JUST IN- Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri Denied Bail

By A Correspondent- MDC Alliance members Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri accused of breaching Covid-19 regulations after holding a press conference at the Harare Magistrates’ Court have been denied bail.

They had appealed to the High Court for bail pending trial.

However, Justice Chitapi threw out the appeal.

Officer In Charge In Soup For Arms Smuggling

Officer-in-charge Mashonaland West Police provincial armory, inspector Clive Kadambure has been arrested in connection with a case in which two men were arrested at Sango Border Post trying to smuggle firearms.

The duo were arrested by police details at Gonarezhou. It is alleged that they were trying 2 smuggle firearms to Mozambique on 15 March 2021.

Kadambure, who was arrested last Tuesday, is in custody after being denied bail. He is jointly charged with his wife, Shyness Kadambure, a teacher at Alaska Primary School in Chinhoyi.

According to State papers, Shyness buried Kadambure’s CZ service pistol and 58 x .375 Honardy Ruger ammunition rounds at the couple’s Hunyani Infil house garden.

“Accused persons’ possession of ammunition on its own should be treated as serious considering the circumstances leading to the recovery of the ammunition,” read the State papers.

“Accused one is being linked to the recovered six automatic rifles at Sango Border Post in Mwenezi, Masvingo, where an investigation is in progress under ZRP Mwenezi CR 57 l/03/21 and CID Mwenezi DR 18/03/21.”

Being in possession of firearm it’s a high criminal offence considering the circumstances leading the recovery.

Juventus Unwilling To Release Ronaldo

Juventus have cleared the air on the futures of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Andrea Pirlo amid exit reports.

Ronaldo was in the past two weeks linked with a return to Real Madrid at the end of this season after facing a backlash for his performance in the Champions League.

Speculation on the future of the Portuguese superstar was further thrown into uncertainty after Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that rumours linking the player with a return to the Spanish capital might be true.

Pirlo was also rumoured to be on his way out after the team’s elimination from the inter-club competition and falling way behind in the Serie A title race.

But speaking on DAZN, as cited by Goal.com, Juve vice-president Pavel Nedved said the pair will be at the club next season.

“Pirlo is and will be the Juventus coach, 100%. We started a project with Andrea, knowing the difficulties ahead.

“We wanted to do something more but we didn’t succeed, the difficulties were foreseen…

“Ronaldo can’t be touched, he has a contract until June 30, 2022 and he will stay. Then we’ll see what happens next .”

Nedved’s claims come days after Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici echoed the same sentiments.

Paratici told Sky Sport Italia that both Pirlo and Ronaldo were key parts of Juventus’ future.

“We have a project that we started from last season, one game will not change our views or our strategy,” the Sporting director said.

“This line continues and we are very happy with what we’ve done, so we’ll continue working to improve.”- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Digestive Problems: The Facts

Here’s What May Be Causing Your Digestive Gas Pain
Worried about intestinal gas? It’s a normal part of digestion, but sometimes digestive problems like gas can signal more worrisome conditions.

Painful gas can signal an underlying health condition.

Like it or not, everyone passes gas. “On average, an adult produces two pints of gas every day,” says Sari Acra, MD, MPH, a professor and director of the division of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. According to the National Institutes of Health, farting 13 to 21 times per day is normal.

Typically, gas in the digestive tract occurs as a result of swallowing air (aerophagia) and when bacteria in your large intestine break down certain foods.

A person can swallow large amounts of air by:

Chewing gum
Smoking
Drinking carbonated beverages
Eating or drinking too quickly
Wearing loose-fitting dentures
Sucking on hard candy
If the air isn’t burped back up, it will move down into your gastrointestinal tract and get released through the anus.

Food can also cause gas, although the type of food can vary from person to person. Known gas culprits include:

Certain vegetables, such as asparagus, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and broccoli
Beans and lentils
Milk products, like cheese, ice cream, and yogurt
Drinks like apple juice, pear juice, and carbonated beverages with high-fructose corn syrup

Regular gas is a sign that you’re consuming adequate amounts of fiber and that you have healthy gut microbes.

But gas accompanied by other red flags — such as weight loss, anorexia, excessive diarrhea, vomiting, fever, prolonged bloating, and severe stomach pain — can be a sign of a digestive disorder or other gastrointestinal condition that needs attention. Problems include:

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Lactose intolerance
Pancreatitis
Ulcers
Celiac disease
Gallstones
Diverticulitis
Trouble Passing Gas
The flipside of excessive gas is the inability to pass gas, which can also be a symptom of an underlying problem, like an abdominal obstruction. An intestinal blockage is a serious condition and occurs as a result of a partial or total blockage of the small or large intestine.

According to the Mount Sinai Medical Center, a tumor, scar tissue (adhesions), or narrowing of the intestines are all likely causes of abdominal obstruction.

If you’re experiencing gas pain and you either can’t pass gas or have excessive flatulence, speak to your healthcare provider. They may be able to offer at-home solutions to your digestive woes. Or your doctor may schedule tests to determine if your gas pain is caused by another, more serious problem.

If your gas comes with severe stomach pain, persistent bouts of diarrhea or constipation and bloating that occurs at least three days a month, you might have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). If you have IBS, then the nerves in your gastrointestinal tract will be more sensitive to the gas produced there. Dr. Acra says that the increased awareness of gas could make people feel like they’re passing gas more than usual.

IBS is a chronic, uncomfortable condition, but it won’t cause any damage to your GI tract. Symptoms can be managed with medication and diet.

Gas Pain Could Be Caused by Lactose Intolerance or a Food Allergy

  1. Gas Pain Could Be Caused by Lactose Intolerance or a Food Allergy

If you notice that your gas seems worse after eating certain foods, such as dairy products (which contain lactose), the problem may be a particular food, or lactose intolerance. The body’s inability to tolerate a food or substance can trigger stomach or gas pain as your body struggles to digest it. When bacteria in your colon can’t properly digest these foods, they break down and are fermented into gas.

“Some people can’t digest the sugar contained in milk [lactose] because their intestines lack the enzyme necessary to break it down, or they can’t absorb fructose, the sugar that is found in many foods, including corn syrup,” says Acra.

Gas Is a Very Common Symptom of Pancreatitis

Gas is normal. But flatulence that’s accompanied by swelling in the abdomen, fever, nausea, and vomiting is not. These symptoms can be warning signs of pancreatitis — inflammation of the pancreas, which assists in the digestive process. Gas is a very common symptom of pancreatitis. A Chinese case study published in April 2019 in the journal Medicine noted that intestinal gas frequently caused pain and bloating in patients with pancreatitis.

Zimbabweans Not Yet Liberated- MDC Alliance

ZIMBABWEANS ARE NOT YET LIBERATED! MDC ALLIANCE NAMIBIA RESPONDS TO ZANUPF POLITICAL COMMISSAR.

24 MARCH 2021

Zanupf political commissar old man Victor Matemadanda has sensationally pronounced they (war veterans) did not liberate this country to donate or surrender it to Chamisa. It must be clear to the overambitious former taxi driver that President Advocate Nelson Chamisa Wamba Dia Wamba is the rightful alternative with the full potential to put the economy on a sounder footing. Matemadanda must also be reminded that Zimbabwe is not Zanupf’s private property, we are all Zimbabweans therefore trying to personalise our beloved country by these morons should be resisted with equal measure. He will finally realise that his dream of a dead Mdc Alliance is just a fallacy once they allow by-elections on the illegally recalled legislators and councillors.

Mdc Alliance Namibia would like to send its message to Victor Matemadanda about liberation. By definition: Liberation is defined as being set free , or obtaining equal rights ; it is a process of striving to achieve equal rights and status of citizens; it can also be the action of setting someone free from imprisonment, slavery, or oppression, release. Under Zanupf governance nothing mentioned above is attainable, what we see is a serious clamp down on the voices of dissent when citizens demonstrate against profound social, political and economic inequalities. It is from this pathetic background that we wake up to hear that Matemadanda is saying” Chamisa’s party is melting like a candle and they are not yet done”. As a district , we urge Zanupf to concentrate on the economy that has struggled for decades now due senseless looting and barefaced corruption practised through cartels.

Furthermore, we reiterate that with this prolonged cruel , inhuman and unjust treatment of opposition activists demonstrate that Zimbabweans are not yet liberated! Right now we have Hon Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri in Chikurubi maximum prison residing with a satanic snake and many other political prisoners. This is more than colonial persecution and torture of citizens just for holding a press conference demanding justice to Cde Makomborero Haruzivishe who is incarcerated for expressing his political opinions. This Matemadanda can simply be described as an uneducated clan-tribal village thug perennially in support of a monocratic, thugocratic regime with a clear record of unprecedented human butchery, gross human rights abuses, abductions, disappearances , tribalism , racism led by a clueless and unapologetic clan-tribal minded Karanga -Chinhu chedu massacre of Matebeleland and Midlands , who called his own peoples cockroaches and barking dogs.

Moreover, the presence of the social act of placing severe restrictions on individuals, individual groups or institutions does not reflect any liberation in Zimbabwe. Zanupf must note that citizens are quite aware that Victor Matemadanda and his boss Mr Mnangagwa are using the liberation struggle to loot and squander the fortunes of the Zimbabwean people. The shocking selective application of the law in the country is a clear testimony pointing to the perpetual tyranny where dissenting voices are muted through prosecution. One-Man-One-Vote is being reversed day and night by Zanupf autocrats and their surrogates who were busy since March 2020 with parliamentary manoeuvres that saw Mdc Alliance illegally losing 39 or more MPs and 81 of councillors. This is a clear reversal of the supposed gains of the so-called liberation struggle which was anticipated to deliver constitutional democracy.

Moreso, Mdc Alliance Namibia orders Matemadanda to desist from commenting on the liberation war because he is a war deserter and coward. He hibernated in Zambia where he was a taxi driver when the liberation struggle and its iconic luminaries diligently fought for independence , said Rundu Branch Spokesperson. The corrupt practices in Zanupf government are the actions that are subverting the dreams and aspirations of the genuine liberators and further undermine democracy and deny millions of Zimbabwean citizens their national cake.

In a nutshell, Zanupf must concentrate on trying to fulfill its 2018 manifesto before thinking about the next elections. President Advocate Nelson Chamisa will bounce back with #CitizensCovergenceForChange where a broader Alliance of progressive citizens will be put in place to demand for comprehensive political and electoral reforms to promote credible, free and fair elections in 2023. Matemadanda and his desperate cronies must be ready to accept defeat because this time the citizens will defend their vote. Mdc Alliance Namibia says , “Not yet Uhuru!” We shall converge as citizens and confront Zanupf Satanists for complete change.

Nine MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Members Denied Bail

Tinashe Sambiri|Nine MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Members were denied bail by a Masvingo magistrate on Wednesday.

The nine are accused of
participating in a gathering with intent to promote public violence, breach of peace or bigotry.

In a statement yesterday, MDC Masvingo Province denounced the incessant harassment of its members by the Zanu PF regime.

“The 9 Chivi @mdczimbabwe members were denied bail today (Wednesday) at Masvingo Magistrate Court.

The courts considered 8 April as the day to commence Trial. Adv Mureri of @ZLHRLawyers says he will Appeal ruling at High Court.

The denial of bail of the #Chivi9 is unconstitutional and the continuation of a pattern of persecution by @edmnangagwa ‘s regime as he seeks to dismantle the main opposition in pursuit of Zanu PF’s one party state agenda.

The abuse & weaponization of the court system must stop,” MDC Alliance Masvingo wrote on Twitter

Govt Wants Touts Removed From Bus Termini

By A Correspondent- The minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Dr. Sithembiso Nyoni Friday said the government would want to see the removal of touts from all bus termini.

D r Nyoni added that the government was concerned over the increasing incidents of harassment by touts towards women at bus termini and other public spaces across the country.

Addressing the media this morning, the minister said:

Eventually, we want to witness the removal of touts from all bus termini. Public spaces must be safe for all and may it be known that the law enforcing agents shall not deal with this lightly.

My ministry has engaged relevant Government departments and local authorities to nip these inhumane acts of gender-based violence in the bud.

Her remarks come after a video circulated on social media platforms showing a woman being forcefully dragged by touts as she fights and cries while another tout was also seen pulling her luggage away.

Reports suggest the video was shot in Dhulivhadzimu, a suburb in Beitbridge.

Mnangagwa: Chinese Loans Sweet And Secure

Mnangagwa-with-Chinese-Ambassador-to-Zimbabwe-Guo

By Farai D Hove | Below is ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa’s response to online presenter, Chiwoneso Mpofu’s question concerning Zimbabwe’s debt trap to China.

Speaking just after the 2018 elections, Mnangagwa said Chinese loans are not dangerous. “I don’t see the danger there,” he said.

Mnangagwa, in full, said most of the money coming from China was going towards revenue-generating infrastructure projects that would pay themselves off.

He said, “During (Zimbabwe’s) period of isolation, very few countries outside the West assisted us. Some of the notable countries which came to our assistance are China, India, Brazil, Russia and Malaysia.

“And when things are good you then do not forget your friend who stood with you during bad times, but you do not sell your country because somebody stood with you during bad times.

“What is necessary when you get loans or investment, it must be structured. (There is need for) investment in projects which can re-finance themselves to pay the loan.”

Mnangagwa cited the two massive capital projects of the expansion of Kariba South and Hwange power stations, which are financed with Chinese capital.

“I do not see any danger where you have a project which becomes productive in terms of revenue streams to pay for itself,” he said.

“When you finish paying the loan, the asset remains with us and we will continue to have electricity so I do not see the danger there.”

Weighing in on the issue, Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube, who is part of the President’s delegation on the visit to New York, said China was “where the money is”.

Prof Ncube also said African countries should negotiate sustainable terms when seeking loans.

“We have a very strong debt sustainability analysis framework which allows us to understand whether we are over indebted or not, (whether) we can pay or not.

“The Chinese also do that analysis themselves and if they find out that you cannot pay they do not lend you the money, this is not free money,” he said.

Anti Riot Police Chase Away Masvingo Polytechnic College Students Who Failed To Pay New Fees

“Mugabe’s Deceit Exposes ZINARA”: CHRA Fumes

The Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) rebuff the claims by ZINARA that  it has not received correspondence from CHRA requesting release of  figures of the disbursed funds to the City of Harare and Chitungwiza Municipality .

The deceitful response by ZINARA Spokesperson Tendai Mugabe to Newsday “that they had not received a letter from CHRA” is reflective of how the institution conducts its business and further exposes the government of Zimbabwe on the nature of parastatals we have in the country.

CHRA has a stamped copy indicating that the parastatal received the letter and the silence on the part of ZINARA indicates that they are not willing to release the figures for reasons better known to the institution.

Failure by ZINARA to respond to the 8th of February 2021 CHRA and PAZ letter is a clear and blatant violation of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Public administration for state controlled entities is governed by democratic values and section 194(1) (k) states “that transparency must be fostered by providing the public with timely, accessible and accurate information” and the response by ZINARA falls far short in compliance to this provision.

We reiterate that our request for the information of the figures of disbursed funds to the City of Harare and Chitungwiza municipality by ZINARA is protected and guaranteed by Section 62 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe on the right to access information.

To this end CHRA has engaged its legal representatives to commence legal action on the failure by ZINARA to release the public information.

We are aware that any form of centralized governance system in the management of vehicle licensing fees is not responsive to local needs and open room for grand corruption as witnessed at ZINARA since its inception.

Local government is the closest government to the people hence we call upon the government of Zimbabwe to reconsider its decision by  retaining the vehicle licensing mandate to local authorities in line with Chapter 14 of the Constitution on devolution.

Latest On Bail Application For Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri

By A Correspondent- MDC Alliance youth leaders Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri are today appearing at Harare Magistrates and High courts for their routine remand hearing and bail ruling.

The duo, whose bail ruling was on Monday deferred to today are set to appear at court for their 127th time.

Said a source privy to latest developments:

“The duo will be appearing at two courts today that is the High Court at 10 am -Justice T Chitapi and Harare Regional Magistrate’s court 9 at 09.30hrs -Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti Guwuriro.

The experience is dehumanising. The double appearance in two separate courts is horrendous and traumatising for the girls.

It is their 127th appearance in court without TRIAL. In short 20 months being in and out of prison while being STALKED by Ferret / police and unconstitutionally being denied bail in a matter where the victim is being wrongfully accused of being the perpetrator.

The police are supposed to arrest those who kidnapped the girls instead of continously torturing the girls.”

According to ZRP members, Tiringindi and Tailor on 18 March 2021 spray painted several walls and perimeter walls in Masvingo’s central business district and some residential areas with messages which reads; “Free Mako, Taku, Johana and Cecelia.”

The other messages read; “Rates Must Fall” and “We Want Water.”

ZRP members also obtained search warrants authorising them to conduct searches to seize spray guns, paint, fliers or any other articles for criminal use at the residences of Tiringindi and Tailor.

Former First Lady In Soup Over Land

By A Correspondent- Former First lady Grace Mugabe reportedly grabbed 50 000 square meters of land in Borrowdale and gifted it to her relatives and children before fraudulently acquiring title deeds from the land without following due process, ZimMorning Post reports.

According to the publication, Grace and other unnamed government officials grabbed prime land in Borrodale from a land developer and then acquired title deeds without following due procedure.

Grace after grabbing the land reportedly parcelled it out to the following people:

  1. Bona Chikoore stand number 306 measuring 18034m2 and stand number 307 measuring (25133m2),
  2. Robert Jnr Mugabe stand number 308 measuring (13733m2) and stand number 309  measuring (16774m2).
  3.  Documents also revealed that Grace assisted Junior Shuvai Gumbochuma, her sister, to acquire stand number 228 (12086m2) which she has also not paid for and is registered under title deed number 6228/11.

Court papers seen by the publication suggest that the title deeds were reportedly prepared by conveyancers or lawyers who have appeared before the Registrar of Deeds reads in part:

The matter has been reported and Zacc is carrying out its own investigations. The people who bought the stands were supposed to pay the developer and then be allowed to apply for title deeds.

The procedure is that the land developer provides a certificate to residential stands owners as acknowledgement that they can now acquire title deeds. Local government then endorses the application of title deeds but in this case the bigwigs bypassed all these processes.

ZACC is said to be probing the issue and it is still not clear what will happen to the properties if ZACC concludes that their situation needs redress

Bishop Gwenyaya and his child’s mother, Ms Lince Siiwa (25)’s case had since spilled into court, with the latter demanding $25 000 monthly maintenance from the man of cloth.

However, the parties on Wednesday had an out of court settlement of $11 000 monthly maintenance.

Mrs Netsai Nyamwanza represented Ms Siiwa while Mr Stephen Chikamhi represented Bishop Gwenyaya.

Mutare magistrate, Mr Lazarus Musendo, endorsed the $11 000 maintenance when the parties later appeared before him.

In an unsolicited interview with The Manica Post, Ms Siiwa, said upon realising that he had impregnated her, Bishop Gwenyaya engaged and paid some people to facilitate the termination of her pregnancy on four different occasions.

Ms Siiwa said she almost died during one of the abortion attempts.

Upon realising that his mission to abort the pregnancy had failed, Bishop Gwenyaya is alleged to have ordered Ms Siiwa to lie to her family that she had been raped by unknown assailants.

Ms Siiwa followed the Bishop’s script and lied to her mother and sisters.

A police report was made but no one was arrested as there were no suspects.

Narrating how she became intimate with Bishop Gwenyaya, Ms Siiwa said the man of cloth sexually abused her.

“He came to collect me from our place on the pretext that we would visit other congregants. He drove me to Vumba, where he forcibly kissed and hugged me. He forced himself on me and a few weeks later I realised that I was pregnant.

“He engaged his colleague to abort the pregnancy but it failed. After a week, he sent the guy again and I almost died. It happened on four different occasions.

‘‘On the last attempt, the hired guy brought another person whom he said was an expert, but nothing worked. I had to tell my two elder sisters about my ordeal,” said Ms Siiwa.

She said when she delivered her baby, her elder sisters forced Bishop Gwenyaya to meet the hospital bills.

However, Bishop Gwenyaya allegedly stopped communicating with Ms Siiwa and her family.

“He also blocked my mother’s contacts when she told him that they were taking the issue to the police. This was after she had heard that Bishop Gwenyaya had also tried to molest my younger sister,” said Ms Siiwa.

One of Ms Siiwa’s sisters – Mrs Lynn Magume – is married to Pastor Jeremiah Magume, who was also a member of Bishop Gwenyaya’s church.

Mrs Magume said they left the church after realising that their leader had impregnated her sister.

“My husband resigned from Rock Foundation Tabernacle after realising that Bishop Gwenyaya was a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” said Mrs Magume.

Ms Siiwa’s mother, Mrs Constance Siiwa, said she trusted Bishop Gwenyaya with her daughters.

“He is good at preaching the gospel and you would not suspect his heartlessness. I could hardly believe my ears when Lince told me that Gwenyaya was the father of her child. Reality later dawned on me because when I joined Bishop Gwenyaya’s church someone once warned me that he is a womaniser,” said Mrs Siiwa.

When The Manica Post contacted Bishop Gwenyaya for a comment, he referred all questions to his lawyer, Mr Chikamhi.

Mr Chikamhi accused Pastor Magume of trying to blackmail Bishop Gwenyanya through Ms Siiwa.

“When all this happened, Magume approached my client and tried to blackmail him. He told him to relinquish his position as a Bishop and quietly hand over the church reigns to him or risk being humiliated. When my client refused, Magume started a new church, Voice of Prayer, in Fern Valley.

“About the baby, my client was never told that Lince had his child. They never approached him to contribute towards the upkeep of the child. They rushed to court and the media. He got to know of this baby’s existence through court summons,” said Mr Chikamhi.

HRDs Alert
24 March 2021

ZIMBABWE Republic Police (ZRP) members on Wednesday 24 March 2021 arrested two pro-democracy campaigners and charged them with causing malicious damage to property and criminal nuisance after they allegedly spray-painted walls on some buildings in Masvingo with messages protesting against poor service delivery and the continued
detention of some activists.

ZRP members arrested Prosper Tiringindi and Leeroy Tailor, who are represented by Martin Mureri of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and charged them with causing malicious damage to property and criminal nuisance as defined in section 140 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act and as defined in section 46 as read with paragraph 2 (v) of the Third Schedule of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act respectively.

“Soldiers’ Wages Quadruple As Teachers’ Remain Stagnant” – “Military Assisted Transition”

Zim Soldiers – file copy

By Nomusa Garikai | I shudder to think what would have become of me if I had missed one month of schooling in any one year! I was not one of the bright pupils, as all my teachers would acknowledge. I needed the teachers’ guidance every step of the way!

There is no doubt that the corona virus lockdowns have caused serious disruption to the children’s education the world over. 2020 was a wasted year and everything possible must be done to make sure students catch-up. It is folly to assume whatever student were supposed to have learned in all of last year, they learned it!

Losing a whole year of schooling and be push to the next level frightens the day out of me! Between you, the reader, and the brick wall, I repeated my third year at school and that helped.

If it was for me to decide, I would strongly recommend every student should repeat because, like it or not, education is like building a house, the house is only as sold as the foundation on which it stands. I would rather have a single storey building with a solid foundation than a five-storey building with a dodgy foundation; the former will never stand the test of time and the latter will not.

As if the disruption caused by corona virus was not bad enough, the Zimbabwe student is facing the reality of yet another academic year being written off!

“We urge the government to expeditiously resolve the challenges faced by teachers or else 2021 would be a wasted year,” Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) President Takavafira Zhou warned in an interview with NewZimbabwe.com.

Zhou claimed the salaries of government employees in state security departments including the army, police, prison and the Central Intelligence Office (CIO) quadrupled this month while teachers’ wages remained stagnate.

Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs who have been rigging elections these last 40 years to stay in power. Four decades of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption have left the country’s economy in ruins.

And as long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state there will be no meaningful economic recovery. There will be no money to pay teachers a living wage; Takavafira Zhou and his fellow teachers should know this by now.

President Mnangagwa and his government are paying security service personal four times the wage of the teacher or nurse because Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruling by fear and needs to placate the repressive agents. As the economic meltdown gets worse and worse, it is getting worse and worse, the regime will have to quadrupled the soldiers’ wages again and again. And still this will not be enough because, without the economic recovery, these wage increases are only fuelling inflation!

The country has already witness one military coup, “military assisted transition”, as the November 2017 coup plotters called it. The country has remained a pariah state or be it under new management and so, the economic meltdown has continued.
If 2021 is another wasted school year, then this generation of students will never ever catch-up. Never!

Can you imagine what kind of a nation Zimbabwe will be with 60% or so of all those who were 5 to 20 years old in 2020 whose education attainment is so low they can be considered mentally blind, deaf and dumb! This will not only affect the individuals concerned but their children and their grandchildren for many generations. What a nightmare!

The economic, social and political situation is getting worse and worse, this is unsustainable. A country whose education and health care have all but totally collapsed has no future! Paying the soldiers whilst the country goes to the dogs is foolish; the regime is stoking another military assisted transition, hardly three years since the last, and it is already long overdue! – SOURCE: zsdemocrats.blogspot.com

“Expulsion Of Biti Above Board”: Prof Madhuku

By A Correspondent- There is no legal ambiguity whatsoever on the expulsion status of six MDC Alliance legislators, including party vice president Tendai Biti, following their recall last week, constitutional lawyer Professor Lovemore has said.

Biti and colleagues Settlement Chikwinya, William Madzimire, Sichelesile Mahlangu, Regai Tsunga, and Kucaca Phulu, were removed from Parliament by an obscure splinter of their former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) saying they had ceased to represent its interests.

Their recall raised legal questions after House Speaker Jacob Mudenda simply read out a letter from the PDP seeking the lawmakers’ expulsion without announcing outright that their seats had fallen vacant.

Legal watchdog Veritas opined on Monday that the recalls remained an open question due to “confused and hotly disputed” facts, “hence it is too early to say that the members have lost their seats.”

But Madhuku said the law was clear and that Biti and his colleagues were no longer lawmakers.

“According to our constitutional law as now spelled out authoritatively by the Constitutional Court, the vacancy of a Member of Parliament who is being recalled arises at the moment the Speaker or the President of the Senate receives the letter that is contemplated in Section 129 (1) (k),” Madhuku argued.

“So the vacancy arises at the moment of receipt of the letter. The vacancy does not arise at the moment the Speaker makes the announcement in the National Assembly or the President of the Senate making an announcement in the Senate.”

He added that Mudenda did not have to pronounce the removals verbatim.

“It is not relevant what the speaker says in parliament or how he words his announcement is not relevant.

“What is only relevant is the notification by him to say that I did receive, is just but public information to say that the vacancy did arise earlier on,” the law professor said.

“So legally if you want to check at what point the vacancy rose you would have to check at what point the letter was officially received by the Speaker or the President of the Senate.”

The MDC Alliance has since last year lost about 40 MPs and 81 councilors through recalls, mainly by the rival MDC-T led by Douglas Mwonzora, seen by critics as a Zanu-PF puppet.-ZimLive

“We Have Changed The Way Of Doing Things”: Mwonzora

By A Correspondent- Opposition MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora, in an apparent show of allegiance to the ruling Zanu-PF party, yesterday pledged to co-operate with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration to solve the problems afflicting the country, adding that it was no longer time for opposing for the sake of opposition.

Mwonzora said this when he was giving a vote of thanks during the launch of the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Victoria Falls.

The event, led by Mnangagwa, was also attended by members of the Political Actors Dialogue (Polad), a loose coalition of party leaders who contested the 2018 presidential election.

“We have changed the way to do things. We now want politics of tolerance and to work together putting the people of Zimbabwe first,” he said.

“We don’t want politics of hunger, hate and intolerance. As leaders of the opposition we should work for the betterment of the economy to save our people and also support the vaccination programme.”

Mwonzora added that it was out of order for opposition political leaders to encourage the public not to participate in the vaccination programme since the vaccines were safe.

Earlier on, Mnangagwa had called for entrenchment of patriotism and unity of purpose.

Mwonzora’s move has been viewed as affirmation of allegations that the MDC-T, which has recalled about 40 legislators and 80 councillors affiliated to the MDC Alliance, has all along been working with the ruling party to decimate the main opposition party led by Nelson Chamisa.

Just last week, Mwonzora ordered his party MPs to stop heckling or walking out on Mnangagwa.

MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said the Chamisa-led party would continue to hold the ruling Zanu-PF party to account, champion the cause of the people and be the voice of the suffering masses.

“We will take all necessary steps to stop the attempt by Zanu-PF and its surrogates who usurped the will of the people to create a one-party State. The regime must respect the democratic and constitutional rights of the citizens to challenge its policies and offer alternatives for the betterment of the nation,” Mahere said.

Mahere dismissed Mwonzora’s claims that the MDC Alliance was against the COVID-19 inoculation programme.

“Fighting the pandemic is a collective effort that offers no room for politicking. We support the roll out of a widespread vaccination drive in the fight against COVID-19.”
She said there was need for transparency in the procurement of vaccines, adding that the inoculation programme should prioritise frontline workers and the vulnerable.

Meanwhile, a statement by the MDCT revealed that Mwonzora was actually invited to the Victoria Falls event by Justice permanent secretary Virginia Mabhiza, who is also Polad secretary.

In a letter addressed to Mwonzora in his capacity as MDC-T president and dated March 23, 2021, Mabhiza revealed that government had already arranged transport and other logistics for him.

Mwonzora was also said to have been invited in his capacity as the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, a position he took over from Thokozani Khupe (proportional representation MP)

His spokesperson Penias Damba told NewsDay yesterday at the party headquarters that: “When President ED (Mnangagwa) invited all leaders of political parties to participate in the vaccination programme through Twitter, we said we can’t go there over a tweet message. We said we want an invitation. Mwonzora went on to be invited officially to attend the national event. We don’t want to be politicising COVID-19.

“It’s a national event where people unite to fight the pandemic. We have nothing to do with Polad. This is not a Polad event.”

Mwonzora rose to the helm of MDCT party in December last year after polling 883 votes out of the total 1 027 votes case to dislodge Khupe, although the latter has disputed the election results

Trio Robbed At Cemetery

By A Correspondent- Three Bulawayo residents were on Saturday robbed at knife point by two men and two women at West Park Cemetery.

The robbers, who are still at large, went away with US$90, cellphones and a laptop.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said they were still investigating the matter.

He said the victims were from Mahatshula and Nketa 9 suburbs.

“On March 20 at 4:20pm, the complainants visited the West Park Cemetery to check on the state of their three relatives’ graves. They parked their cars opposite Green Spar Beer Hall near West Park Cemetery and walked to the gravesite,” police said.

“While still searching for the grave numbers of their relatives, two men appeared from the west side and ordered them to lie down on their stomachs. They tried to resist, but one of the accused persons produced a silver kitchen knife and they complied. The accused person, who was also holding a knife, demanded to be given all their valuables.”

Ncube said the three surrendered their belongings which comprised a purse containing US$90 and cellphones.

“One of the suspects force-marched one of the complainants to their vehicle, leaving the other guarding the other two. On their way to the car, the accused was joined by two female accomplices who suddenly emerged from the bush. They went to where the vehicle was parked and searched the car and took a laptop.

“The three accused persons and the complainants returned to the cemetery where they had left their counterpart with the other two complainants. The accused ordered the complainants to remain on the ground as they fled into the bush.”

The victims filed a report at Mzilikazi Police Station.

VP Chiwenga Says He Misses His Late Military Allies

By A Correspondent- Vice President and Health and Child Care Minister Constantino Chiwenga on Tuesday said he missed his military allies who succumbed to COVID-19.

Speaking during an interview with broadcaster Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa at his offices in Harare, Chiwenga recounted how he received the news of the death of his “great friends”, who include cabinet ministers.

Perrance Shiri (Lands and Agriculture), Sibusiso Moyo (Foreign Affairs) and former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services boss Paradzai Zimondi, all succumbed to COVID-19.

Chiwenga said:

They give me courage. The fortunate or unfortunate part is that I had spoken to all of them prior to their deaths. With (Retired) Air Marshal Shiri, we had talked for almost an hour and we ended up talking about our days at school, late into the night. In the early hours of the morning, I received the shattering news that he was no more. He was the last person I had spoken to that day.

It gives us the courage that everybody has his or her own time. But I had not expected to lose such great friends to this pandemic. We grieve, but we understand that this has happened, and ask strength from God to accept reality. This is the reality and I can’t change it.

Chiwenga also warned that the government could soon be forced to make the COVID-19 vaccination certificate a prerequisite for public services if citizens continue resisting the jab.

He said:

Remember the COVID-19 certificates, eventually, they are going to become our passports.

Mwonzora Says He Is Going To Work With Zanu PF And Mnangagwa

Mnangagwa Plots Another Attack On The Few Remaining Opposition Legislators

The 118 sitting and former MDC Members of Parliament and senators who sang, remained seated or walked out when President Mnangagwa came to Parliament on five formal occasions should be found in contempt of Parliament, be fined $400 000 each and lose their diplomatic passports, Parliament’s Privileges Committee has recommended.

The committee, chaired by lawyer and Mudzi South National Assembly member Jonathan Samkange (Zanu-PF) tabled its report in Senate yesterday with the recommendations, and this must now be debated by the two Houses for final decision.

Two MPs, Zengeza West MP Mr Job Sikhala and former Mbizo MP Mr Settlement Chikwinya, should pay additional second fines of $800 000 for disrespecting the committee when it was carrying out its work as well as disrespecting the President. If approved that would bring their fines to $1,2 million.

Parliament has the right to investigate charges of contempt of Parliament and can withdraw privileges, impose fines and, in the case of its own members, suspend these members.  So long as it remains within its constitutional powers and follows its own procedures, the decisions made in contempt proceedings are final and cannot be appealed to the courts.

The present Constitution has withdrawn the previous power Parliament had to imprison those found in contempt.

The committee did not recommend the full range of sanctions that can be applied, recommending just the withdrawal of one privilege, the diplomatic passports, and the fines but allowing those who still have seats to continue attending Parliament.

For many of the 87 Members of the National Assembly and 24 Senators the committee said were in contempt of Parliament, some are no longer legislators, having been recalled by the MDC-T, now led by Senator Douglas Mwonzora, or by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The committee was asked to investigate the opposition MPs’ behaviour by Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda in terms of Parliamentary rules after Zanu-PF Chief Whip Pupirai Togarepi moved a motion to have them charged.

MDC-Alliance legislators sang, boycotted the sitting, remained seated or walked out of the chamber on five occasions when President Mnangagwa delivered his State of the Nation addresses, or was present on other formal occasions.  It was the committee’s observation that during the hearing, the majority of MDC-Alliance members were defiant and unapologetic for their misconduct.

“Hon (Jane) Watson was particularly hostile and disrespectful in her responses to the committee suggesting that the chairperson was fooling himself or trying to fool her, which was not palatable to the committee.

“In summary, the committee found the MDC-Alliance members guilty of contemptuous behaviour. They also exhibited gross disrespect by boycotting, walking out and singing political songs, on the five occasions mentioned earlier in this report,” reads the report presented by Samkange.

“It is, therefore, the Committee’s view that these allegations are of a very serious nature which are designed not only to demean and humiliate the President himself, but to scandalise him.

“This conduct was also intended to send a message to the local, regional and international community that the President was not democratically elected.

“Taking into account the severity of the matter, the committee recommended that Parliament withdraws diplomatic passports from the Honourable Members listed in Annexures A and B from the date of adoption of this report; and that those members pay a Level 12 fine ($400 000) to the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

“Turning to Honourables Chikwinya and Sikhala, it must be stated that contempt of Parliament is committed during parliamentary proceedings.

“There is no need for further investigations as a record of what transpired already exists. It is the view of the committee that both Hon Chikwinya and Hon Sikhala committed contempt of Parliament when they appeared before the committee.

“For this reason, the committee recommends that they pay a Level 14 fine ($800 000) to the Consolidated Revenue Fund in addition to the fine given in paragraph 2 above,” reads the report.

COVID-19 Vaccination To Become A Prerequisite For Public Service, Says Chiwenga

Vice-President and Health minister Constantino Chiwenga warned yesterday that government could soon be forced to make the COVID-19 vaccination certificate a prerequisite for public services if citizens continue shunning the inoculation exercise.

Speaking during an interview with broadcaster Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa at his offices in Harare, Chiwenga said the move would be made to encourage inoculation and achieve the targeted 60% herd immunity.

“Remember the COVID-19 certificates, eventually they are going to become our passports,” he said. If you watch the news globally, you will see that there are deliberations in all capitals on vaccination passports.”

Last month in Nyamandlovu, President Emmerson Mnangagwa insinuated that there would come a time when vaccination would become mandatory.

“You won’t be forced to be vaccinated. But there will come a time where if you are not vaccinated, you will not be able to get a job, if you are not vaccinated you will not able to board a Zupco bus. Eventually, you will have to decide for yourself,” he said then.

Yesterday, Chiwenga also said he missed his military allies who succumbed to COVID-19.

He recounted how he received the news of the death of his “great friends”, who include the late Cabinet ministers Perrance Shiri (Lands and Agriculture), Sibusiso Moyo (Foreign Affairs) and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services boss Paradzai Zimondi, who all succumbed to COVID-19.

Mohadi is Not the Last, You Are Next

Kembo Mohadi

By Eng Jacob Mutisi | In the early days of the internet, it was common for tech-savvy kids to scare their friends by controlling their Personal Computers remotely. They would eject the CD tray, swap the mouse buttons, or change the desktop colours . To the unwitting user, it looked like a ghost was taking over the machine.

This was the birth of Remote Access Trojans (RATs), malicious software that allows an attacker to gain unauthorised access to a victim’s computer over the internet. RATs are typically installed without the user’s consent and remain hidden to avoid detection.

To attack, the malware is often sent to you as an email attachment on or WhatsApp (as text, video or a song), Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Viber masquerading as something else. (see the email below)

On email most hackers use an Adobe Reader 9 (PDF) which over 60% of computer users still use and they use it to exploit and open a root-kit on the owner’s computer.  The hacker then alters the PDF file remotely using a program and activate malicious files and they now have total control of the device remotely.

Once a user opens this PDF file, the hacker can then:

•           Access both the front and the back camera.

•           Capture past or live audios and videos.

•           Record you at any time the app is in the foreground.

•           Install whatever software/app they like on the device.

•           Can grab your username and passwords.

•           Steal documents from the device.

•           Livestream the camera on to the internet.

•           Take pictures and stream videos from the device camera.

•           Upload incriminating images/documents to your device and notify the police.

One should get worried because the cumulative effect is a gross breach of privacy, without the device owner’s knowledge. Just think of where your computer or smartphone camera is positioned, and what someone might see if they watched you constantly, your bedroom antics, perhaps, or your daily nude stroll around the house. There has been a lot of questions on how the former Vice President Cde Kembo Mohadi got his phone hacked and how the recordings were acquired. That can happen to anyone in these times of technology use. In Zimbabwe technology is our way of life. Like everything it has its positives and negatives, hackers have devised a way to blackmail ordinary citizens by switching on the camera on a smartphone or a computer and taking control of the machine without owner’s knowledge. This is done using a Remote Administration Tools (RATs) also called Remote Administration Trojan (RATs) or  remote access Trojans (RATs) an aggressive form of malware that allows a hacker to access a victim’s entire computer. RATs were first created to prank friends. Today, they are cheaply available and used by everyone from cyber criminals to espionage groups to take control of computers and systems remotely.

Inthe early days of the internet, it was common for tech-savvy kids to scare their friends by controlling their Personal Computers remotely.

They might even see you take your device to the toilet with you.

To protect yourself against these hackers please always make sure you cover your device camera with tape or a sticker. Always plug out your microphone when you are not using it. The truth is you never know who is watching you or what is happening in the background on your device. Protect yourself from blackmail, hackers do these things for fun. Covid-19 Positive Prince Edward Boys Quarantined

By A Correspondent- Seven Advanced Level pupils at Prince Edward High School in Harare have tested positive for COVID-19 and have since been quarantined.

In a letter to parents dated 24 March 2021, Prince Edward High School headmaster Dr Aggrippa Sora said the school sent all its 265 borders for COVID-19 testing at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Dr Sora said they were taking advantage of the free PCR testing being availed by the Higher Life Foundation and the testing was done as a precautionary measure.

He wrote:

Unfortunately, the first batch of results has indicated that (7) seven 6 Upper borders tested positive for COVID-19. The rest of the results are still to come in but all 265 boarders were tested with the last test done on Wednesday 24 March 2021.

He added that the affected pupils have been quarantined while awaiting instruction from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

Said Dr Sora:

All the relevant authorities have been informed. It is now up to parents to continue bringing their boys to school while waiting for further instructions.

Our boys will fight this and we are hopeful they will be back into the fold after the mandatory eight days. We will continue testing all our students.

“Zimbabwe Elections Are A Waste Of Time And Money” – Many Agree But For Totally Different Reasons

By Wilbert Mukori- Dear Tendai Ruben Mbofana

Thank you for the excellent article, ‘ZANU PF won’t reform itself out of power’, so why are Zimbabweans not using their own powers to push for genuine reforms?’ in Bulawayo 24. A good read!

“The recent thought-provoking comments by expelled ZANU PF member of parliament, Killer Zivhu, to the effect that elections in Zimbabwe were a sheer waste of time and the nation’s resources, as the outcomes will always be contested and disputed – rather, arguing for inclusive dialogue between all major political players, and the setting up of a unity government – have, understandably, set tongues wagging, and attracted vibrant debate amongst the population,” you wrote.

I would like to take the above snippet and interrogate it.

Who says Zimbabwe elections “are a waste of time and nation’s resources” and, more significantly, why? These are key questions that are often ignored and yet, in answering them, are the explanation of why we are in this mess and how we can get out.

Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies would ideally want Zimbabwe to be a de jure one-party state as contrast to the present de facto one-party state. He tried to have the constitution changed in the late 1980s and dispense with the necessity of holding regular elections; he failed.

He did the next best thing, created a de facto one-party state in which Zanu PF rod roughshod of the people denying them their freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life. Ever since the 1980 elections Zanu PF has rigged elections as the only sure way the party would keep its iron grip on power.

Zanu PF would only consider the elections a waste of time and resources in so far as the nation should have accepted a de jure one-party state. As for disputing the elections because the process was not free, fair and credible; Zanu PF leaders will swear on all the holy books you want that the elections are free, fair and credible!

As for the MDC and the rest of the opposition politicians they should be dismissed as fork-tongued hypocrites! MDC leaders cannot complain that elections are rigged when they are the ones who failed to implement the democratic reforms to end the culture of rigged elections. They had 5 years during the 2008 to 2013 GNU to implement the reforms and failed to implement even one token reform.

Worse still, everyone in the opposition camp knew that with no reforms in place Zanu PF would rig the July 2018 elections, hands down. ZEC failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll for Pete’s sake.

Still the opposition participated in the flawed and illegal elections regardless because they all knew that Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats to entice them to participate. They all found the bait irresistible and did not care the elections would be rigged.

Of course, the opposition politicians knew that by participating in the flawed elections they would give the process credibility and, by extension, give the result legitimacy. Nelson Chamisa and his MDC A’s complaining that Mnangagwa rigged the elections and so lacked legitimacy was ignored with the contempt it rightly deserved – he was being childish in wanting to keep his cake and eat it too.

The suggestion that Zanu PF and MDC leaders should form a government of national unity is just another piece of recycled nonsense. The two parties were in the 2008 to 2013 GNU that failed to implement even one democratic reform. It is naïve to think a new GNU would do any better!

So, the only people with good reason to view Zimbabwe’s flawed and illegal elections as a waste of time and the resources are the ordinary Zimbabweans themselves. Elections are much more than just about the people’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country, they are the key, the DNA, of good governance.

Leaders who embrace free, fair and credible elections are not just being liberal and are accepting “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!” They are accepting that they are infallible and therefore must be accountable to the people who pay the ultimate price of every mistake they, the leaders, make!

There is no denying that the ordinary Zimbabweans are the ones who have suffered and many have died because of 41 years of Zanu PF misrule. The misrule has lasted all these years precisely because Zanu PF rigged the elections, usurping the people’s right and power to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country.

So, the ordinary Zimbabweans must voice their objection to the flawed and illegal elections and demand the implementation of the democratic reforms to restore all their freedoms and rights including the right to free elections and even the right to life itself!

Competition And Tarriffs Commission Probes Schools Over Mandatory Uniforms Directive

By A Correspondent- The Competition and Tariff Commission (CTC) has launched an investigation into reports of schools compelling parents and guardians to buy uniforms from preferred retailers and suppliers, a clear breach of free-market principles.

The statutory body says the practice is prohibited under Section 2 (Chapter 14:28) of the Competition Act.

“It is alleged that some schools are compelling parents and guardians to exclusively buy uniforms from the school and or preferred suppliers,” the Commission said in a statement.

Last year it was forced to act under similar circumstances, issuing a stern warning to schools over the monopolised supply of masks and sanitizers.

“The alleged practice may deprive parents and guardians of their right to choice of suppliers resulting in the procurement of uniforms at monopoly prices charged by the respective school or the preferred supplier.

“The practice may also affect potential suppliers of school uniforms into these closed markets,” the statutory body added.

Last month parents of Form 1 students had to seek government intervention, complaining they were forced to buy school supplies at astronomical prices due to the choice-limiting practice.

Some boarding schools were said to be charging between US$400 and US$600 for a complete set of uniforms.

The Commission said it would also investigate whether the “production and distribution of school uniforms” restricted competition “to a material degree.”-ZimLive

“It Can Only Be Zimbabwe Ruins”

Opinion

It is only in Zimbabwe where a President celebrates political party defectors instead of celebrating business investments;

Where a panicky President uses the captured Judiciary and Parliament to destroy genuine opposition parties;

Where the President pretends to fight corruption, but leads his followers in the massive looting of State resources;

Where the President bans elections fearing defeat by the opposition;

Where the President creates his own opposition parties and uses State money to bankroll their activities;

Where the ruling party continuously uses persecution, abduction and murder to remain in power;

Where the President deploys soldiers to shoot and kill unarmed protesters;

Where the President evicts poor rural villagers from their ancestral land to pave way for a white farmer to grow grass;

Five Feared Dead After Lorry Gets Stuck In Flooded River In Chikombedzi

By A Correspondent- Five people are feared dead after a lorry carrying them was swept away while trying to cross a flooded river in Chikombedzi on Monday.

Bodies of two of the five, a male and female adult have since been retrieved from Malibangwe River where the lorry was swept away after getting stuck in the mud along a narrow bridge.

There were 12 passengers aboard the lorry and all of them are believed to be traders who were travelling from Chiredzi Town to Samu market in Chikombedzi.

According to national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the five who were swept away with the lorry remained inside after seven other passengers and the driver teamed up to push start the DAF vehicle after it got stuck in the mud.

Water levels suddenly rose sweeping away the five people together with the lorry while the driver and other passengers escaped to safety.

Ass Commissioner Nyathi says police are still verifying names of the deceased and they will be released in due course.-statemedia

Missing Taxi Driver Found Dead

By A Correspondent- A taxi driver from Esigodini who went missing on March 15 after being hired by an unknown client has been found dead in the Falcon area.

Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena said Nhlanganiso Mlala (38) was found dead with stab wounds all over the body and three deep cuts on the head. Mlala is suspected to have been killed by an assailant who had hired him to go and collect goods from Falcon area.

“Mlala who was in the company of his wife Mejury Moyo was approached by an unknown assailant who asked to hire Mlala’s Honda Fit registration number AEL 5151 to go to Falcon area where he said he wanted to collect some goods.

“Mlala agreed to the hire and went with the man but never returned. The following day, puzzled by the failure of her husband to return home, Mlala’s wife went to Esigodini Police Station where she filed a report of a missing person,” said Insp Mangena.

“The same Tuesday, Mlala’s car allegedly got involved in an accident in Bulawayo and the driver disappeared from the scene.

“A search party which was mounted by the police searched for Mlala whom they found dead one hundred meters away from Esigodini Falcon Road. The body had several cuts and scratches all over, and the head had three deep cuts.”

Insp Mangena appealed to members of the public who might have knowledge on the whereabouts of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.

“The police are appealing to the members of the public who may have any knowledge about the suspect. Those who saw the person getting involved in an accident and running away may also come forth and help in arresting the suspect,” said Insp Mahiya.

Last year a 23-year-old National University of Science and Technology (Nust) student was brutally murdered by three assailants who allegedly hired him on the pretext that they wanted him to ferry their goods to Roseburn near Solusi. The police spokesperson warned taxi drivers against carrying suspicious people especially the ones they do not know.

“We are appealing to taxi drivers to inform their colleagues of their intended destinations when carrying suspicious passengers. They can even pass through a police station and register their destination,” she said.

Insp Mangena urged motorists to install trackers on their vehicles to make it easy to locate them once they are stolen.-newsday

Mnangagwa Says Chinese Loans Aren’t Dangerous At All, “When You Finish Paying The Loan, The Asset Remains With Us”

Warriors Arrive In Botswana For AFCON Qualifier Against Zebras

THE Zimbabwe national football team has arrived in Francistown, Botswana for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Zebras on Thursday.

With some of the players having arrived in Harare late on Tuesday, the Warriors flew out of Harare on Wednesday to Johannesburg, South Africa and then took a connecting flight to Francistown and arrived in the city where the match is being played late on the same day. The team arrived at its hotel just before midnight.

Having missed an opportunity to train at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium 24 hours prior to the match, it is all pointing to the Warriors taking to the field without having a feel of the match venue.

Zimbabwe are second on the log with five points, a point ahead of Botswana who are also chasing a ticket to Cameroon. Bottom of the log placed Zambia, whose remaining fixtures are against Algeria at home as well as Zimbabwe away still have a chance to qualify should they win their two matches and other results go their way. Algeria have already qualified for the tournament but might still want to finish the qualifiers without losing, which means Zambia and Botswana cannot expect favours from the North Africans.- Chronicle

Mnangagwa Has Not Captured Us – Bosso

Tshinga Dube, a long time Highlanders benefactor and life member, has allayed fears that the club had been captured by the ruling Zanu PF party after the government recently granted it a mining claim.

Angry Bosso fans have vented their feelings on social media against what they consider to be the hijacking of the club by the ruling party.

The fury was triggered by club officials’ offer of a personalised club replica jersey to President Emmerson Mnangagwa as a token of appreciation for the gold mine offer when he was in Bulawayo last month.

But speaking at the club’s annual general meeting on Sunday, Dube said the club belongs to “the people” regardless of political affiliation. Said, Dube:

I have heard that social media is abuzz with some people accusing others of selling the club to Zanu PF. That is not true.

Football belongs to the people regardless of political affiliation. It is known that the Queen of England supports Liverpool.

There are Highlanders members who are politicians and some are civil servants and so forth, but we cannot look at things in this way.

We have Omega Sibanda (Zanu PF MP), he is a politician, but he is a member of Highlanders.

We have Justice (Nicholas) Mathonsi here and he is a member of Highlanders.

So it is not correct to mix these things because even Dynamos as it is has a number of politicians.

Does it then mean that if you are in the Highlanders executive committee then you must buy Zanu PF membership cards? No! Let us correct this mentality.- NewsDay

Bush-Birth-Miracle, Prophetess In Hot Soup

A prophetess from Johanne Masowe eChishanu apostolic sect who operated a birth camp at her house in Manhenga area, Mashonaland Central, has been summoned to Chief Masembura’s court after failing to help a mother deliver twins resulting in her death.

Nyarai Chibati, also known as Madzimai Jennifer, operates the birth camp approximately 100 metres from Manhenga Clinic.

She told the chief’s court that she was not trained in providing pre and post-natal services but helping with delivery babies was a gift she received in church.

Mashonaland police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the incident which happened on March 17.

He said the deceased, Modesta Manhenzva (44) suffered complications during the delivery of the twins leading to her death. A post mortem conducted by Dr Kudzai Chimedza at Bindura Hospital indicates that she died because of a ruptured uterus and severe primary haemorrhage.

Speaking at the chief’s court, Madzimai Jennifer told the court that she managed one baby was delivered and the other one remained in the womb until the following day.

“The woman came from Norton to my house seeking assistance with her pregnancy. I attend the same church with her relatives. After praying for her she asked to stay and deliver at my house,” she said.

“She told me that she was given a prophecy that if she sought healthcare service at the hospital, she was going to deliver through a caesarean section and die together with the babies. She pleaded with me to assist as I was assisting others.

“She gave birth to the first twin baby and the other baby came out the following day. She thanked me for helping her. I cooked for her and after eating we started having general talk. In the middle of the night, I woke up and she was not breathing well.

“I woke her up and in a faint voice she said she wanted to rest. I advised her relative and after a short period she passed on.” Madzimai Jenifer said the police were advised and they came to collect the body.

Chief Masembura said pre and post-natal services were only provided at clinics and hospitals and he had since banned delivery of babies in bush camps or homes to curb maternal mortality.

“We stopped all traditional birth attendants who eschew modern healthcare in villages and have told them to send all pregnant women to clinics to save lives.

Delivery of twins is complicated and it is not possible that one child is born today and the other remains in the womb and is delivered the following day,” said Chief Masembura.

“This woman needed urgent medical attention and you failed to take her to a clinic which was approximately 100 metres away. Stop this practice of delivering babies and let nurses and doctors who are trained for that job do their work.” -Herald

Hell Breaks Loose For Chombo’s Land Baron.

Ignatius Chombo

Hell has broken loose for the land developer connected to former Local Govt Minister Ignatius Chombo, Felix Munyaradzi who is facing charges of interfering with a witness among other charges, was yesterday denied bail with Harare provincial magistrate Mrs Vongai Muchuchuti-Guwuriro saying he had failed to convince the court that he will not interfere with any witnesses.

Mrs Guwuriro, in her bail ruling, said the State’s fears were not far-fetched and that Munyaradzi had failed to make an undertaking that he will not interfere with the witness and that these fears could not be curtailed by imposing stringent bail conditions.

“State fears that he is likely to interfere cannot be said to be far-fetched. There is a prior attempt to interfere with one of the witnesses, Shadreck Homela. Accused did not show that he will not interfere once freed on bail and the possibility of interfering remains real.”

Mrs Guwuriro remanded Munyaradzi in custody to April 7.

The State led by Mis Audrey Chogumaira had opposed his bail application, expressing fears that Munyaradzi might interfere with witnesses since he has shown propensity to do so. “This is a case wherein accused has breached bail conditions and chances of interference are high. There are two outstanding statements that need to be recorded including from those sent by accused and the witness who was approached,” she said.

Munyaradzi, through lawyer Mr Nickiel Mushangwe, had submitted that he was a proper candidate for bail as the charges were an off-shoot from his main charge and the present matter should have been treated as an enquiry into the breach of bail conditions, not a fresh charge.

During the hearing Mr Mushangwe accused Assistant Commissioner Erasmus Makodza of causing Munyaradzi’s arrest after allegedly cooking the allegations against him. He said his client, out on bail since August 18 last year, had obeyed the bail condition of not interfering with witnesses.

He said there was personal animosity between Munyaradzi and the assistant commissioner, and between Munyaradzi and Homela since Homela owes Munyaradzi money. -Herald

What You Need To Know About Digestive Gas Pain

Government Agents Raid NGO Offices

Tinashe Sambiri|Suspected State Security agents invaded human rights organization, Heal Zimbabwe Trust offices in Harare on Tuesday afternoon.

Four individuals accused the organization of harbouring and nurturing anti- government elements.

They also threatened to quash the organization’s activities.

See Heal Zimbabwe Trust statement:

Today (Tuesday) at 12:47 Heal Zimbabwe was besieged by four unidentified people (2 women and 2 men) who threatened unspecified action and concerted unrelenting brutal action against the organisation for what they termed unpatriotic opposition to the government of Zimbabwe.

The attackers were aggressive and threatened to shut down the offices.

The attack came after Taurai Kundishaya visited Heal Zimbabwe Offices the previous day (22-03-21), took pictures and urged Zimbabweans to converge and protests at the organisation’s gates.

On his micro-blog Kundishaya alleged that Heal Zimbabwe was a “home of modern-day slavery, sabotage training, anti-gvt protests planning centre and other illegal activities.”

Heal Zimbabwe sees this as an orchestrated attack meant to frustrate the organisation’s peacebuilding and conflict transformation work. Traditionally, attacks on Civil Society Organisations begin with this kind of allegations leading to raids and arbitrary arrests and prosecutions. This desperate attempt to close down the civic space by disrupting the work of goodwill organisations such ours should end.

Heal Zimbabwe will continue to advocate for peaceful cohesive society which promotes tolerance and inclusive prosperity across all tiers of society!!

Mnangagwa Can Be Defeated Via Ballot Box

Tinashe Sambiri|The MDC Alliance believes Zanu PF can be defeated via the ballot box, contrary to claims that the former revolutionary party is invincible.

Zanu PF agents across the country are subtly discouraging young people from registering to vote under the “nothing will change” mantra.

Read the MDC Alliance Namibia statement below:

THE DIASPORA DEMANDS FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO VOTE AS A FULFILLMENT OF THE #GLOBALAGENDA, MDC ALLIANCE NAMIBIA ECHOES!

23 MARCH 2021

Mdc Alliance Namibia undertook a resounding launch of the Citizens Convergence for Change as part of the #Agenda2021 throughout its various branches in Namibia.

Mdc Alliance Namibia Rundu Branch Executive met and deliberated on the dire need to recruit and mobilise citizens in the diaspora especially in Namibia so that we are able to demand our fundamental right to vote in the diaspora.

As a branch, we resolved to implement the Party’s recently launched agenda 2021 which included #peoples’agenda, #globalagenda, #reformagenda and #citizensconvergenceforchange. During the meeting, Rundu Branch Treasurer General Obert Chesango urged the leadership of the party to give a clear direction on how the smart agenda should be implemented.

He expressed his worries ahead of 2023 general elections if the party delays to activate the masses into action particularly for comprehensive electoral and political reforms.

Furthermore, following a robust engagement, Rundu Branch Executive pledged to work diligently to implement the smart agenda of the party by mobilising for a serious campaign for the diaspora vote that will see the inclusion of an estimated population of 3 to 4 million Zimbabwean nationals residing outside the country , specifically in Namibia, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia, Zambia, Botswana, Germany only to mention but a few. As part of the party’s global agenda to include us in the national discourse by participating in the general elections in Zimbabwe, Rundu Branch exhibited its readiness to embrace the citizens converge for complete change.

Mdc Alliance Namibia is Cognisant of the fact that the diaspora now ranks as one of the chief contributors to Zimbabwe’s export earnings and 58% jump in remittances from US$635 million , means we can’t be sidelined in serious national issues that determine political and economic stability in the motherland. Statistics reflect that the diaspora contribution to the economy comes after platinum as the second highest. The organic and pragmatic branch executive led by Secretary General Simbarashe Ndoda gave a glance at the US$1 billion remittances that the country received last year from the diaspora, and resolved to push to be accorded more attention since the constituency has become an undoubted backbone of the country’s socio-economic dynamics.

Moreover, we demand that the diaspora must not be relegated to economic contributions. We say NO to this cold shoulder we are getting from our clueless and desperate government when it comes to the basic universal human rights to vote or offer political remedies to the corrupt Zanupf cronies. It is indisputable that 50% of the families (employed or unemployed) rely on remittances. It is in this complex frame that authorities need to come up with sound strategies to harness the undoubted potential of the diaspora factor to grant them the right to contribute economically, socially and politically to the nation’s growth in every aspect that affect citizens.

Moreso, Mdc Alliance Namibia Rundu Branch reminds Zanupf that diaspora vote becomes non-negotiable given how the diaspora is contributing to their beloved Motherland through remittances. We demand the fundamental electoral reforms before 2023 harmonised elections to avert another disputed poll. The vibrant branch remains resolutely behind the Citizens Convergence for Change where all progressive citizens are invited to unite to win Zimbabwe for change. It is now imperative for all poverty-stricken teachers, peasants, lawyers , doctors, nurses, learners, parents and students to converge and confront the beast in the eye. All social democrats must assemble and give a hot constitutional fight to those who eat on behalf of the hungry citizens. It should be clear to Zanupf that we are not in the diaspora by choice but we were pushed out our country by Zanupf terrorists.

In a nutshell, Mdc Alliance Namibia Rundu Branch Spokesperson demands that all right thinking citizens should unite as a people and ask for economic and political answers to the Zimbabwean question. Right now our Hon Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri are staying with a snake in the cells at Chikurubi maximum prison, Takudzwa Ngadziore is now more than 3 weeks old, incarcerated despite the police testifying that he was not part of the press conference addressed by Joana Mamombe demanding the unconditional release of #PeoplePower Leader and Mdc Alliance Youth Leader, Makomborero Haruzivishe ,this is clear Satanism by Zanupf therefore citizens convergence becomes compulsory. Section 59 of the 2013 constitution allows the citizens to petition and demonstrate their discontentment without fear of being persecuted by prosecution since it has become Zanupf’s modus operandi.

Armed MaShurugwi Invade Gold Mine

TWO of the 16 illegal gold miners who pounced on Eldorado Gold Mine on the outskirts of Chinhoyi last Friday morning have been arrested.

Ten others — two believed to be armed with guns — are still underground after gaining access to the mine shaft and hoisting out all mine workers.

They are believed to be mining.

The invasion, which occurred around 1am on Friday was captured on the mine’s CCTV and comes barely a week after the mine lost almost 1,5 kg of gold to robbers.

The two gang members were arrested on Monday evening after they were hoisted to the surface. Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Margaret Chitove confirmed the arrest and said the other 10 were still underground.

Illegal gold miner arrested at Eldorado Mine.

The gang gained entry into the mine premise by cutting through the perimeter fence and the 12 proceeded to the shaft entrance where they hoisted themselves underground, in front of CCTV cameras.

The other four simply disappeared into the dark.

When The Herald visited the mine last Friday, at least five armed police officers were manning the mine shaft entrance which has since been locked up. “Two of the men who gained access underground were holding guns. The other four vanished into the dark,” a security guard said.

Mine director Ms Emy Zhuang who said all the 12 were recorded on CCTV, added that mining operations have since been suspended.

“We have since lost over 18 hours of mining operations due to the attack. We have over 200 workers who need to be paid and each disruption affects work which in turn affects production.

“Last month we lost seven days of production to another invasion where six armed men invaded the mine.

“Police are now in charge and are very concerned about the safety of our workers. We are hopeful that they will be able to apprehend these culprits.”

Two weeks ago armed robbers made off with 3,3kg of amalgam gold from the mine which is close to about 1,5 kg of gold.- The Herald

Smooth Leadership Renewal In The Evangelical Lutheran Church In Zimbabwe

….as Bishops Kenneth Sibanda and Vushebwashe Mhaka formally take charge

By Dr Tinashe Gumbo

The day 21 March 2021, will be remembered by the Lutheran family as a historic day, when the Church renewed its leadership in a smooth and memorable fashion. At a colorful event held in Harare, Zimbabwe, Bishops Kenneth Sibanda and Vushebwashe Mhaka were installed and consecrated respectively. This critical event was initially scheduled for the 10th of January 2021, but was postponed due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, today, the event was held under strict COVID-19 protocols and most members across the globe followed the proceedings virtually while a limited number attended physically. All the surviving Retired and Serving ELCZ Bishops attended. Ecumenical partners from the region and internationally, also graced the event. The ELCZ in the region was well represented physically through the Lutheran Media Forum (LMR) and other key stakeholders. We say Congratulations to Bishops Sibanda and Mhaka! And…. thank you to our regional friend, Brother David Mang’enda of the LMF and our local media team for covering this one for the whole Church in the world to follow the proceedings.

The ELCZ

The ELCZ was founded in 1903 by missionaries of the Church of Sweden Mission and African evangelists from Natal (South Africa). Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia) was a mission field for the Lutheran Church in Natal. It began with educational work while the medical work was added in 1915, thus completing the three-fold ministry of Christ of preaching, teaching and healing. The first trained African pastor was ordained in 1937. The Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe became autonomous from the Church of Sweden Mission and the Church in Natal in 1962. Since then, the Church has grown in terms of its influence in socio, economic and political processes as well as in membership. The Church founded and currently runs Musume, Mnene, Masase and Manama Mission Schools and Hospitals. It has also ventured into humanitarian and development work through its service arms such as the Lutheran Development Services (LDS). Thus, the Church has remained relevant in the context of continued humanitarian challenges in Zimbabwe.

Prominent public officials are associated with the ELCZ including those in business, politics, academia and arts. The Church is divided into three Dioceses, that is, Western, covering the whole of Matebeleland South and North as well as Bulawayo provinces, currently being headed by Bishop M M S Dube; Eastern Diocese, headed by the new Bishop Mhaka (covering Chiredzi to Bindura via Masvingo, Mutare and Harare) as well as the Central Diocese (under Bishop Sibanda) which covers most of the Midlands and parts of the Masvingo province.

Ecumenical Work

The ELCZ has continued to be a key and influential member of the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) which is an ecumenical body made up of thirty protestant churches in Zimbabwe. The Church is also associated with the World Council of Churches (WCC). All the three Dioceses of the ELCZ are bona fide members of the ZCC. In the context of the country’s struggle for independence, the ZCC accompanied the nationalists at the Lancaster House Conference that saw Zimbabwe attaining its independence in 1980. Led by the now Retired Bishop JC Shiri of the ELCZ (as the President) who was accompanied by Rev Murombedzi Kuchera, the ZCC General Secretary then, the Church provided moral and spiritual support to the negotiations processes at Lancaster. Later on, in the 2000s, the now Retired Bishop Naison Shava, also led the ZCC as its President thereby presiding over some key nation building processes led by the Church in the context of the Unity Government in Zimbabwe. Furthermore, in early 2000s, the now Retired Bishop JS Moyo served in the ZCC as its Program Officer responsible for Youth and Evangelism programming. By the way, Bishop Moyo trained me to be a good programmer. I religiously attended his Family Education programs and indeed…I became a near good family man-thank you Bishop Moyo. This shows how the ELCZ has continued to be an ecumenical church working with others in the work of our Lord in Zimbabwe.

Briefly About the New Leadership

Bishop Mhaka comes in as the new Head of the Eastern Diocese. He takes over from Retired Bishop Chemist Faindi who has also been the Church’s Presiding Bishop until today. Having been born on a Christmas Day in the late sixties, Bishop Mhaka was educated at Masase and Mataruse Schools in Mberengwa. He later trained as a Teacher at the Marymount Teachers College before exercising his profession at Mangonde, Chiwara and Musiningira Schools in Mberengwa. Bishop Mhaka is a well-known Music Conductor and Adjudicator-his excellent singing voice is a testimony in this regard. While Bishop Mhaka only later joined the Ministry in 2003 (being influenced by the late Rev O Shiri, according to his interview with the LMF, 22 December 2020), he had already become a key member of the Church as a Youth leader in various capacities. He was later ordained in 2006 and worked for the Church in Mutare and Bulawayo before becoming a Lecturer at the United Theological College. The Eastern Diocese Bishop is a holder of a Bachelor of Theology Honors Degree, Master’s Degree in Theology and is working towards his PhD with the University of KwaZulu Natal.

I have personally known Bishop Mhaka since 2015. I particularly remember when he visited me in Msasa Park when I had just been diagnosed of some cancer in my body. He was in the company of Rev Gevous Savious, another close Man of God to my family. Indeed, I was at my lowest in my life. Hope was something that had vanished from me and indeed, everything had looked upside down-I thought yainge yadeuka and yainge isisaworereki. The Good Reverends prayed for me, prayed for my family, counselled my wife, and reiterated that God was still in control of my life. For some couple of days that followed, the two Men of God accompanied my family in that new life. It worked and today, I am part of the Lutheran multitudes who are celebrating the consecration of Bishop Mhaka. Congratulations My Bishop! From 2018, Bishop Mhaka and Mrs Mhaka have also been involved in peacebuilding processes that I have been part to.

As for Bishop Sibanda, the new Presiding Bishop, I cannot waste your time describing him. The man is not new in the Church and in the ecumenical movement at large. I worked with him on various assignments and programmes since 2003 when I joined the ZCC. Bishop Sibanda has been in the leadership of the ELCZ Church from the youth desk, as the Dean and later as Bishop and today, we say Congratulations to our new Presiding Bishop! Here is a humble and soft-spoken Man of God. To me and my family, Presiding Bishop Sibanda has been a close leader. He is accessible and I strongly believe that in him the ELCZ is in safe hands. I witnessed his consecration in December 2017 in Zvishavane as the new Bishop of the Central Diocese taking over from Retired Bishop Shava and continued to work closely with him in the ZCC Supervisory Council platforms. I got to appreciate his personal attributes as a leader.

The story can never be complete without indicating that the Retiring Bishop Faindi has also been a key figure in the Church. A firm but principled Man of God (probably becausec a Soldier will always be a Soldier) kkkk. Indeed, Bishop Faindi led a team of Bishops Sibanda and Dube with distinction. The ELCZ became so connected to the global Church during his tenure and this allowed for utilisation of some critical developmental opportunities that emerged. Thank you Sekuru vangu Bishop Faindi.

Thank you Bishop Faindi for the Job Well Done!

Congratulations Bishop Mhaka!

Congratulations Rt Rev Bishop Sibanda!

Congratulations the Lutheran Family!

Zimbabwe Is Cursed- Zivhu

Gareth Bale To Return To Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has confirmed that he will return to Real Madrid next season and will not extend the Tottenham loan transfer with another year.

The 31-year-old re-joined Spurs on a season-long loan in September but has struggled to reach his best form. His campaign has been marred by fitness issues which saw him dropped from the first XI several times.

The striker has made 25 appearances so far, scoring ten goals.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Wales’ opening 2022 World Cup qualifier in Belgium, Bale said: “There’s no distraction for me.

“I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.

“Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid. My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned.”

The 31-year-old’s Madrid contract runs until the end of the 2021-22 season.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

English Premiership Giants Eye Patson Daka

Two more EPL giants – Manchester City and Arsenal – have reportedly joined Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Zambian striker Patson Daka.

Daka is having an outstanding campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga and has so far scored 27 goals in 31 games across all competitions this term.

According to Austrian news outlet Salzburger Nachrichten, as cited by talkSPORT, the four English clubs are all showing an interest in the forward, who is currently believed to be valued at £17million (€20m) – with that figure likely to soar.

A number of other big European clubs are also said to be tracking him.

Daka, 22, is the latest player off the production line, with RB Salzburg already having produced current Liverpool players Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino who was loaned to Southampton in January.

The club also sold Erling Haaland to German outfit Borussia Dortmund last year. The Norwegian striker was also wanted by Manchester United but the EPL side failed to capture him.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Needs Investors, Not Defectors – President Chamisa

Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance leader President Nelson Chamisa has said Zimbabwe needs investors, not defectors.

President Chamisa was commenting on the defection of opposition members to Zanu PF.

Acording to the MDC Alliance leader, the people’s struggle will not be affected by defections.

“The struggle is not about monetary gains, rather it is about sacrifice.Let us focus on achieving our objectives.

The nation needs investors not defectors,” said President Chamisa.

Citing the biblical illustration of Gideon who is chosen by God to lead the battle against the Midianites, President Chamisa urged the nation to depend on the Lord for total deliverance from oppression.

“IT’S NOT BY OWN POWER….

Then the Lord said to Gideon, “There are too many people with you for Me to hand over Midian to them, otherwise Israel will boast [about themselves] against Me, saying, ‘My own power has rescued me.’
Judges 7:2 Blessed Sabbath. #Godisinit,” President Chamisa wrote on Twitter.

I Believe In Myself- Logarusic

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has rallied his charges ahead of tomorrow’s decisive AFCON qualifier against Botswana, saying they have to believe they can get the job done even without some regular key players.

The outspoken Croat is looking for his first win since his appointment in February last year and also seeking to become the first ever foreign coach to guide Zimbabwe to the continental spectacle.

He has to do so without Marvelous Nakamba, Tendayi Darikwa, Jordan Zemura and Admiral Muskwe, who are unable to take part due to travelling restrictions while Khama Billiat, Knox Mutizwa, Prince Dube and Divine Lunga are injured.

Logarusic however insists despite that setback, the job should be done and all that is needed, is self belief.

“It is not easy (not having some regular key players) and I am talking of big names who can play in any country. And it’s a big blow for us, but this is the reason we are here with the help of a few experienced players and our captain they will produce a good result. We are not crying. We have to believe in ourselves,” the coach said at yesterday’s press conference at Holiday Inn.

“I believe in myself. I saw the atmosphere. I have spoken to the boys, they are ready, they are committed, they are facing some problems, but problems we have to face them but I am very sure we will fix the problem,” he added.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

List Of Warriors Players In Camp

Here’s the reminder of the team in camp

Evans Rusike, Terrence Dzvukamanja

The Warriors leave for Botswana this afternoon . Tomorrow we play the Zebras at 6PM in a crucial AFCON qualifier between second and third in Group H.

A positive result against a team that is also hoping to pip us to second position will be important.

The two teams played out a goalless draw when Botswana came to Harare in the opening qualifier in November 2019.

A lot has changed since then, especially the fact that Algeria has already qualified for the Cameroon finals as group winners.
That leaves only one slot to be secured by either of Zimbabwe (5 points), Botwana (4) and Zambia (3).

We probably have the best scenario heading into the run in because we have to play our direct competitors while Botswana and Zambia have to play Algeria.- ZIFA

Zimbabwe Is Cursed- Former Zanu PF MP

Tinashe Sambiri|Former Zanu PF MP for Chivi South Constituency, Killer Zivhu has said the late MDC founding President and former Prime Minister Right Honourable Morgan Richard Tsvangirai won the 2008 Presidential election but Robert Mugabe clinged to power despite the heavy defeat.

According to Zivhu, elections will not change anything in the country.

“Do we really need elections in Zimbabwe or it’s just a waste of time and resources, Tsvangirayi won elections Mugabe akaramba kubva only to admit adzingwa kuti ndakadyiwa (refused to admit he had lost, only admitting that he lost the elections after he had been toppled).

Let’s have a national dialogue then an inclusive government.

Zvema elections kutamba nenguva (elections are a waste of time).”

He added :
“Guys does our constitution allow us to change the name of our country, zita rokuti Zimbabwe rinotipa munyama, kutukwa, kuvengwa kune dzimwe nyika (the name Zimbabwe gives us bad luck. We are ridiculed and hated when we travel to other countries).

We have changed leadership from all political parties but still, nothing changed people are still suffering. Lets change the name.”

Hon Tsunga says he cannot abandon the electorate.

“After the recall I will continue to work with the people of Mutasa South.

“Zanu PF Can Be Defeated Via Ballot Box “

Tinashe Sambiri|The MDC Alliance believes Zanu PF can be defeated via the ballot box, contrary to claims that the former revolutionary party is invincible.

Zanu PF agents across the country are subtly discouraging young people from registering to vote under the “nothing will change” mantra.
