President Emmerson Mnangagwa has riled pressure groups and human rights activists after demanding evidence of election rigging and violence in 2008.
Mnangagwa recently claimed the 2008 elections were free and fair.
The President also said: “Where is the evidence? Show us the evidence.”
Responding to Mnangagwa’ s utterances, Doug Coltart wrote on Twitter:
“Mnangagwa said the 2008 election was very
fair and demanded to see the evidence of
violence.
The violence has been extensively
documented.”
Prominent human rights activist, Prosper Tiringindi also said Mnangagwa was out sync with the reality on the ground.
