Staff Reporter| Primary and Secondary School Minister, Lazarus Dokora poured humiliation on President Robert Mugabe over his latest official orders to introduce Mathematics in Ndebele, Shona, and Xhosa.
Dokora has to date banned the Bible in schools, and closed voluntary club Scripture Union the latter move which he soon subtly reversed after being confronted by ZimEye.com.
He has also among several other things ordered the immoral forcing of school children as young as six (6) to gesture military salutes among a litany of other tedious recitals. But his latest move has provoked greater public anger as he said that Mathematics is now to be taught in Shona, Ndebele, Xhosa and Tonga.
Wrote Mr Peter Hambira: “Dofora wants to destroy the future of our children. Imagine grade one doing seven or ten subjects and parents have become assistant teachers because of homework that is being loaded to children. What are teachers doing the whole day? And Dofora seems to be implementing his own things without consulting other MPs. The parliament portfolio for education must deal with this deadly minister who want to destroy our education system. Very soon he will introduce Satanism in schools and force schools to accept as what was done to national Pledge”.

It’s sad really what this guy Dokora is doing…He is throwing Zimbabwe back into the dark ages.
Some have stated China ,France ,and even South Africa. But they have forgotten something important.
1.France is a developed country , its language has been developed over a thousand years,so has the Chinese language .Shona and ndebele languages are babies in terms of languages and vocabularies, for example Shona is was officially vocabularised in 1958 ,into the Shona we now all use now. We
Yes there is room for it to improve, since other countries such as Botswana and South Africa have been teaching in local languages as well ,but the question is with what consequence?.
2.This brings me to this point ,The cited countries eg ,France ,China and South African have different rates of success.
For France it has been able to achieve success, well because France is a firmer colonial master ,it has almost half the world speaking French ,so a French person can afford to speak French no problem, and still find a job and communicate around the world.
Compare this with China and South Africa, these are developing countries.South Africans are one of the most confused lot,and hard to teach .They learnt everything in local languages, but have poor English.Thats why most fail at university ,all south African students have high grades for their local languages..But fail English, most can’t even get into Their own Universities, because they lack the required B symbol for English. Most South Africans drop off from university in their first year, and are never seen again, Because they can’t cope with the new environment.
China is on a massive recruitment of English teachers ,most of its people, including the president can’t speak English…Many Zimbabweans are working in China , teaching English.China has seen the folly of its ways and its paying the cost of its ignorance.
China , although becoming a superhouse,is finding it difficult to do business with the world .Hence it’s drive to get it’s population educated in English.
3.Lets Look at the South African model which ,Dr Chihambakwe used as a role model.
Most students learn using their local languages, but most can’t speak or write proper English, this is the reason why many Zimbabwean teachers were popular amongst the South Africans,Infact ,most parents are moving their children to private schools, some of which owned by Zimbabweans.
The report is Sooo out of date it’s shocking. This report is some 10 years or more since it was released,I’m open for correction.South Africa has and is trying to move away from its previous curriculum which we are trying to implement, does anyone see the crazy side
Parents its time we stand up against this shit. Where are the education unions, school Dev committees
Who made him the Education Minister is the one to wake up to reality. This man is OK in his own ambitions and philosophy of life as a muslim. The person who appointed him and keeping him in that position in the wake of all he is reported to be doing and saying in that office, is the person who is not good for our country.Ndiye arikurasika.
we need to go back to the old and very successful system of education that we used in the eighties omce we get rid of this dokora and clueless zanu pf and their mass indoctrination ideas
‘Dokora humiliates president Mugabe’ aaaaa i cant get the sense.
