Violent Police Officer given instant justice.
Five (5) RDZ supporters from Buhera West were yesterday attacked by a uniformed police officer, one Constable Dick, who violently disrupted their meeting at Jaggers Business Centre.
The officer arrived in a ZANU PF vehicle (owned by ZANU PF bigwig Saul Nzuma) and began assaulting the activists while demanding the meeting (although being approved by the ZRP force as ZimEye.com can reveal) be stopped.
The police officer upon disembarking from the vehicle, immediately began physically assaulting party Provincial Secretary Jameson Muzerengwa while he was addressing the meeting.
Besides the physical assaults, there were no attempts whatsoever to conduct a lawful arrest as is procedural under the constitution – It was all violence upon violence.
It was at that point that the activists ended up defending themselves, and the cop was given a bashing.
Several other police officers soon arrived at the scene to save Constable Dick while also apprehending the activists.
The RDZ members were detained overnight at ZRP Buhera station and charged for effecting instant justice on a uniformed police officer.
They were fined $25 each.
The activists are Samuel Manonge, Ezekiel Mamvura, Brigthon Mugwadi, Cecilia Takaendesa and Tawanda Machodo.
