What happened during those moments (at exactly 2.29am) suggests that contrary to statements that she was under arrest, Grace Mugabe was still fairly powerful and capable of personally (without her husband) commandeering gun toting CIOs to perform a very dangerous operation, hours after the army had announced saying Mugabe and his family were safe but “we are targeting criminals around the President.” The CIOs, as Mugabe reveals in his recent interview, drove to Kasukuwere’s house to rescue the two families who were then driven to safety (inside) Mugabe’s Blue Roof mansion where they stayed for several weeks.

Grace performed her military-confrontation operation in her husband’s absence: Robert Mugabe (then still President) says “I was not there.”

It was risky and an open fire exchange could have transpired between the two forces as the army had made it clear that anyone who stands in their way was risking their lives.

As bullets were being fired by charging soldiers just after 2 am on the 15th November, Grace Mugabe rose to bravery to personally save professor Jonathan Moyo and his colleague Saviour Kasukuwere and the two’s families.

Mugabe says she did all this alone in her husband’s absence.

Her husband Robert spoke to journalists for the first time saying she rose up and personally commandeered her own security team to go and save the two G40 ministers after they telephoned her during the horrific drama, just as they were screaming out, “Mhamha save us, please save us!”

Prof Jonathan Moyo can be seen panicking as he paced around the corridor while wearing a pair of socks while following his children.

The ministers were then miraculously saved after the snipers had briefly retreated according to a separate previous report. Grace’s CIOs who had been told to die if need be, managed to travel to Kasukuwere’s house and rescue the two families of Moyo and Kasukuwere.

The two’s families were taken to Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence and kept there after which time the men were led out and given a CIO assisted exit. Corroborating on this, Jonathan Moyo says he was saved by “angels” who he also calls Mugabe’s men.

Despite Mugabe’s testimony, sources close in the Lacoste faction told ZimEye contrary to Mugabe’s claims of danger, Grace’s rescue operation was easy because the army allowed it to happen. “They even escorted the cars with Kasukuwere and Jonathan inside,” one source told ZimEye.
