvangwa described Geza as a military expert with mostly accurate intelligence.

All this is happening at a time Mnangagwa is set for a showdown with his own party after announcing he is about to violate the country’s constitution by cancelling 2028 elections and extending his presidency for another 2 years. When he lost public support two weeks ago, Mnangagwa bounced back to work the following day to launch another “poison to death” claim through the fake inventor, Chikumbutso, a similar claim as the one he uttered when he in 1977 said that he was nearly sentenced to death, and also at Gwanda in 2017, all statements that have previously worked to convince the army to accept him as their leader.

History is set to blast off as Geza’s Liberators Platform launched on ZimEye 2 years ago, is presented with an opportunity to conclusively announce their CID dossier that shows that Mnangagwa was never a ZANLA member at all, he was as much an infiltrator as his armed robber charged fake-inventor Maxwell Chikumbutso.

His aide Justice minister Ziyambi Ziyambi was caught on camera announcing that Mnangagwa will play pretence games by appearing like he has no clue about the 2030 agenda when the truth is it was launched at his Precabe farm.

The next few days are set to prove Mnangagwa by his 2017 commitment statement that: ZANU PF is too big for an individual anyone who puts it in their pocket will be burnt up. Follow ZimEye for more Blessed Geza exclusive updates. A LIVE BROADCAST LAUNCHES ON ZIMEYE AT 7.30PM ZIM TIME

Bushiri’s Spokesperson Maynard Manyowa Says Uebert Angel Has Never Cooked Up A Miracle Despite GoldMafia Evidence

Manyowa’s Role in Downplaying Military Involvement in August 1 Killings Resurfaces.

By Religion Reporter | ZimEye | UK based journalist Maynard Manyowa, currently serving as the fugitive Shepherd Bushiri’s spokesperson, has gone under review over his statements that call for the community to trust the GoldMafia implicated and fugitive ambassador Uebert Angel.

“ That said, having worked around these men of God – I can say Uebert Angel doesn’t cook prophecies or miracles.

“He never asked me to do it. I never saw him do it. And he had me bring strangers of my choosing to him – and told them their life from start to finish…,” writes Maynard Manyowa

“ That said, having worked around these men of God – I can say Uebert Angel doesn’t cook prophecies or miracles.
He never asked me to do it. I never saw him do it. And he had me bring strangers of my choosing to him – and told them their life from start to finish…,” writes Maynard Manyowa.

Maynard MANYOWA thanking Uebert Angel

The development comes at a time Manyowa is receiving assistance from journalist Hopewell Chin’ono to make what is supposed to be an expose’ of the government of Zimbabwe. Both Manyowa and Chin’ono have corrupted the army and CIO (central intelligence organisation) by testifying falsely to cover up for the Mnangagwa regime during crackdowns. While Chin’ono advises the ministry of Defence to descend onto the civil society as a way of suppressing political tension, Manyowa faces renewed scrutiny over his other statements and alleged efforts to downplay the August 1, 2018 military crackdown on protesters. Manyowa, is under fire for his testimony before the Kgalema Motlanthe Commission of Inquiry, where he controversially claimed he did not see soldiers at the scene of a fatal shooting.

Motlanthe Commission Testimony: Did Manyowa Shield the Military?

https://x.com/zimeye/status/1732781171820343731?s=46

During his testimony before the Motlanthe Commission, Manyowa provided an account that contradicted multiple eyewitness reports and video evidence showing soldiers firing at civilians during post-election protests.

Supported by Hopewell Chin’ono

Manyowa told the commission that he did not see any soldiers when Ishmael Kumene was fatally shot near Cameron Street and Jason Moyo Avenue in Harare.

Said Manyowa:

“A group of protesters were running and as they were running, I noticed a guy wearing black and he took two steps and tumbled down.”

“At the time he took those steps, there had been people behind him, but there were no soldiers at the time. I don’t know who shot the guy. There were gunshots going all over the directions. I think it could be people in the crowd who fired shots.”

Manyowa’s version of events appeared to shift blame away from the security forces, instead suggesting that the fatal shots may have come from within the crowd of MDC-Alliance supporters.

Further defending the military’s actions, Manyowa claimed that soldiers only intervened after protesters turned violent—damaging police vehicles and targeting officers with bricks.

“Two gentlemen launched bricks towards the police water cannon and hit the muzzle. When they hit the muzzle, the water cannon immediately flooded, and that caused water leakages near the gate.”

Manyowa also alleged that MDC supporters had initially protested peacefully before returning in a more violent manner.

“A group of protesters besieged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s Results Centre at the Rainbow Towers Hotel. They protested peacefully and co-operated with police. It was quite an incredible sight, watching protesters pave way for traffic, taking turns with the police to open and close the gate.”

“Some 20 minutes later, they left. Some one hour later they returned, with new company. Armed with sticks and stones. This time cars were blocked, police were stoned. A few colleagues and I received a few bricks to the back as we fled.”

His comments at the time were widely criticized, with many accusing him of acting as a shield for the Zimbabwean military, despite overwhelming evidence—including video footage—showing soldiers firing live ammunition at civilians.

Alleged Financial Ties to Uebert Angel Raise Further Questions

Adding to the controversy, Manyowa is also facing allegations of financial ties to Uebert Angel, a controversial religious leader linked to political elites. Resurfaced tweets from Manyowa show him praising Angel, thanking him for his presence at events, and later defending him against accusations of faking prophecies and miracles.

Critics argue that Manyowa’s credibility as a journalist is compromised due to his close affiliations with high-profile figures like Bushiri and Angel, both of whom have faced legal and ethical scrutiny. Some claim that Manyowa has benefited financially from these relationships, raising concerns about his ability to report objectively.

Twitter user Mike Mpofu directly confronted him, stating:

“Which work did you do other than writing an email over a well-known soccer issue, already publicly exposed in the High Court, and getting money from Uebert Angel all these years to date?”

Manyowa has not explicitly denied receiving financial support from Angel but dismissed the allegations as a desperate attack on his journalism.

Manyowa Responds: “I Struck a Nerve”

Responding to the backlash, Manyowa downplayed the resurfacing of his tweets, suggesting that his critics were simply recycling public information.

“The brilliant work I am doing has struck a nerve, I see. So let’s dig up public tweets and claim they are some revelation,” he tweeted, adding a laughing emoji.

On accusations of spiritual affiliations, he stated:

“I am not spiritual – so I don’t really mind what they are. N’angas or otherwise. Doesn’t bother me.”

Public Reaction: Calls for Accountability

Manyowa’s statements have triggered a fresh wave of criticism, with many questioning whether he used his platform to mislead the public about the military’s actions in 2018. His role as Bushiri’s spokesperson and ties to Angel have only fueled speculation that he is a mouthpiece for powerful figures rather than an objective journalist.

With Zimbabwe’s media and political landscape under intense scrutiny, calls for greater transparency and accountability in journalism continue to grow.

Zanu PF Heavyweights, State Agents Loot Auxillia Mnangagwa Donated Items

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF heavyweights and state security agents have been accused of looting foodstuffs, hampers, and farming inputs that were donated to villagers by Mrs. Auxillia Mnangagwa on Wednesday.

Mrs. Mnangagwa had been in Masvingo for a rally at the Masvingo Showgrounds, where thousands of attendees were bused in from across the province. School pupils were reportedly coerced into attending the event.

A Zanu PF source revealed the poor distribution of the donated goods, stating, “Attendees were divided into groups of 10 and made to share a 50kg bag of rice, while top government and Zanu PF officials received 10kg of mealie meal each.”

Further reports from Benjamin Burombo indicated that the donated items were heavily looted by Zanu PF officials and state security agents. “The donated items were stolen by senior party members and state security agents. Senior government officials also stole the items,” a government source said, condemning the actions.

These allegations have raised concerns about the misuse of charitable donations and the abuse of power by political and security elites.

A Tribute To Morgan Richard Tsvangirai

By A Correspondent

On the 14th of February 2018, Zimbabwe and the world lost one of its most remarkable political figures: Morgan Tsvangirai, the founding president of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). His death marked the end of an era for Zimbabwean politics, and a deep sense of loss reverberated across the nation and beyond.

Born on March 10, 1952, in Gutu, Zimbabwe, Tsvangirai’s life journey would become one of resilience, defiance, and undying commitment to democracy. A labor leader by trade, he rose to prominence in the 1990s when he became the Secretary-General of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU). In the face of oppressive government policies, he spoke boldly for workers’ rights and social justice. His outspokenness against Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU-PF, ultimately led him to establish the MDC in 1999, a political party dedicated to providing an alternative to the long-standing regime of President Robert Mugabe.

Tsvangirai’s political path was not without hardship. He faced intimidation, imprisonment, and brutal violence at the hands of those who opposed his ideals. Despite this, he stood resolute, never wavering in his commitment to democratic change, human rights, and the well-being of all Zimbabweans.

His leadership of the MDC was a beacon of hope for millions of Zimbabweans who were disillusioned with the status quo. Tsvangirai’s courage inspired a generation of people to believe in a better, more democratic future. He led the MDC through turbulent elections, most notably in 2008, when his party won the first-round vote but was denied victory in the subsequent run-off, after the regime resorted to extreme violence and manipulation.

Despite these challenges, Morgan Tsvangirai remained steadfast in his belief that the path to freedom and democracy could not be diverted by tyranny. His political journey was marked by both victories and defeats, but through it all, he never lost sight of his mission to establish a fair and just society for all Zimbabweans.

His most significant legacy perhaps came in the form of the coalition government that was formed in 2009. Tsvangirai entered into a power-sharing agreement with Robert Mugabe, where he became the Prime Minister. The government, though fraught with difficulties, brought a semblance of stability to Zimbabwe after years of economic collapse and political strife. This chapter was a testament to Tsvangirai’s pragmatism and commitment to ensuring Zimbabwe’s survival amidst adversity.

Tsvangirai’s passing in Johannesburg on February 14, 2018, was a moment of profound grief, not only for his family, but for all those who saw him as a symbol of hope. As the MDC mourned the loss of their leader, Zimbabweans reflected on his unyielding struggle for democracy and his role in shaping the nation’s political landscape.

Today, as we remember Morgan Tsvangirai, we honor his indelible mark on Zimbabwe’s history. He was a fighter, a democrat, and a true patriot. In the words of those who loved him, he “ran his race and fought a good fight.” His legacy lives on in the hearts of the many people who continue to strive for the ideals he stood for.

Rest in peace, Pakuru. Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, Chikara cheZanu (the Lion of Zanu), may your courage and determination never be forgotten. MHSRIP.

Mnangagwa Grabs Controversial Award

By Own Correspondent

Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, was awarded the Liberation Vanguard Award by the Africa Youth Congress (AYC) on Wednesday, a recognition that has sparked mixed reactions.

The award was presented to Mnangagwa at a ceremony in Harare, which was attended by Taurai Kandishaya, a prominent Zanu PF Youth League official.

Speaking about the award, Kandishaya, who is also the President of the Africa Youth Congress, stated:
“Today, in my capacity as President of Africa Youth Congress, leading my delegation, I had the honour and privilege of handing over an award to President ED Mnangagwa from Africa Youth Congress, which was given to him at a congress held in Uganda in January.”

The Liberation Vanguard Award was presented to Mnangagwa in recognition of his “unwavering dedication and contribution to the liberation, freedom, justice, and sovereignty of African nations through self-determination across the continent,” according to Kandishaya. The award was touted as a tribute to Mnangagwa’s leadership in championing the African ideal of self-dependence, a sentiment he has consistently expressed with the “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” mantra, which translates to “the country is built by its own people.”

Kandishaya further elaborated on the significance of the award, stating:
“The Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo mantra is a clear vision of self-dependence, inclusivity, and determination to nation-building.”

However, the award has raised eyebrows, with critics questioning the motives behind such recognitions and the organization’s credibility. The timing of the award and the political implications surrounding Mnangagwa’s leadership have sparked debate, especially given the ongoing challenges faced by Zimbabwe under his rule, including issues of governance, human rights, and economic instability.

While Mnangagwa’s supporters have hailed the award as a well-deserved acknowledgment of his contributions to Africa’s sovereignty and self-determination, others view it as a politically motivated gesture by an organization closely linked to the ruling party.

Mnangagwa Lures Healthcare Workers With Residential Stands

By A Correspondent

In a move that appears aimed at influencing healthcare professionals, the Zanu PF-affiliated group Doctors and Nurses4ED is offering residential stands for as little as USD 190.

The stands, reportedly being taken from local authorities across Zimbabwe, are part of a larger strategy to win over doctors and nurses.

In a statement issued on Friday, Doctors and Nurses4ED shared details of their ongoing efforts, specifically the Marondera project.

According to the group, the project is nearing completion, with significant progress being made on the site. “I would like to inform you that our Marondera project is almost complete. There is massive work being done on the site. Few stands left for those interested,” the statement reads.

The group encourages medical professionals to act quickly, offering a tempting deal: “Just pay $190 and get your stand, Paperwork and allocation done on the same day.” To further incentivize potential buyers, they provided a contact number for interested parties: “For more information contact 0785477262. Thank you, Cde Basikoro.”

This offer raises concerns about the ethical implications of such deals and whether they are part of a larger political strategy to gain support from healthcare workers.

Chamisa Survives Mnangagwa Covid Assassination Plot

By Munacho Gwanada-Opposition politician Nelson Chamisa narrowly escaped an assassination attempt orchestrated by Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU PF during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) devised a plan in 2020 to eliminate Chamisa and frame his death as a consequence of the coronavirus.

Chamisa, who contested the 2018 presidential election and lost narrowly to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, was reportedly identified as the primary threat to ZANU PF’s continued dominance.

The plan was, however, thwarted by internal resistance within the CIO.

Chamisa was not the only high-profile figure targeted during this period.

Several military generals who played key roles in the 2017 coup that ousted longtime ruler Robert Mugabe and installed Mnangagwa also died under mysterious circumstances, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis.

These deaths fueled speculation of a systematic purge aimed at consolidating Mnangagwa’s grip on power by eliminating potential challengers within the military and intelligence sectors.

Among those who died under suspicious circumstances were:

  • General Sibusiso Moyo – The face of the 2017 coup, Moyo famously announced Mugabe’s removal on national television. He was later appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mnangagwa’s government but died suddenly in January 2021, officially due to COVID-19.
  • Air Marshal Perrance Shiri – The former commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe and later Minister of Lands, Shiri was a key figure in the coup. He passed away in July 2020, with the government citing COVID-19 as the cause, though suspicions of foul play remain.
  • Major General Paradzai Zimondi – The former head of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, Zimondi was a liberation struggle veteran and an influential military figure. He died in January 2021, reportedly of COVID-19, adding to the growing list of high-ranking officials who perished under unexplained circumstances.

These deaths coincided with Mnangagwa’s aggressive moves to sideline perceived threats within the security establishment.

Observers noted a pattern where influential figures who had the capability to challenge Mnangagwa’s authority were being systematically removed.

According to a Shepherd Bushiri publicist, Former CIO Director-General Isaac Moyo reportedly resisted authorizing assassination plots against opposition figures, including Chamisa, which led to his eventual ousting.

Moyo, a career diplomat who had previously served as Zimbabwe’s ambassador to South Africa, was perceived by some within the CIO as too lenient.

His subordinates accused him of being “too nice” and unwilling to engage in covert operations that could solidify Mnangagwa’s hold on power.

According to the online news portal, Mnangagwa received intelligence assessments as early as 2020 criticizing Moyo’s leadership, particularly his refusal to authorize the elimination of political adversaries under the guise of COVID-19 deaths.

One such report, dated February 15, 2021, explicitly stated that Moyo had turned down two assassination operations targeting opposition leaders.

The plan, allegedly pushed by the CIO’s operative division, proposed using the pandemic as a cover to eliminate key opposition figures without attracting international scrutiny.

Moyo’s stance led to tensions within the agency. In a heated Joint Operations Command (JOC) meeting, his deputies openly confronted him, declaring, “You are not an operative.” He was further criticized for introducing internal reforms that were unpopular among CIO operatives, such as requiring them to surrender their identity cards at the end of each shift to curb abuses, demanding reports on excessive force, and restricting the carrying of weapons.

By January 2025, Mnangagwa had removed Moyo from his position, replacing him with Fulton Mangwanya, the former director-general of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.

This move was widely interpreted as Mnangagwa tightening his control over the intelligence services and ensuring that the CIO remained loyal to his rule.

Kasukuwere: War Vets Are An Extension of the Military

The Reckoning of Zimbabwe: Saviour Kasukuwere’s Bold Stand Against Mnangagwa’s Rule

The echoes of history are loud, and Zimbabwe stands at a precarious moment. Former Minister Saviour Kasukuwere, once an insider of the ruling Zanu PF, now finds himself in exile, reflecting on the fate of his homeland. In a candid and unfiltered interview, Kasukuwere lays bare the state of the nation, the betrayal of the liberation ethos, and the emergence of a new resistance, led by war veterans and figures like Blessed Geza—known in the struggle as Comrade Bombshell.

As the political landscape shifts towards the much-debated 2030 agenda, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa seeks an extended term beyond constitutional limits, Zimbabweans find themselves at a crossroads. The growing unrest within Zanu PF, the discontent among war veterans, and the fear of yet another coup all paint a familiar picture—one reminiscent of the events that led to Robert Mugabe’s ousting in 2017.

A Nation Betrayed: The Fallacy of the New Dispensation

Kasukuwere does not mince words when describing Mnangagwa’s leadership during an interview with HSTV’s Blessed Mhlanga. His accusations are damning—corruption, tribalism, economic decay, and state-sponsored violence. “We have a dinosaur sitting on top of the country,” he declares, highlighting how Mnangagwa’s greed has robbed Zimbabweans of hope. The president’s appetite for wealth, control, and absolute power has turned the country into a personal fiefdom.

“The best women, the best cars, the most money—he wants it all. The industries are his, the gold is his, even the agricultural sector has been privatized to his farm,” Kasukuwere says with clear disdain. His frustration is not just with Mnangagwa’s economic control but with his deliberate effort to erase national progress. Every sector in Zimbabwe is crumbling—health, education, industry. Once a regional leader in literacy and agricultural self-sufficiency, Zimbabwe has now become a case study in regression.

Yet, as Mnangagwa consolidates power, he faces an unexpected rebellion—not from the opposition, but from within his own camp.

The Return of the War Veterans: Blessed Geza’s Defiance

One of the most unexpected turns in Zimbabwe’s political climate is the emergence of Blessed Geza, or Comrade Bombshell, as a voice of resistance. Kasukuwere sees Geza as a critical figure in the struggle against Mnangagwa’s prolonged rule.

“The war veterans are an extension of the defense forces,” Kasukuwere reminds his audience. “When they speak, the state must listen.” And Geza has spoken—loudly and without fear.

His demands? Accountability. An end to corruption. Justice for the fallen generals. And most controversially, the immediate resignation of Mnangagwa.

Geza’s critique goes beyond personal grievances; he speaks to the core betrayal of the liberation struggle. The ideals that led thousands to the battlefields—land, economic independence, and equality—have been reduced to personal gain for a few elites. Instead of empowering the veterans who fought for Zimbabwe’s independence, Mnangagwa has marginalized them, reducing their contributions to cheap political tokens.

Kasukuwere warns that ignoring these calls for change is a dangerous gamble. The war veterans were instrumental in removing Mugabe, and they have the capacity to challenge Mnangagwa. “A dead man can rise,” he says cryptically, hinting that history has a way of repeating itself.

The Corruption Nexus: A Nation Held Hostage

One of Kasukuwere’s most explosive allegations is the complete capture of Zimbabwe’s economy by a network of corrupt officials. He details how Mnangagwa personally interferes in government procurement, suspending laws to allow unchecked looting.

“How does a president get involved in the procurement of goats, oil, and even water boreholes?” he asks incredulously. “A leader must govern, not run a marketplace.”

He points to the scandal of the presidential goat scheme, where millions of dollars were allegedly siphoned under the guise of an agricultural initiative. Instead of facing justice, Mnangagwa has remained silent, treating the allegations as minor inconveniences rather than national betrayals.

The judiciary, too, has been weaponized. Kasukuwere himself is a victim, having been forced into exile under false charges. His decision to challenge Mnangagwa in the 2023 elections was met with an immediate legal blockade, exposing the complete breakdown of democracy in Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabwe is now a mafia state,” he states bluntly. “Laws only apply to the powerless.”

The 2030 Agenda: A Power Grab Disguised as Development

At the heart of Zimbabwe’s political crisis is Mnangagwa’s push to remain in power until 2030. This, according to Kasukuwere, is nothing more than a self-serving illusion.

“The 2030 agenda is a UN framework, not a Zanu PF manifesto,” he points out. “It was never meant to be an excuse for dictatorship.”

He criticizes the ruling party’s obsession with blind loyalty, where any dissent is dismissed as treasonous. Mnangagwa’s factional supporters have branded all critics as either ‘G40 remnants’ or ‘Chamisa sympathizers,’ conveniently ignoring legitimate grievances.

Yet, Kasukuwere believes this strategy will backfire. “You cannot silence an entire nation,” he warns. “Sooner or later, the people will rise.”

A Glimpse into the Future: Will Another Coup Happen?

Zimbabweans are asking the inevitable question: Is another coup on the horizon?

The war veterans’ call for Mnangagwa’s resignation, combined with growing dissatisfaction within the military, suggests that history may indeed repeat itself. The same forces that toppled Mugabe in 2017 could once again turn against the regime—this time against a leader who once benefited from their support.

Kasukuwere, however, is cautious. He does not explicitly endorse a coup, but he acknowledges that Mnangagwa’s rule is becoming increasingly untenable.

“The courts legalized the 2017 coup,” he reminds Zimbabweans. “If the military were to intervene again, would it be illegal? Or would it simply be the continuation of a precedent?”

Conclusion: A Nation at a Crossroads

Saviour Kasukuwere’s interview is more than just political rhetoric—it is a warning. Zimbabwe cannot afford another decade of economic collapse, political repression, and social decay.

The resistance is growing. The war veterans have spoken. The corruption is exposed. And the people are watching.

The fate of Zimbabwe now rests on whether Mnangagwa listens—or if he repeats the mistakes of his predecessor.

Either way, change is coming. And this time, Kasukuwere promises, “we will never allow this to happen again.”- ZimEye

How to Choose the Right Certification Site: A Look at the Top 7 Platforms

In today’s competitive job market, earning a certification can be a key differentiator when it comes to career growth. With countless online platforms offering a wide range of certifications across industries, choosing the right certification site can feel overwhelming. Whether you are looking to gain new skills, advance your career, or switch fields, selecting a platform that offers quality, credibility, and flexibility is essential. In this article, we’ll explore how to choose the right certification site and highlight seven top platforms to help you make an informed decision.

1. Understand Your Career Goals and Learning Needs

Before diving into the vast array of certification platforms, the first step is to identify your career goals. Are you looking to switch industries? Do you want to gain a specific technical skill, like coding or data analysis? Or are you aiming for a managerial position and need certifications in project management or business leadership?

Understanding your learning objectives will help you narrow down which certification sites specialize in the areas you’re interested in. Some platforms focus on broad topics like business and marketing, while others specialize in technical fields such as IT, cybersecurity, or data science.

2. Consider Accreditation and Reputation

One of the most important factors in choosing a certification site is ensuring the certifications you earn are credible and recognized by employers. Accredited programs carry more weight in the job market, as they are validated by reputable organizations or industry leaders.

Look for platforms that partner with well-known universities, professional organizations, or companies, as these collaborations often signal a higher standard of education. For instance, certifications from platforms like Coursera, edX, and LinkedIn Learning often come with university-backed credentials, which can add credibility to your resume.

3. Evaluate Course Content and Flexibility

Different platforms offer different learning experiences, so it’s crucial to evaluate the course content and delivery style. Some sites offer self-paced learning, allowing you to study whenever and wherever you want, while others provide live classes with instructors. If you’re someone who thrives in a structured learning environment, live courses might be more beneficial. However, if you need flexibility, self-paced courses could be a better fit.

Check the curriculum of the certification programs on the platform to see if the content aligns with your needs. Are the modules comprehensive and up-to-date? Does the program include hands-on projects or real-world scenarios? Practical experience and engaging course materials are essential for fully grasping the skills taught.

4. Assess the Platform’s Pricing and Payment Options

Cost is often a deciding factor when choosing a certification site. Some platforms offer free courses, while others charge a fee for certification. If you’re working within a budget, consider platforms that provide affordable options or offer financial assistance, discounts, or subscriptions.

For example, platforms like Coursera and edX provide many free courses, but you’ll need to pay if you want the certification. On the other hand, platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Udemy often offer subscription-based models or one-time payments per course, which might be better suited for learners who want more flexibility in their spending.

Beyond earning a certification, many professionals are interested in landing a job after completing a course. If this is important to you, look for platforms that provide these types of career support.

LinkedIn Learning, for example, is closely integrated with the LinkedIn job portal, making it easier for you to showcase your certifications directly on your profile. Additionally, some platforms, such as Coursera and Udacity, offer partnerships with top employers or offer internships and job opportunities.

Top 10 Distractions One Should Avoid While Driving

Geza Puts Mnangagwa Family, Zvigananda In Panic

By Munacho Gwamanda-ZANU-PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa on Thursday struggled to dismiss threats by outspoken war veteran Blessing Geza, who has called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to resign or face a coup—confirming that the president and his inner circle are now in panic mode.

Addressing the media at the ZANU-PF headquarters, Mutsvangwa, known for his fiery outbursts when denying factionalism within the ruling party, attempted to downplay Geza’s challenge.

All he could muster was a dismissive remark: “Geza is being used by fools.”

Geza, a former liberation war fighter and vocal critic of Mnangagwa’s leadership, has since gone into hiding after police announced on Wednesday that they were seeking his arrest on multiple charges.

According to a statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on February 12, 2025, Geza is wanted for alleged theft, undermining the authority of the president, and incitement to commit public violence.

However, his faction has dismissed the charges as politically motivated, warning that any attempt to arrest or assassinate him would be met with fierce resistance.

“Any arrest or assassination at this point will be a declaration of war in this country. Let me repeat: you have unleashed violence for no offense,” a spokesperson for Geza’s group declared.

Political analysts and Geza’s supporters argue that the accusations are a desperate ploy to silence one of Mnangagwa’s fiercest critics as the battle for power within ZANU-PF escalates.

“This is a classic Mnangagwa regime tactic—using law enforcement to muzzle those who expose corruption and demand accountability,” said a war veteran aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s camp.

Geza has been relentless in his criticism of Mnangagwa’s alleged misgovernance, corruption, and his controversial push for an unconstitutional third term.

He has also accused Mnangagwa of reneging on a supposed gentleman’s agreement with Chiwenga, under which power was expected to rotate after two terms.

Mnangagwa’s refusal to step down has deepened rifts within ZANU-PF, with factions now openly voicing their discontent.

Calls for his resignation intensified after Chiwenga’s speech at the National Heroes Acre last week, where he delivered a thinly veiled attack on corrupt businessmen linked to Mnangagwa.

Chiwenga, a key figure in the 2017 coup that ousted Robert Mugabe, warned against individuals exploiting state resources for personal gain—a remark widely interpreted as targeting Mnangagwa’s close associates, including his sons and powerful business allies.

Sources within the security sector suggest that Mnangagwa and his inner circle are increasingly on edge.

“The president got the message loud and clear. He is panicking, and so is his family. His sons have been placed under heightened state security amid fears of potential moves against them,” a senior government source revealed.

Mnangagwa Is A Hypocrite: War Veterans

Mnangagwa Traps Doctors and Nurses with USD 190 Residential Stands Offer

Cheziya High School Authorities In Uniform Corruption Scandal

Munacho Gwamanda– Authorities at Cheziya High School in Gokwe are at the center of a corruption scandal involving school uniforms.

Parents who paid $200 for their children’s uniforms in December last year are still waiting for most of the promised items.

Tracksuits, half jerseys, full jerseys, shorts, and caps remain undelivered, raising serious concerns about mismanagement and possible fraud.

Reports suggest that the school’s administration and the School Development Committee (SDC) were duped by a supplier who is allegedly a relative of the school head.

The supplier, who reportedly lacks the capacity to fulfill the order, has failed to deliver the uniforms, leaving parents frustrated.

Adding to the outrage, it has emerged that only the children of teachers and boarding students have received their fulluniform sets, while the majority of day scholars remain without the required sports attire.

Parents have repeatedly sought answers from the school authorities but have only received vague assurances, with no concrete resolution in sight.

Now, two months into the school term, form one students are still without their sports uniforms, despite parents being forced to pay in advance as a condition for securing a place.

Many believe money has exchanged hands in a dubious deal that has left their children disadvantaged.

Efforts to obtain a comment from school authorities were fruitless.

These will be one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, complete with fixtures and quality finishes.

The development is strategically located with easy access to Harare drive and the rest of Harare.

Pomona City located in Harare North, which will offer residents easy access to top-rated schools, shopping centres, and entertainment hubs within the Estate.

Investing in the Pomona Flats comes with numerous benefits.

For one, the development is part of a larger master-planned community, which will feature a range of amenities, including office spaces, shopping centres, restaurants, and recreational facilities.

This “live, work, shop, and play” concept will create a vibrant and dynamic community, where residents can enjoy a convenient and fulfilling lifestyle.

Furthermore, the Pomona City project is expected to boost economic growth in the area, creating new job opportunities and stimulating local businesses.

As a result, property values are likely to appreciate, making the Pomona Flats an attractive investment opportunity.

Harare North, where the Pomona Flats are located, is a highly sought-after suburb, known for its tranquil atmosphere, scenic views, and excellent infrastructure.

Residents of the Pomona Flats will enjoy easy access to major highways, making it an ideal location for professionals and families.

“We are excited to offer investors the opportunity to be part of this ground breaking development,” said WestProp chief Mr Ken Sharpe.

“The Pomona Flats offer a unique blend of modern living, convenience, and investment potential, making them an attractive option for those looking to invest in Harare’s property market.

” With its prime location, modern design, and range of amenities, the Pomona Flats are poised to become one of Harare’s most desirable residential addresses. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to invest in a thriving community and be part of the Pomona City vision”, said Mr Sharpe.

Added to the residential enclave is a fruit orchard to feed residents and help foster community and social connection while enhancing the estate’s ambience, property values and general appeal.

The orchard, which is set on two residential stands big enough to fit two apartment blocks, is part of the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

ZIMSEC Announces 2025 Exam Fees

By Munacho Gwamanda-The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced the examination fees and structure for the June and November 2025 sessions, maintaining the same fee structure as in previous years despite economic instability and currency fluctuations.

In a statement issued on Thursday, February 13, ZIMSEC confirmed that fees remain unchanged and urged candidates to adhere strictly to their schools’ registration dates and deadlines set.

The 2025 Ordinary Level examination fee is set at US$24 per subject. Candidates enrolled in public schools, local authority schools, and non-profit mission schools will pay US$11, while the government will subsidize the remaining US$13.

However, private school, college, and independent candidates will not benefit from the subsidy and will be required to pay the full US$24 per subject.

For Advanced Level candidates, the examination fee is US$48 per subject. Those in public, local authority, and mission schools will pay US$22, with the government covering US$26. Private candidates, including those in private schools and colleges, must pay the full US$48 per subject.

The subsidy applies only to a maximum of seven subjects for Ordinary Level candidates and four subjects for Advanced Level candidates, including Communication Skills. Additionally, candidates retaking subjects are not eligible for the subsidy, nor does the BEAM programme cover retake examinations.

Parents and guardians can pay in United States Dollars (USD), South African Rand (ZAR), or Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), the country’s newly introduced currency that replaced the Zimbabwean dollar (ZWL). For those opting to pay in ZiG, the interbank exchange rate as of March 10, 2024 (for June exams) and March 24, 2024 (for November exams) will determine the exact amounts.

Zimbabwe’s economic history has been marred by hyperinflation, which led to the collapse of the local currency multiple times. The recent reintroduction of the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency is meant to stabilize the economy by anchoring it on mineral reserves. However, concerns remain over the volatility of the exchange rate, making many parents hesitant to pay fees in ZiG, fearing depreciation before exam dates.

Although ZIMSEC has kept fees unchanged, Zimbabwe’s inflationary pressures could erode affordability, particularly for families earning in local currency. The government’s continued subsidy provides some relief, but with the cost of living rising, many parents may still struggle to afford multiple subjects, especially at the Advanced Level.

Education activists have raised concerns that the examination fees, particularly for private candidates, remain high relative to average incomes. They have urged the government to expand subsidy eligibility to ensure more students can sit for their exams without financial barriers.

Registration Process Underway

ZIMSEC has advised candidates and guardians to visit their nearest school or examination centre to complete registration. The council emphasized that all fees must be paid within the stipulated deadlines to avoid late penalties.

25 Perish In Beitbridge Horror Crash

By Crime and Courts-The police have confirmed the death of 25 people in a head-on collision in Beitbridge yesterday morning.

The accident occurred after the Urban Connect Bus erroneously overtook and collided head-on with a haulage truck near Beitbridge.

Both drivers survived but sustained critical injuries.

The Government has since declared the accident a national disaster.

In a statement yesterday, President Mnangagwa said: “The death of fellow Zimbabweans in a head-on collision between an Urban Connect bus and a commercial truck along the Beitbridge-Masvingo highway this morning (yesterday), left me horrified and heartbroken.
“Fellow Zimbabweans, our nation does not deserve this at all, let alone experiencing such a bloody incident at the beginning of the year. We have to do all that is possible to curb this unjustified loss of life.”
The President appealed to drivers to exercise caution on the roads for the sake of fellow road users and themselves.
All arms of Government responsible for ensuring safety on the roads have been directed to work around the clock and evoke all legal means and powers available to them to reduce road carnage.
Added President Mnangagwa: “Government has, therefore, declared this incident a national disaster and will accord victims of this horrendous crash State-assisted burial.
“As I express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to families and relatives who have lost their loved ones in this horrific crash, I also heartily and prayerfully reach out to all those injured and hospitalised, wishing them speedy recovery.”
Beitbridge district medical officer, Dr Lenos Samhere, said 17 passengers died on the spot while eight others who had sustained head injuries, died upon admission at the Beitbridge District Hospital.
Fifty-three others were admitted for medical attention, with 10 of them who were critical, being transferred to Gwanda Provincial Hospital.
“Among the injured are 26 men and 30 women who have varied injuries and are admitted at the hospital,” said Dr Samhere.
Tragedy struck when the Beitbridge-bound Urban Connect bus collided head-on with a commercial truck travelling to Chirundu, carrying 34 tonnes of magnesium. The injured were rescued by other motorists, the police and other stakeholders working together with the local Civil Protection Committee.
In a statement yesterday, Urban Connect Bus Company expressed condolences to the grieving families and the nation.
The company pledged compassionate assistance of US$500 to each grieving family.
“As Urban Connect, we want to express our heartfelt condolences to families and relatives of our fellow Zimbabweans who passed on in the bus accident on Thursday 13 February 2025 near the Lutumba Tollgate along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway.
“We wish a speedy recovery to those injured. We will offer compassionate assistance to relatives of the departed and we have started rendering assistance to the injured.
“In addition, we pledge to cooperate with authorities in investigations into this accident,” a company representative  said.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the bodies of all victims had been taken to Beitbridge District Hospital mortuary for post-mortems.
Police will release more details when available.
When The Herald news crew arrived at the scene yesterday, the police, community members and the Municipality of Beitbridge emergency services were pulling out some bodies trapped in the wreckage of the bus.
A crowd had also formed around the accident scene, with curious residents checking for possible relatives who could have been victims of the fatal accident.
One of the first people to attend the scene, Mr Thomas Nhundu who works for a funeral parlour and was driving towards Beitbridge, said he, together with other people living close to the highway, retrieved some of the injured from the bus.
“The bus had just overtaken and when we arrived there were bodies all over the tarmac. The injured whom we pulled out of the wreckage were transported to the hospital by the police, other motorists and various Government agencies,” said Mr Nhundu.
Another witness, Mr Leonard Wanderson, a resident of Tshapfutshe said he rushed to the scene after hearing a loud bang near the tollgate.
“I had seen the bus passing through our business centre when suddenly I heard a loud bang and I rushed here. Together with other community members, we then started rescuing those who were injured and covering dead bodies with blankets and some clothes that were strewn all over the scene,” he said.
Mr Wanderson said most of the passengers who were sitting on the front seats were thrown on the tarmac on impact.
Following the accident, some panic-stricken residents thronged the hospital to check on their relatives who were reported to have been travelling from Harare.
Others said they were at the hospital to offer compassion to the bereaved and material support to the hospital.
In separate interviews, some survivors said they were sleeping by the time of accident, only to wake up on the tarmac and later to hospital.
“I was awoken by the large bang and I saw a lot of bodies lying on the road. I became very scared and in a few moments, I was rushed to the hospital where medical staff attended to me and the other injured passengers,” said Mr Tinsahe Chingo from Chitungwiza.
Ms Tambudzai Mugasa said she became frightened after noticing that the bus was about to collide with the truck.
“I just stared at death haplessly and put everything in God’s hands when I noticed that the bus was about to collide with the truck. The next thing, I found myself outside the bus next to several dead bodies,” she said.
Environmental Management Agency spokesperson, Ms Amkela Sidange, said the magnesium that had spilled on the accident scene was likely to cause minimal effect on the environment.

Transform Your Space: Creative Wall Art Ideas for Every Room

Wall art is one of the simplest and most effective ways to elevate your home decor. Whether you’re looking to add color, texture, or personality to a room, the right piece of art can completely transform the space. From statement pieces to subtle accents, wall art allows you to express your style while creating an inviting atmosphere. In this article, we’ll explore creative wall art ideas for every room in your home to help you bring your interiors to life.

1. Living Room: Bold and Inviting Statement Pieces

The living room is often the heart of the home, where family and guests gather. It’s essential to choose wall art that creates an inviting, yet bold impression. Large-scale art pieces are perfect for this space, whether it’s an oversized painting, an abstract piece, or a framed photograph that reflects your personality. Consider artwork that complements the colors in your furniture and decor, or choose a contrasting color scheme to create a striking focal point.

Idea: Create a feature wall by hanging a large painting above your sofa, or opt for a gallery wall with a mix of frames in various sizes and styles. To give the room a cohesive feel, keep the color palette consistent or choose pieces that tie into the theme of the room.

2. Bedroom: Soothing and Personal Touches

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary—a place where you can unwind and relax. When it comes to wall art, go for pieces that enhance this tranquil vibe. Soft, calming tones like pastels, watercolors, and nature-inspired art can help create a peaceful atmosphere. Consider prints of landscapes, abstract shapes, or delicate botanical illustrations to add a serene touch to your walls.

Idea: For a more personal feel, consider framing your favorite quotes or lyrics that inspire you. A single, meaningful piece above your bed or a carefully curated series of smaller prints along the wall can be a great way to make the space feel uniquely yours.

3. Kitchen: Fresh and Fun Designs

The kitchen is often overlooked when it comes to wall art, but it’s a great space to showcase fun, vibrant pieces that add life and energy. Art in the kitchen should reflect its lively nature and functional purpose. Think of food-themed prints, quirky illustrations, or vintage posters to add a touch of personality. You can also incorporate wall art that mirrors the natural elements around you, such as botanical prints or herbs.

Idea: Consider placing a series of food-inspired art or retro-style kitchen signs above a dining table or along an unused wall. A chalkboard art piece can also be a fun, interactive addition where you can write down recipes, quotes, or to-do lists.

4. Dining Room: Elegant and Statement-Making Art

The dining room is often a space for entertaining, so it’s important to create a sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance. For this space, you can afford to go a bit more formal with your art choices. Elegant portraits, vintage still life paintings, or abstract art can make the room feel refined and put-together. Metallic frames, dark wood, or textured canvases work well to add depth and richness to the space.

Idea: A large-scale painting or a series of smaller artworks hung symmetrically over the dining table can make the room feel polished. If you prefer a more modern aesthetic, opt for black-and-white photography or minimalist abstract pieces that bring a sense of calm elegance.

5. Bathroom: Relaxing and Inviting Artwork

While bathrooms are typically smaller spaces, they offer an opportunity to get creative with wall art. Artwork in the bathroom should invoke a sense of calm and relaxation, transforming the space into a personal retreat. Consider adding coastal-themed prints, abstract patterns, or even framed botanical art that ties in with natural elements like water and plants.

Idea: A large mirror framed by smaller, coordinating artwork can create a stylish, modern look. Alternatively, you can use framed illustrations or nature-inspired art that pairs well with the bathroom’s calming tones and materials.

6. Hallways: Creative Accents and Small-Scale Art

Hallways can sometimes be forgotten in the design process, but they present a perfect opportunity to showcase your style. Since hallways tend to be narrow, smaller-scale art or a collection of smaller pieces works best. A gallery wall, for instance, can turn a simple hallway into an eye-catching space. Opt for a series of black-and-white photos, vintage posters, or abstract art that adds depth to the corridor.

Idea: Create a gallery wall with a mix of personal photos, quotes, and artwork that tells a story. You can mix different frame sizes and styles for an eclectic vibe or keep it uniform for a more structured look.

7. Home Office: Inspirational and Motivating Art

Your home office is where productivity and creativity thrive, so it’s essential to create a workspace that inspires you. Choose wall art that motivates and stimulates creativity, such as uplifting quotes, geometric shapes, or artistic representations of your career interests. Inspirational artwork, like positive affirmations or images of landscapes, can help you stay focused and energized throughout the day.

Idea: A combination of framed motivational quotes, nature scenes, and personal achievements can make your home office feel both productive and inspiring. You could also use a large statement piece to add drama and personality to the space.

8. Kids’ Room: Playful and Imaginative Artwork

The walls of a child’s room should encourage imagination, playfulness, and creativity. Choose wall art that is colorful, fun, and whimsical. Whether it’s animated characters, animals, or custom-made art with the child’s name, playful designs can create a cheerful atmosphere. Consider incorporating elements that inspire learning, such as alphabet charts, maps, or growth charts.

Idea: A mural or wall decals can be a great way to bring a child’s room to life. If you want something more dynamic, opt for rotating art displays or colorful frames that allow you to change the pieces as your child grows.

Conclusion

Wall art has the power to completely transform the look and feel of any room in your home. Whether you want to create a cozy retreat in your bedroom, energize your kitchen with fun pieces, or make a statement in your living room, the right art can bring your space to life. By thoughtfully selecting art that complements your room’s function and style, you can infuse your home with personality and character. So, get creative, experiment with different types of art, and enjoy the process of turning your house into a home!

Blessed Geza And His Sugar-Washing Solution | WILBERT MUKORI

Zimbabweans have a penchant for sugar-rush solutions—“Mnangagwa must go”—even at the cost of retaining the dictatorship yet again.

By Wilbert Mukori | “Zimbabwe is in desperate need of transformative leadership, not the routine recycling of failed politicians,” argued Trevor Ncube. “A change in leadership might offer temporary relief, but Zimbabwe’s issues run deeper, demanding a systemic overhaul.”

Could not agree with you more!

God only knows how many golden opportunities we have had to completely overhaul our failed political system—most notably the 2008 to 2013 GNU and the 2017 military coup—and yet, we have wasted them all. All because of greed, breathtaking incompetence, and, yes, our penchant for temporary relief. We would happily give up our freedoms, rights, and human dignity to appease the dictator on the off chance that he will have mercy on us, even when history tells us he will only demand more and double the abuse again and again.

indepth...Wilbert Mukori
indepth…Wilbert Mukori

Zimbabwe is a failed state because the nation has been stuck with this corrupt, incompetent, and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship for 45 years and counting. The party has enjoyed absolute power, including the power to rig elections, stay in power, and loot the nation’s wealth.

Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies have bribed, cajoled, and even killed fellow Zanu PF nationalists, war veterans, and the nation at large to enforce the de facto Zanu PF one-party dictatorship. War veterans in the army, police, and other security forces—whether still in active service, retired, or demobilized in 1980—have been brainwashed to believe that only Zanu PF leaders are fit to rule Zimbabwe and can be trusted to safeguard the nation’s independence and sovereignty. As a result, the army, police, and other security institutions have become departments of the party in all but name, serving the singular agenda of retaining absolute power at all costs.

As much as Blessed Geza and his faction of war veterans are right in condemning Mnangagwa as a corrupt and murderous dictator, they cannot deny that they played a part in imposing him through the 2017 military coup and the rigged elections that followed. They have toned down their criticism, hoping to see VP Chiwenga succeed Mnangagwa, but they will never accept that he must face the acid test of free, fair, and credible elections. Never!

How anyone can fail to see that swapping one dictator for another will solve nothing—especially after 45 years of rigged elections and bad governance—beggars belief!

Zanu PF will never reform itself out of power by accepting free and fair elections. The opposition MDC/CCC failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU, despite having a golden opportunity to do so. Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC colleagues with the trappings of high office, and in return, they forgot about the reforms.

Since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC leaders have continued to participate in flawed elections, legitimizing Zanu PF’s victory for the sake of a few gravy-train seats. They have conned their brain-dead followers into participating based on the idiotic claim that the opposition can win rigged elections. The very fact that millions of Zimbabweans have believed these lies time and time again, even after 45 years of rigged elections, explains why we are a failed state.

Yes, we need a complete systemic overhaul of our failed political system.

“The only way forward, according to Ncube, is through a national, inclusive process that involves all stakeholders, including business leaders, civil society, the Church, labor, women, and youth. These groups must work together to rebuild the country,” reported Bulawayo 24.

Some might argue that the writing of the 2013 Constitution was an inclusive process. Yet, no one can deny that it was another wasted opportunity to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship and replace it with a healthy and functional democracy. A body of 50 or so technocrats could be tasked with drafting the nation’s new democratic constitution. They would only need to use the tried-and-tested constitutions of other nations as a starting point—no need to reinvent the wheel.

It would be deeply disappointing if the momentum built since Mnangagwa took over from Mugabe results in merely replacing one dictator with another. What we want is the end of the dictatorship, not just another fleeting sugar rush from seeing Mnangagwa go—only to be followed by years more of what Trevor Ncube aptly described as “soul-crushing poverty.”

Zanu PF Mobilizes Structures To Support 2030 Agenda ?

By A Correspondent

ZANU PF is reinforcing its grassroots structures through a cell verification exercise, an initiative that insiders suggest is also strategically positioned to bolster support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s potential third-term ambitions.

The ruling party has embarked on a nationwide cell restructuring program, aimed at ensuring the party’s foundations are solidified with accurate and up-to-date data. The verification exercise, now in full swing, is seen as crucial in guaranteeing that the membership base is genuine and engaged, forming the backbone of ZANU PF’s long-term strategy.

During a Special Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting held at the party’s Harare headquarters on Wednesday, ZANU PF’s National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, emphasized the significance of the exercise for the party’s future.

“Cells are our foundation as ZANU PF, and if we have a weak foundation, then we will be shaken,” Cde Machacha explained. “This weekend, visitors from Mashonaland Central, led by Central Committee member Cde Douglas Mombeshora, will be in Harare to verify whether the cells are existent.”

The verification process, which started in Bulawayo and is now underway in Harare, is set to expand to other provinces in March. Should discrepancies or poor-quality work be identified, those responsible will be required to rectify the situation, ensuring that only accurate data is maintained.

“If it is realized that a shoddy job was done, those affected would have to redo it,” Cde Machacha added.

ZANU PF Harare Province Chairperson, Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, spoke proudly of the province’s progress, revealing that they have successfully registered over 400,000 members through the exercise.

“We are ready as a province to have this exercise done. We are sure of the work we did and I can say we managed to register over 400,000 members,” Cde Masimirembwa stated.

This cell verification exercise serves not only as a tool for membership auditing but also aims to recruit new members, particularly from the youth demographic, aligning with ZANU PF’s broader goal of consolidating support ahead of upcoming political events.

While the exercise is officially framed as a way to strengthen the party’s structure, some political insiders view it as a calculated move to secure widespread backing for Mnangagwa’s third-term aspirations and to ensure party loyalty is deeply embedded at every level.

Zanu PF Hardliners Fight In Ramaphosa Corner

By A Correspondent

In a bold call for the complete removal of Western-imposed sanctions, supporters of Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa are pushing for the lifting of restrictions, despite the ongoing issues of human rights violations, corruption, and looting of state resources in the country.

The Citizens Against Economic Sanctions Zimbabwe (CAESZ) held a media briefing in Harare on Wednesday, where the association’s managing director, Cde Martin Zharare, expressed strong support for President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030. He emphasized that the goal is to move the country towards an upper-middle-class society, but this can only be achieved if the illegal sanctions imposed by the United States and its Western allies are removed.

“We are an anti-sanctions lobby group, and we are ready to promote President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 to achieve an upper-middle-class society,” Zharare stated.

He also reiterated the group’s unwavering stance on the removal of sanctions, asserting that Zimbabwe cannot discuss any progress until the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act (ZIDERA) is repealed.

“We will continue to call for the total removal of sanctions by the West on Zimbabwe, and until the Zimbabwe Democracy Economic Recovery Act, ZIDERA, is repealed, we cannot talk of the removal of sanctions; they must go in totality,” Zharare insisted.

Auxillia Mnangagwa Causes Havoc In Masvingo

By A Correspondent

Auxillia Mnangagwa, the First Lady of Zimbabwe, caused major disruptions in Masvingo on Wednesday after instructing local schools to transport students to her rally at the Showgrounds, effectively halting normal school activities for the day.

A school head confirmed the directive, saying, “Yes, we were instructed to release our bus for the rally. Our students also participated in the First Lady’s event.” This unexpected move not only interrupted lessons but also created logistical chaos within the city.

In addition to the disruption in education, Mnangagwa’s security detail caused heavy traffic congestion throughout Masvingo. Observers noted that the high level of security surrounding the First Lady seemed to reflect growing tensions within the Zanu PF party.

In a separate incident, a ZUPCO bus, which was set to ferry Zanu PF supporters to the First Lady’s rally, was swept away by strong floodwaters at Musavezi Bridge in Chivi Ward 3. The bus had not yet picked up passengers when the flooding occurred. The driver was forced to abandon the vehicle and swim to safety.

During her rally, the First Lady took the opportunity to promote her philanthropic initiatives, including donating books to students across the province. “I am proud of my philanthropic efforts,” Mnangagwa said as she presented the books intended to benefit local learners.

Relocated Buhera villager bashed over land

By Own Correspondent

A villager, Jobet Mupengo who was relocated from Ward 12, under Tagarira village following the establishment of Sabi Star Mine was whipped by two police officers over farming land.

Mupengo was summoned by the two police officers whose identities he did not name, at Bhidhiri station and was ordered to lie down before the officers took turns to whip him on his back using baton sticks over a land dispute.

He however indicated that given the chance, he can identify the two police officers.

Mupengo is one of the 44 Buhera families that were relocated and compensated early 2023 by the multi- million dollar lithium mine, Sabi Star Mine, partly owned by Chengxin Lithium Group of China which is operating in partnership with Max Mind Investment Zimbabwe Private Limited in Zimbabwe.

Maxi Mind Investment Zimbabwe Private Limited of 15 Harare Drive Chisipite Harare is a company registered in Zimbabwe according to the Companies Act 24:03. Mr Liu Zheng is one of the company’s shareholders. Sabi Star lithium mine is a subsidiary of Maxi mind Investment Zimbabwe.

A 44 year old father of 4 who was born and bred in Tagarira village, Mupengo told this publication that the dispute over land emanated from failure by the mining firm Sabi Star mine to honour its promise and ensure that those who did not move to Murambinda growth point were compensated agricultural land.

He said after he was relocated, he struggled to get agricultural land and missed two farming seasons since his relocation to his new home as he did not have a field to plough his crops. His livelihood relied on farming.

“I struggled to get any land when I was relocated and I persisted until the village head gave me virgin land which I started clearing. As I was about to finish clearing the land of trees, I was approached by Wonder Mushowe and Mutandwa Makanyo’s families who told me that the land that l have been given by the village head belonged to them”.

Mupengo said the two families claimed that the area he had been allocated was their ancestral land but he referred them back to village head Tagarira since he was the one who had given him the land.

“Our dispute degenerated into almost a physical fight where they confiscated my axe which I was using to clear the land. I reported the matter to Sabhuku Tagarira who summoned the duo to his traditional court but they did not come,” he said.

Mupengo said the two families refused to attend the traditional leader’s court after they were summoned by village head Tagarira’s policeman. The two families were in no show despite several attempts for a meeting at the traditional court.

Mupengo said he was shocked to be summoned by the police 2 days after the two families had refused to attend village head Tagarira’s traditional court. Village head Tagarira was also summoned to the police.

“I was shown my axe confiscated by the Makanyus and interrogated on why I was clearing their land. They queried who had given me the authority to clear that land and which law l had used for my actions. The policeman denigrated the village head and said he was not EMA and had no authority to allow anyone to cut down trees.”

Mupengo said the police officers threatened him and the village head.

Efforts to get a comment from the police were futile by the time of writing. Village head Tagarira’s mobile phone was also not reachable.

Human rights lawyer Paida Saurombe said the police should not be at the forefront of land disputes as this is the mandate of traditional leaders adding that land disputes are issues that should be dealt with by traditional leaders such as village heads and chiefs.

He said chiefs have their own police who have the mandate to summon the aggrieved so that their issues are resolved peacefully at a traditional level.

“Beating people and torturing them is not allowed at law. It is abuse of power when the police beat up civilians. It is also impunity if police officers engage in such because they have power. When they subject people to beatings, it is a violation of the Constitution,” said advocate Saurombe.

“It amounts to torture and a violation of one’s human dignity because they are subjected to beatings. Communities whose rights are violated by the police should report these violations at other police stations or higher offices for redress. When they report, such police officers are charged with assault and in terms of the Police Act.”

Chitungwiza residents fume over hefty “durawall” fine

By Own Correspondent

Chitungwiza residents have expressed shock over the latest move by their local authority for homeowners and businesses to regularize their precast walls or pay fines ranging between $150 and $200 or have them demolished.

According to a notice issued by Chitungwiza municipality Acting Town Clerk, Japson Nemuseso dated 27 January 2024, homeowners and businesses with unapproved durawalls should complete the necessary approval processes before 28 February 2025 or pay stated penalty fines or have them demolished.

Read the notice:

“Please also note that those who are not within their boundaries should revert back to original pegs.

The council is waiving the US$200 penalty fee for each approval stage to people who respond to this call before 28 February 2025. Those who respond before the deadline will only pay US$150 approval fee.”

In the notice, residents are advised that if compliance is not achieved within a month, the municipality will not hesitate to demolish the durawalls at a cost that will be met by their owners.

“This notice was issued in terms of the Regional, Town and Country Plan- and the Roads Act (Chapter 13: 18),” said Nemuseso.

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Ward 16 councilor, Michael Mukashi said while the move by the local authority to effect such hefty fines was harsh, the onus was also on residents to follow the existing by- laws regarding the construction and maintenance of durawalls.

“Council is on record issuing a directive to residents to ensure that weep holes are there on their precast walls to avoid inconveniencing other residents this rainy season. The same residents ignore such calls only to cry foul when council is taking measures to protect the same residents against flooding and encroaching on other people’s property.”

Weep holes in durawalls are small openings at the base of a wall that allow water to drain and prevent water from pooling behind the wall, which can cause structural damage, mold, and even collapse.

Mukashi said in Ward 16, there were residents who deliberately closed weep holes causing flooding at some houses while others closed water leeways that ensured proper drainage of roads and homes in the community.

“The latest notice is informed by a local government ministry recommendation to reduce cases of flooding this rainy season. There are durawalls that have been constructed that encroach on roads and it is the duty of the city fathers to ensure compliance and adherence to the by-laws.”

He said while residents were justified that the fines were hefty, residents should also comply with the by- laws to avoid being caught on the wrong side of the law.

Chitungwiza and Manyame Rural Residents Association (CAMERA) director, Marvelous Khumalo said since the establishment of the town of Chitungwiza (in 1996), the durawalls that were built during this time were built without any form of approval from council and the local authority did not take any action.

“Chitungwiza municipality was sleeping on duty when these structures were being built and now they are coming to rectify that challenge because some of these structures were built encroaching on other people’s property and on roads,” said Khumalo.
He said for council to just come up and say everyone should regularize or pay a fine is a bit unfair.

“Council needs to sit down with the affected constituency and consult and dialogue with residents and their representatives first.

They should find out how best to deal with the challenge instead of just imposing fines.”

He however said the regularisation fee of $150 was justified considering that anyone who needed to construct their structure was supposed to pay $200 stage approval fee.

“If you build your structure without any approval there is a fine but what needs to be clear is if this figure is a once off fee.

Stakeholders involvement is key.”
Chitungwiza Residents Association (CHITREST) director Alice Kuvheya however said besides the fine being hefty, council management had misplaced priorities.

“The fine is not justified at all. The council does not know where their priorities are. They are prioritizing on durawalls, instead of houses.

We have sewer flowing in our houses for months which is not attended to, workers are not being paid. They never consulted us because we only woke up to a social media notice on durawalls,” said Kuvheya.

Residents who spoke to this publication however expressed concern at the move by the local authority accusing the city fathers of prioritizing fundraising ahead of service delivery.

Said Monica Dube:

“Can Chitungwiza municipality prioritise service delivery ahead of fines. They are failing to give us water for years, collect refuse and repair roads yet they are very good at imposing hefty fines.”

Added Mike Bhaureni:

“Chitungwiza municipality has inherited the spirit of finance minister Mthuli Ncube who is in the habit of charging locals exorbitant figures of foreign currency as if we are foreigners. Muchatopaza Chitungwiza yose meaning you will have to demolish the whole of Chitungwiza.”

Zanu PF Embarks On Cell Verification Exercise As Infighting Continues

Mnangagwa Loyalists Call For Removal Of Sanctions

Magistrate Fined For Reckless Driving

By A Correspondent

In a significant ruling, Makunde Timeon Tavengwa, a 46-year-old Magistrate employed by the Judicial Service Commission, has been fined USD400 or sentenced to five months in prison for culpable homicide.

This verdict comes after a fatal road accident on November 22, 2023, where Tavengwa’s Nissan X-Trail collided with Misheck Makuvire, a school pupil crossing the Harare-Masvingo Road. The child tragically died on the spot from head injuries.

Investigations revealed that the accident occurred in clear daylight on a wide tarred road, and Tavengwa was found negligent in two key areas: failing to keep a proper lookout and speeding . This ruling serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, and those in positions of authority will be held accountable for their actions.

Game-Over-for ED As Mutsvangwa Praises Blessed Geza As A Trained Military Field Officer With Accurate Intelligence

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | When Mnangagwa flies back, he’s stepping into a country whose ruling party now casts doubt on him as their leader– In a tell-all press conference, and on the same day the Women’s League’s Secretary suggested in vocalisations that Emmerson Mnangagwa is no longer president of Zimbabwe, ZANU PF Information Secretary Christopher Mutsvangwa used his gig to endorse the party’s rebellious Central Committee member Blessed Geza, as a trained military field officer possessing predominantly accurate intelligence.

The development marks Day 2 following a ZimEye exclusive broadcast that revealed Geza and his team are legitimate war veterans who in June 2023 revived the Liberators Platform on the ZimEye news network.

Said Mutsvangwa, “What I can say is that some of intelligence which is being given is definitely wrong. He mentioned the other day that my son was in he was incarcerated by the President. It’s not true. I told you. I had an interview with you today. I know who was behind the incarceration of my son in a false incarceration in May last year.

And I know why, why, the reasons why it was being done, the political reasons why it was being done, the President had nothing to do with it, and he had to come back and undo that thing, but undo it in a manner which did not arouse, you know, the anxieties that you may be interfering with the judiciary. So it had to be a long, drawn out affair. But me, my wife, who is the Minister Of Women Affairs, we know that the President had nothing to do with it. So bombshell is wrong. Comrade Bombshell (war name for Blessed Geza) is wrong to try to accuse the president.

It’s not true. Rather, the people who are telling him to go on televisions are the ones who are behind the persecution of my son. So I must say I’m surprised – For a field combat officer, he normally has got very good intelligence, because he wouldn’t have survived the war as a guerilla fighter if his intelligence was fraught. I don’t know why he’s being misled by being given chicken feed. It’s in intelligence.;

What he is being given is called chicken feed that my son was incarcerated by the President and that I should not have a relationship with the president because he incarcerated my son. It’s not true. I want to put it on record. You.“

Meanwhile, the Womens League secretary Mabel Chinomona appeared in an official ZANU PF video clip during the day in which he referred to Mnangagwa as a former president.

Mabel Chinomona who is President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ex girlfriend, suggested he is no more president, as she said: “Tine, 10 provinces as I remember it, yakataura kuti inoda kuti vaMnangagwa vawedzere hutongi hwavo, kusvika 2030, meaning from 2028, pawedzerwe two years. Sei ma provinces ese, vakaona? Vanogutsikana nekutungamira kwava Mnangagwa, nema programs, nema projects, nezvese zvavakasimudza mukati menyika panguva yavo yavaitungamira.

ENGLISH: We have, as I remember it, 10 provinces who said they want Mnangagwa to extend his rule until 2030, meaning from 2028, an additional two years.Did all the provinces agree? The fact is they are satisfied with Mnangagwa’s leadership, the programs, the projects, and everything he developed in the country during the time he was in office.”

Meanwhile, Geza is on record announcing that Mnangagwa is not at all a fighter but a nationalist who has been tricking the masses since 1977, and below is how the Zvishavane man has been deceiving ZANU PF since 1977.

Mnangagwa Appoints Two Ministers

By Munacho Gwamanda- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed two new deputy ministers just two days after firing Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs Minister Apollonia Mudzwerengwi, a move widely seen as part of the ongoing political tussle between him and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Mudzwerengwi, a known ally of Chiwenga, was dismissed from her post for allegedly mobilizing support for the Vice President, fueling speculation of an intensified power struggle between the two leaders as the battle for Zanu PF’s future leadership heats up.

In a statement released Thursday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya announced that Mnangagwa had appointed Caleb Makwiranzou as Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development, responsible for Oil and Gas Research, and Albert Tawanda Mavunga as Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, overseeing Local Authorities and Traditional Leadership.

Mudzwerengwi’s dismissal is widely seen as Mnangagwa’s attempt to weaken Chiwenga’s influence within Zanu PF structures.

She was reportedly a key mobilizer for the Vice President in Mashonaland East, a strategic province in the ruling party’s internal politics.

The fallout between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga has been brewing since the 2017 military coup that ousted longtime ruler Robert Mugabe.

Chiwenga, who played a pivotal role in bringing Mnangagwa to power, was initially seen as a kingmaker but has since been sidelined as Mnangagwa consolidates his grip on power.

Over the past few years, Mnangagwa has systematically removed or neutralized key figures aligned with Chiwenga, including senior military personnel who played significant roles in the coup.

The appointment of Makwiranzou and Mavunga is seen as part of Mnangagwa’s broader strategy to strengthen his hold on key government institutions and reward loyalists.

The mining sector, which Makwiranzou will help oversee, is one of Zimbabwe’s most lucrative industries, often entangled with high-level political manoeuvring.

Meanwhile, Mavunga’s role in local government will be crucial in managing traditional leaders, who play a significant role in rural political mobilization—a key voter base for Zanu PF.

Mnangagwa’s recent political maneuvers indicate that the battle for succession within Zanu PF is far from over.

As 2028 approaches, when Mnangagwa is expected to seek a controversial third term, tensions within the ruling party are likely to escalate, with Chiwenga and his allies potentially pushing back against the President’s consolidation of power.

Geza’s US$1.3 Million Land Dispute Raises Questions Over His Wealth

By Courts and Crime Reporter-The highly anticipated trial of former Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) boss Basil Nyabadza, accused of defrauding outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza of US$1.3 million, failed to commence on Thursday at the Harare Magistrates’ Court.

Nyabadza’s defence team requested additional particulars from the State to prepare adequately for trial.

The State alleges that on October 29, 2020, Geza purchased a 423,504-hectare piece of land from Nyabadza for US$1,362,000.

According to prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, Geza was granted sole authority to subdivide, develop, and sell the land.

However, Nyabadza allegedly misrepresented that the property had title deeds and assured Geza that the documents would be provided within a month—a promise that was never fulfilled.

Complications arose when Geza sought subdivision permits from the Mashonaland West Department of Physical Planning, only to discover that the land had already been sold to Velda Estates.

Further engagements with Nyabadza proved futile, as Geza learned that the sale agreement had been cancelled without his knowledge.

Despite the gravity of the allegations, questions linger over Geza’s financial capacity to purchase such an expansive and expensive property.

As an ex-combatant positioning himself as a voice against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s corruption, the source of Geza’s US$1.3 million remains unclear.

His ability to enter such a high-stakes land deal raises concerns about how he accumulated such wealth—was it through legitimate means, political connections, or other undisclosed sources?

Nyabadza’s defence, led by lawyer Tazorora Musarurwa, has demanded further clarification from the State regarding the financial transactions.

“Provide a breakdown of how this amount was calculated,” Musarurwa argued, questioning whether Geza actually paid the full US$1.3 million.

The defence also requested proof of payments, including receipts and bank statements, given that records allegedly show Geza only paid US$112,000.

Mnangagwa In Panic Mode

By Munacho Gwamanda-President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his family are reportedly in panic mode following a dramatic ultimatum issued this week by outspoken war veteran Blessing Geza, who demanded that the president resign immediately.

However, Geza’s faction has dismissed the charges as politically motivated, warning that any attempt to arrest or assassinate him would be met with fierce resistance.

“Any arrest or assassination as of now will be a declaration of war in this country. I have to repeat again, you have placed violence for no offense,” a spokesperson for Geza’s group stated.

Political analysts and Geza’s supporters argue that the accusations are a ploy to silence one of Mnangagwa’s most vocal opponents ahead of an escalating power struggle within ZANU-PF.

“This is a classic Mnangagwa regime tactic—using law enforcement to silence those who expose corruption and demand accountability,” said a war veteran aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s camp.

Geza has been relentless in his criticism of Mnangagwa’s alleged misgovernance, corruption, and his push for an unconstitutional third term.

He has also accused the president of reneging on a supposed gentleman’s agreement with Chiwenga, under which power was expected to rotate after two terms.

Mnangagwa’s refusal to step down has deepened tensions within ZANU-PF, with factions now openly expressing discontent.

Sources within the security sector suggest that Mnangagwa and his inner circle are growing increasingly anxious.

“The president received the message loud and clear. He is now panicking, and so is his family. His sons have been placed under heightened state security as fears grow over potential moves against them,” a senior government source revealed.

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Right Hair Extension for Your Hair Type

Choosing the right hair extension depends on your natural hair type, texture, and desired outcome. The first step is identifying your hair’s texture and thickness. If you have fine or thin hair, lightweight extensions like clip-ins made from synthetic or lighter human hair are ideal. These add volume and length without weighing down your natural strands. For thicker hair, you may want to consider tape-in, sew-in, or fusion (keratin bond) extensions, as these provide more durability and a fuller, long-lasting result.

Next, think about your hair’s texture. If your hair is straight, it’s easy to blend in various types of extensions, but if you have wavy or curly hair, you’ll want extensions that match that texture. Opting for wavy or curly extensions will create a more natural look and prevent any harsh lines or noticeable differences.

Color matching is key to a flawless appearance. Extensions come in a wide range of shades, so make sure to pick one that matches your natural hair color or complements it for a natural blend. For the most authentic look, high-quality human hair extensions are recommended as they blend well, are easy to style, and last longer.

Finally, consulting with a professional stylist can help ensure that you select the right type and method for your hair type and goals.

FURNITURE SOLD: Walter Magaya Falls Into Bankruptcy While Promising Giant Stadiums And USD4 Million Cash

An auction announced
BREAKING NEWS: WALTER MAGAYA’S BELONGINGS AUCTIONED AMID GRAND STADIUM PROMISES Harare – February 13, 2025 By A Correspondent | ZimEye | While Prophet Walter Magaya has been making headlines for his grand vision of building a world-class stadium and injecting $4 million into Zimbabwean football, reality is catching up with him in a shocking manner. Today, LM Auctioneers announced a court-ordered auction of assets belonging to PhD Ministries due to financial disputes, exposing what appears to be a growing financial crisis. The auction listing, which includes approximately 5000 plastic chairs, forklifts, generators, TVs, trailers, and even assorted speakers, suggests that essential items from Magaya’s ministry are now under the hammer. This follows a legal case Simon Tendai vs. PhD Ministries (Case # HRECCG779/24), indicating that creditors have moved to recover outstanding debts. This development raises serious questions about Magaya’s ambitious stadium project, which he has repeatedly promised to construct, touting it as a game-changer for Zimbabwean sports. If he cannot retain basic furniture and essential equipment, how viable is his dream of building a multi-million-dollar sports facility? The auction is set to take place on Thursday, 13 February 2025, at 1 Sherwood Drive, Simon Mazorodze Road, Waterfalls, Harare, with deposits of $1000 required for vehicles and heavy-duty generators. With critics already skeptical of his stadium plans, this auction might just confirm their fears—that Magaya’s financial empire is crumbling while he continues to paint a picture of prosperity and progress. Could this be the beginning of the end for PhD Ministries, or will Magaya find a way to bounce back? For now, the evidence is clear: while he dreams of stadiums, reality is taking away his furniture.

Court Defers Mnangagwa Ally Fraud Case

By A Correspondent| The fraud case against Cynthia Gambiza, a member of the Teachers for ED group and owner of Destiny Achievers College in Domboshava, has been postponed to February 24 after her defence counsel cited that they had not been furnished with court documents.

Gambiza, 49, appeared before Harare Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki facing multiple fraud charges related to the alleged misappropriation of Cambridge Examination fees amounting to US$4,000 from parents of Ordinary Level students.

The allegations stem from an incident involving Rachel Munhenga, who enrolled her daughter, Gaumuchirai Matsenga, at Destiny Achievers College in Glen Forest in 2021. Believing the school to be a registered Cambridge examination centre—an assertion widely promoted on social media and billboards—Munhenga paid US$700 in May 2024 for her daughter’s October-November exams.

However, in September 2024, Munhenga received a WhatsApp message from Gambiza, informing her that her daughter would not be sitting for the exams due to non-registration, purportedly because she lacked a national identity document.

Investigations later revealed that other parents had also been deceived in a similar manner, raising concerns about the legitimacy of Destiny Achievers College.

The defence argued that they had not received essential court documents, prompting the magistrate to defer the matter to February 24.

She remains out on bail pending the next hearing.

Bosso Receive Chivayo Dirty Cash To Clear Debt

Sports Correspondent

Highlanders Football Club has avoided a transfer ban, thanks to businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who intervened to settle a debt owed to former coach Baltemar Brito and his assistant, Antonio Joao Torres.

The club faced the potential sanction by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee after failing to clear a debt of $26,500.

Chivayo stepped in to help cover the amount, and the payment has now been made, as confirmed by the club’s statement.

In a post, Highlanders expressed their gratitude: “Highlanders Football Club would like to extend its sincerest thanks to Mr. Wicknell Chivayo for his generous gesture in fully settling the outstanding debts of our two coaches, as promised.

“Sir Wicknell has been a long-time supporter of ithimu yezwe lonke, offering tangible help to the club since 2017.

“As we approach our 100-year anniversary, Bosso can count on his ongoing support for this great institution. We once again convey our heartfelt appreciation.”

Combining Skill And Patience On The Road

Driving requires not only skill but also patience, awareness, and respect for other road users. In many situations, drivers may feel the urge to overtake a slower vehicle, but it’s crucial to recognize when doing so could be dangerous or inconsiderate. One such situation is when the vehicle ahead signals an intention to overtake another vehicle.

Why You Shouldn’t Overtake in This Situation

When the car in front of you signals to overtake, it indicates that the driver is preparing to pass another vehicle. If you attempt to overtake the vehicle while they are trying to do so, it can create a hazardous situation for everyone on the road. The vehicle in front of you might need more space or time to safely complete the maneuver, and your overtaking could interfere with their ability to do so effectively. This can lead to accidents, traffic disruptions, and increased stress for all drivers involved.

Patience Is Key

Sometimes, it’s easy to feel impatient or frustrated when you are stuck behind a vehicle moving at a slower pace. However, the best approach in such situations is to remain patient. Overtaking at an inappropriate moment not only risks accidents but also contributes to unnecessary road rage. By waiting until the vehicle in front has completed its maneuver, you contribute to the smooth flow of traffic and make the road a safer place for everyone.

Drive in Your Lane

One of the most important aspects of driving safely is adhering to lane discipline. Changing lanes without proper consideration, overtaking when it’s unsafe, or cutting across traffic are all behaviors that increase the risk of accidents. Staying in your lane and respecting the road markings will reduce confusion and allow you to react appropriately to changing conditions.

Conclusion

In essence, it’s crucial to stay sane and drive responsibly. Patience and lane discipline should always be your guiding principles. Overtake only when it’s safe to do so and never at the expense of others. Respecting the signals and intentions of other drivers will help you navigate the roads with greater confidence and, most importantly, safety. Remember: it’s better to arrive late than to never arrive at all.

Mnangagwa Receives Controversial Award from Africa Youth Congress

Floodwaters Sweep Away Bus En Route to Auxillia Mnangagwa Rally

MP Appeals to US Government to Review Stance On Health-Related Aid

By Own Correspondent

Zivai Mhetu, the legislator for Epworth North constituency, has made a heartfelt plea to the United States government to reconsider its decision to halt health-related foreign aid, urging them to continue supporting vital health services that save lives in Zimbabwe.

Mhetu expressed concern that the sudden suspension of aid is severely impacting healthcare delivery in his constituency. He made the remarks after visiting several health facilities in Epworth North, following a directive by former US President Donald Trump to cease aid to African countries.

Mhetu stated:
“Prior notice on cutting aid—at least 24 months—would have been appropriate, as the abrupt halt not only jeopardizes the beneficiaries but also violates legitimate expectations. The Zimbabwean government passed its budget in December 2024, and covering this gap may require a supplementary budget, which is unlikely due to the already heavy tax burden on citizens.”

He revealed that the aid cut has resulted in a reduction of staff at local health clinics, further straining the already limited resources and staff. “I was informed of staff reductions at Epworth Poly and Overspill clinics after Zimtech and PEPFAR withdrew 6 nurses and 5 primary counselors from Epworth Poly Clinic. At Overspill Clinic, 5 nurses and 4 primary counselors also left, while 1 nurse and 2 primary counselors departed from Epworth Mission Clinic. The remaining staff are overwhelmed, and the District Medical Officer has called for the government to send in locum staff to fill the gap.”

In a recent statement, the US Embassy in Zimbabwe announced that all US-related funding is under review to align with Washington’s foreign policy priorities.

The embassy’s statement reads:
“The review of all foreign assistance programs will ensure they are efficient and consistent with U.S. foreign policy under the America First agenda. The US Embassy in Zimbabwe has paused its foreign assistance and is reviewing its programs to align with this Executive Order and the waiver.”

The statement, quoting Secretary Rubio, emphasized that every aid dollar must advance America’s national interests.

The US has long been a key partner in supporting Zimbabwe’s health and food security sectors. Through PEPFAR, the US has helped improve the health of 1.2 million Zimbabweans living longer, healthier lives due to access to HIV services. Over 1,600 public hospitals and clinics have also benefited from US-funded training and technical support.

PEPFAR remains a crucial part of Zimbabwe’s efforts to combat HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, providing antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) and condoms.

As the representative for Epworth North, Mhetu has taken it upon himself to engage with various donor agencies and well-wishers to ensure that health centres in his constituency have adequate medication supplies, despite the funding cuts.

Geza In Hiding As Mnangagwa Panics

By Munacho Gwamanda-Outspoken war veteran and fierce critic of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Blessing Geza, has gone into hiding after police announced on Wednesday that they are seeking his arrest on “multiple” criminal charges.

According to a statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on February 12, 2025, Geza is wanted for alleged theft, undermining the authority of the president, and incitement to commit public violence.

However, the charges are widely seen as politically motivated, aimed at silencing one of Mnangagwa’s most vocal opponents.

Geza’s supporters argue that the accusations are a ploy to neutralize him ahead of a potential showdown within ZANU-PF.

“This is a classic Mnangagwa regime tactic—using law enforcement to silence those who expose corruption and demand accountability,” said a war veteran aligned with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s camp.

Geza has been relentless in his criticism of Mnangagwa’s alleged misgovernance, corruption, and push for an unconstitutional third term.

He has also accused the president of reneging on a supposed gentleman’s agreement with Chiwenga, under which power was expected to rotate after two terms.

Mnangagwa’s refusal to step down has fueled tensions within ZANU-PF, with factions now openly expressing their discontent.

Calls for his resignation have intensified following Chiwenga’s speech at the National Heroes Acre last week, where he made a thinly veiled attack on corrupt businessmen linked to the president.

Chiwenga, a key figure in the 2017 coup, warned against individuals exploiting state resources for personal gain—a remark widely interpreted as targeting Mnangagwa’s close associates, including his sons and powerful business allies.

Sources within the security sector suggest that Mnangagwa and his inner circle are growing increasingly anxious.

“The president received the message loud and clear. He is now panicking, and so is his family. His sons have been placed under heightened state security as fears grow over potential moves against them,” a senior government source revealed.

With internal party divisions deepening and Geza’s persecution seen as part of a broader crackdown on dissent, Mnangagwa’s grip on power appears more precarious than ever.

ED Advisor’s Farm A Model For Integrated Agric Production

By A Correspondent| Presidential Advisor Paul Tungwarara’s farm has become a model for integrated agricultural production, excelling in maize cultivation, fish farming, poultry rearing, and animal husbandry.

Located in the heart of Chegutu, the farm is not only boosting local food security but also setting a standard for modern, eco-friendly farming practices.

Utilizing advanced irrigation techniques and climate-resilient seed varieties, the farm is proving to be a beacon of model agriculture.

“When I went to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s farm at Precabe, I was motivated and I told myself that I should copy and paste what he was doing at his farm. It is what motivated me,” Tungwarara said.

Tungwarara’s team has also adopted conservation agriculture methods, such as minimal tillage and crop rotation, to maintain soil fertility and reduce environmental impact.

“Our goal is to ensure that maize production is not only sustainable but also capable of meeting the needs of our communities,” Tungwarara said during a tour of the farm.

The surplus maize is sold locally at GMB, providing affordable food options and supporting the livelihoods of nearby farmers.

“Our main crop is maize. We have already acquired machines to process oil and the by-products would be used for cattle and pig feeds,” he said.

The farm’s fish ponds are a testament to the potential of aquaculture in addressing protein deficiencies.

Tilapia is the primary fish type and is reared, growing in well-maintained ponds that use recirculating water systems to minimize waste.

This approach ensures efficient resource use while producing high-quality fish for local markets.

Tungwarara emphasized the importance of fish farming in combating malnutrition, particularly in rural areas.

“Fish is a rich source of protein and essential nutrients. By promoting aquaculture, we are not only creating jobs but also improving the health of our people,” he said.
The poultry section of the farm is a hive of activity with hundreds of free range chickens raised for both meat and egg production.

The farm employs modern housing systems that ensure the birds’ welfare while maximizing productivity.

The farm’s animal husbandry operations include cattle and goats, all reared with a focus on sustainable practices.

Livestock are fed on a diet of farm-grown fodder and crop residues, reducing the need for external feed sources.

The 800 plus cattle herd, primarily composed of several breeds, is bred for both meat and dairy production.

Tungwarara’s farm is more than just a commercial enterprise; it is a hub of innovation and community development.

By integrating maize production, fish farming, poultry rearing, and animal husbandry, the farm demonstrates how diverse agricultural activities can coexist harmoniously, benefiting both the environment and the economy.

Army Speaks On Coup

Munacho Gwamanda- The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has dismissed a statement purportedly issued by individuals claiming to be soldiers planning a coup against President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

This comes amid growing internal rifts within the ruling ZANU PF party and escalating tensions between Mnangagwa and his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

ZNA spokesperson Alphios Makotore told ZimEye that he was unaware of any officers involved in the alleged coup attempt.

“Which officer and on what subject issues?” he questioned, before adding, “I don’t comment on such issues since I am no longer in that office. Kindly contact Defence Headquarters.”

His response follows a statement released by an anonymous group claiming to represent sections of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

The group, speaking in a military-style declaration, accused President Mnangagwa of orchestrating the assassinations of high-ranking army generals and warned of impending action to “protect the Constitution from counter-revolutionary gangsters.”

The coup threats come in the wake of controversial statements by Blessing Geza, a war veteran and Zanu PF central committee member with strong ties to security forces.

Geza has repeatedly alleged that Mnangagwa his family and thier  close allies, were corrupt and are distroying the country.

His outbursts have fueled speculation that discontent within the security sector is reaching a breaking point.

Geza has also been vocal about the ongoing power struggle between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga.

The vice president, who played a pivotal role in the 2017 military coup that ousted Robert Mugabe, is believed to be losing patience with Mnangagwa’s consolidation of power.

Reports suggest that Chiwenga, backed by senior military officials, is growing increasingly frustrated with Mnangagwa’sgovernance, patronage networks, and the marginalization of key military figures in government affairs.

The rift between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga has been a defining feature of Zimbabwean politics since 2017.

While Mnangagwa initially relied on military support to ascend to power, his subsequent moves to sideline key army figures have deepened divisions.

Chiwenga, a former army general with strong ties to the security establishment, has maintained a strategic silence in recent months, leading to speculation that he may be preparing to challenge Mnangagwa’s rule.

The recent alledged military statement directly referenced Mnangagwa’s alleged role in a series of political assassinations, naming prominent figures such as:

  1. General Vitalis Zvinavashe
  2. General Solomon Mujuru
  3. General Charles Gumbo
  4. General Sibusiso Moyo
  5. Air Marshal Perence Shiri
  6. Brigadier General Armstrong Gunda
  7. Major General Trust Mugoba
  8. Major General Douglas Nyakayaramba
  9. Colonel Francis Muleya
  10. Lieutenant General Edzai Chimoyo
  11. Commissioner General Paradzai Zimondi
  12. Brigadier General Michael Chaminuka

The statement also accused Mnangagwa’s administration of widespread corruption, economic mismanagement, and the systematic oppression of war veterans and junior security officers.

The statement issued by the anonymous military group outlined a plan to “take action” against Mnangagwa’s government if conditions did not improve. It called on junior officers in the army, police, and intelligence services to prepare for a“constitutional intervention.”

“The majority of you are living in abject poverty while the ruling elite loots national resources,” the statement read. “We urge you to defend the Constitution from kleptocratic rulers who treat the national treasury as their personal bank account.”

Additionally, the statement warned key Mnangagwa loyalists, including:

  • Owen Ncube
  • Ziyambi Ziyambi
  • Daniel Garwe
  • Kazembe Kazembe
  • Tatenda Mavetera
  • Jenfan Muswere
  • Businessman Wicknell Chivayo

The group accused them of insulting war veterans and manipulating the security sector for political gain.

Despite the coup threats, the Mnangagwa administration has maintained a firm grip on the state security apparatus.

The government has ramped up surveillance, and there are reports of increased deployments of intelligence operatives within the armed forces.

Analysts warn that while the statement may not signal an immediate coup, it reflects growing discontent within the security establishment.

Kirsty Coventry Stirs Controversy With Comments On Transgender Athletes

Sports Correspondent

Kirsty Coventry, a leading candidate to become the next president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has sparked controversy with her strong stance on transgender athletes. Coventry has expressed support for a blanket ban on transgender athletes competing against individuals of the opposite sex, which could significantly impact those aiming to participate in such events and pursue Olympic gold.

In addition to her Olympic achievements, Coventry serves as Zimbabwe’s Sports Minister.

The former Olympic swimmer, who has been a member of the IOC executive board since 2018, is now campaigning for the IOC presidency. Coventry has voiced her belief in a blanket ban on transgender athletes in Olympic events, as reported by the UK’s The Telegraph.

“Protecting women’s sports and maintaining fairness in female categories is crucial,” Coventry said. “It’s a priority for us all to come together on this issue.”

She pointed to increasing scientific research, stating, “We aren’t discussing how this issue affects men’s sports, which highlights the need to protect women’s sports.”

Coventry, who has earned seven Olympic medals in swimming, including two golds, also argued that “transgender women possess physical advantages in female categories, which could deny women equal opportunities.” Drawing from her experience, she emphasized the challenges of allowing men to compete against women, especially in contact sports.

Coventry also reflected on her role overseeing the Paris Olympics, where athletes Lin Yuting and Imane Khelif won gold in boxing, despite having been previously excluded from competing in women’s events by the International Boxing Association. “We will always learn from such experiences,” Coventry noted, adding that the Paris Olympics were an important moment for such lessons.

Defence Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri In India For Secret Assignment?

By A Correspondent

The timing of Defence Minister Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri’s trip to India raises suspicions, especially amid the ongoing Zanu PF power struggles. As the party faces a deep internal divide, one faction aligns with President Mnangagwa’s bid for a third term, while another vehemently opposes it, creating an atmosphere of political tension.

Muchinguri-Kashiri’s trip, officially to attend the Defence Ministers’ Conclave in India, appears to serve as more than just a diplomatic mission. The Conclave, running until February 15, is expected to discuss global defence and security issues of mutual interest. While these topics are crucial, the timing suggests there might be a hidden agenda behind her visit.

Her bilateral meetings with Indian officials, including her Indian counterpart, could provide a cover for behind-the-scenes political maneuvering. Could she be securing support for Mnangagwa’s third term ambitions? Or is this a move to strengthen her own position in the party as factions vie for influence? Given the high stakes within Zanu PF, her presence in India could signal more than just a routine diplomatic engagement.

As Muchinguri-Kashiri attends the conclave, her actions and the outcomes of her meetings will undoubtedly be scrutinized in the context of Zimbabwe’s ongoing political turbulence.

Harare, Zimbabwe – President Emmerson Mnangagwa suffered a major embarrassment at the National Heroes Acre, as his small group of supporters was overpowered by the voices of a massive crowd singing in opposition, exposing deep divisions within the ruling Zanu PF party.

The chaotic scenes, which unfolded two days ago, sent shockwaves across Zimbabwe, further highlighting the growing discontent with Mnangagwa’s leadership. This comes at a time when his handful of backers remain unhinged, pushing for an indefinite extension of his presidency beyond constitutional limits.

Mnangagwa’s Backers Demand “Eternal Rule” Amidst Growing Resistance

Leading the call for Mnangagwa’s continued rule is Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans, Douglas Mahiya, who issued threats against fellow war veterans who oppose extending Mnangagwa’s presidency. Mahiya directly warned those challenging the Zanu PF leader’s rule, stating that they could be “stopped from speaking indefinitely.”

His comments were seemingly directed at Blessed Runesu Geza and his faction of war veterans, who have been vocal in their opposition to Mnangagwa’s leadership, citing corruption, nepotism, and economic collapse as reasons why the president should step down.

A Party in Crisis: Mnangagwa’s Supporters Threaten Opponents

Speaking at a war veterans’ gathering in Bulawayo, Mahiya shockingly suggested that, under different leadership, Zanu PF could have declared a state of emergency and suspended elections indefinitely, effectively turning Zimbabwe into a dictatorship.

“We were sanctioned by the West. That’s a sign that we are in a war. When a country has sanctions, when people are in a war, they can stop going for elections and declare a state of emergency,” Mahiya stated, arguing that Mnangagwa had been “too lenient” by allowing elections to continue.

Mahiya justified extending Mnangagwa’s term, arguing that Western sanctions constituted a “war situation”, which, under a different leader, could have led to the suspension of democracy.

“Had Mnangagwa not been a principled leader, the ruling party could have declared a state of emergency, suspended elections, and ensured his indefinite rule,” he said, implying that only death could remove Mnangagwa from power.

Mnangagwa’s Supporters Face Backlash

While a small faction within Zanu PF continues to push for Mnangagwa’s rule beyond 2030, his presence at the National Heroes Acre painted a completely different picture. His supporters were overwhelmed and drowned out by the voices of the majority in attendance, who sang in a manner that embarrassed the Zanu PF leader.

The incident underscores the deepening fractures within the ruling party, as tensions escalate between those supporting Mnangagwa’s indefinite rule and those demanding change.

Mahiya Issues More Threats: “We Will Stop You”

In a chilling statement, Mahiya openly threatened war veterans who refuse to back Mnangagwa, warning that they would face consequences for speaking out.

“If you refuse, we have the right, although forbidden by the law, to act otherwise to stop you indefinitely from saying such things,” Mahiya declared, suggesting that dissent would not be tolerated.

He also dismissed the idea that war veterans had independent political agency, saying:

“Going to Zambia (for training during the liberation struggle) does not give you the power to refuse what the majority want. If you do not follow what people want, your war veteran status is useless.”

A Desperate Push for Mnangagwa’s Extended Rule

Mahiya insisted that Mnangagwa’s leadership should be extended indefinitely, invoking Resolution Number One from the Zanu PF National People’s Conference in Bulawayo, which endorsed Mnangagwa’s rule until at least 2030.

“The president will not say what I am saying, but if we take the principle of the revolution that the minority is subordinate to the majority, it means the president has to accept as well what has been said by the people,” Mahiya said, implying that Mnangagwa himself must accept an extension to his term.

Factionalism Threatens Zanu PF’s Future

Mahiya also accused opposing war veterans of working with the opposition to create instability within Zanu PF, warning that the party could lose the next election if internal divisions continue.

“There are different war veteran associations coming up so that during the next elections, Zanu PF loses. They want to divide you so that you disagree with your party and government,” he claimed.

However, the reality at Heroes Acre two days ago suggests that Mnangagwa is quickly losing control, as the masses no longer align with his leadership, despite the desperate attempts of his inner circle to keep him in power.

What Happens Next?

The embarrassing scenes at Heroes Acre serve as a clear warning that Mnangagwa’s grip on power is slipping. While a few die-hard supporters continue to push for his indefinite rule, the public display of resistance signals that his presidency is facing growing rejection, even within Zanu PF.

The ruling party is now at a crossroads—will they force through an unconstitutional extension of Mnangagwa’s rule, or will the rising tide of dissent lead to internal collapse and potential leadership change?

With elections looming and factionalism deepening, one thing is certain: Mnangagwa’s rule is no longer as secure as it once seemed.

Govt Says Only Wicknell Chivayo’s Allowed To Carry Money Vendors Must Open Bank Accounts

EXPOSED: Government Forces Vendors to Open Bank Accounts While Million-Dollar Looters Remain Untouched

Double Standards in Zimbabwe’s Financial Crackdown?

Harare, Zimbabwe – In a move that has sparked widespread outrage, the Zimbabwean government has issued a directive forcing informal vendors to open bank accounts and adopt Point of Sale (POS) machines for all transactions. This mandate, supposedly aimed at boosting tax compliance and financial transparency, raises critical questions: Why are small-scale traders being aggressively targeted while politically connected individuals implicated in massive corruption scandals remain untouched?

Wicknell-Chivayo-with-wads-of-cash

The hypocrisy is glaring. While vendors—who earn a living selling fruits, vegetables, and second-hand clothes—are now required to submit to strict financial regulations, individuals like Wicknell Chivayo, known for flaunting stacks of US dollars and securing multi-million-dollar government contracts without accountability, continue to operate with impunity.

A New Burden on Vendors, A Free Pass for the Elite

Announced by Information Minister Dr. Jenfan Muswere, the new policy dictates that all informal traders must open bank accounts upon registration and adopt electronic transactions as part of the formal economy. The government argues that this will improve tax collection, but critics see it as another way to target the struggling poor while the politically connected rich remain untouchable.

Currently, local authorities are responsible for licensing vendors, but under the new system, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) will play a central role in ensuring compliance with tax laws. A Domestic Inter-agency Team is also being established to crack down on non-compliant vendors, raising fears of harassment and arbitrary arrests.

Yet, while vendors are being policed, no such enforcement exists for high-profile figures accused of looting millions from state coffers.

Selective Law Enforcement: Why No Scrutiny for Chivayo and Other Elites?

Zimbabweans are still reeling from revelations of high-profile corruption cases, where individuals like Wicknell Chivayo have been linked to controversial multi-million-dollar deals. Chivayo, a known ZANU-PF associate, has publicly flaunted massive wads of cash in a country where ordinary citizens are required to justify deposits as low as US$1,000.

Key Questions the Government Must Answer:
1. Why are vendors being forced into formal banking systems while individuals caught on camera counting millions in cash face no financial scrutiny?
2. Why are looters of public funds not being investigated under the same financial transparency rules?
3. How does forcing vendors to open bank accounts address the real economic crisis caused by corruption and mismanagement?

The silence from authorities is deafening. Despite past scandals and public outrage, Chivayo and other politically connected elites continue to operate without any requirement to disclose the sources of their massive wealth. Meanwhile, street vendors struggling to make ends meet are being hounded by financial regulations that seem designed to oppress rather than empower.

A War on the Poor?

This latest move fits into a broader pattern of the Zimbabwean government targeting the most vulnerable members of society while shielding those in power. Instead of addressing real economic issues such as inflation, corruption, and unemployment, authorities have opted to police the informal sector, which provides livelihoods for millions.

Experts warn that forcing vendors into the banking system without addressing the root causes of economic decay—corruption, policy inconsistency, and lack of investor confidence—will only push more people into extreme poverty.

What Happens Next?

With vendors now required to comply with electronic payment systems and formal banking, enforcement measures will likely lead to increased harassment from police and municipal authorities, who have a long history of cracking down on informal traders.

The real question is: Will the same energy be applied to investigating and prosecuting those responsible for looting the country’s wealth? If history is any indicator, the answer is a resounding no.

For now, Zimbabwean vendors must brace for yet another government policy that punishes the poor while protecting the powerful. The fight for justice continues.

Do you think the government’s policy is fair? Should high-profile individuals like Wicknell Chivayo also be forced to open bank accounts and declare their financial dealings? Share your thoughts!

City’s Champions League Hopes In Jeopardy

Sports Correspondent

Manchester City’s Champions League ambitions are hanging in the balance after a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of their play-off tie.

Despite Erling Haaland’s double, including a late penalty, City’s collapse in the final moments allowed Madrid to snatch victory.

Kylian Mbappe had equalized for Madrid on the hour, before Haaland restored City’s lead from the spot. However, Brahim Diaz scored against his former club with a rebound effort, and Jude Bellingham sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike.

Madrid’s victory was largely due to City’s self-inflicted errors, as they surrendered possession and failed to see out the game. Ederson’s inability to parry the ball away from goal and Rico Lewis’s failure to hold off Vinicius Junior proved costly.

The defeat leaves City facing an uphill task to progress, with the second leg still to come.

While there is still hope, City’s susceptibility to conceding goals in quick succession will be a major concern for manager Pep Guardiola.

Taurai Kandishaya, a prominent official in Zanu PF’s youth league, has claimed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa could continue in office beyond 2030.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Kandishaya expressed confidence in Mnangagwa’s leadership, emphasizing his strong bond with his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

He remarked, “Our President, Cde ED Mnangagwa, has a sound relationship with his lieutenants, specifically Vice President Chiwenga, who is described as his young brother.”

Kandishaya also warned that any efforts to undermine President Mnangagwa would face resistance from Vice President Chiwenga. “Attempts to undermine President ED will meet resistance from VP Chiwenga,” he stated, adding, “If you continue criticizing President ED, our dear VP will defend his brother by ensuring his term is extended.”
