By Paul Nyathi | Troubled MDC-T Deputy President Thokozani Khuphe on Saturday attended a welcome home ceremony for would be Ndebele King Prince Bulelani Collins Lobengula Khumalo in Bulawayo and got herself an alliance endorsement from the Mthwakazi Kingdom proponents, ZimEye.com can reveal.

Sources that attended the ceremony told ZimEye.com that Khuphe was at the private ceremony in the company of equally beleaguered MDC-T Organising Secretary Abednico Bhebhe.

According to the sources, Khuphe arrived at the ceremony which went through the night shortly after sunset and was received by a thunderous applause from the guests at the ceremony.

According to the sources she had a brief close discussion with Prince Bulelani Lobengula Khumalo and the chiefs before she was introduced to the gathering as “political mother of the nation.”

The want out MDC-T Deputy President of more than a decade is reported to have been promised allegiance by members of the Mthwakazi grouping that were at the ceremony.

Spokesperson for the Crown Council Effie Ncube confirmed to ZimEye.com that Khuphe was at ceremony but would not be drawn to divulge what was discussed with the self proclaimed MDC-T interim President.

Ncube said that he had temporarily left the ceremony when Khuphe arrived and so not sure what she may have discussed.

“It was already in the evening. I will find out from colleagues. I found them already in when I came back from town,” said Ncube.
