He will next week attend the EU Africa Summit in Brussels.

The annual Africa Summit titled “What Africa wants from Europe” will take place on Monday 4 June at 15:00. The debate will be followed by a networking event.

A reading on the programme reads as follows:

Africa, with its changing economic, political and demographic landscape, remains high on the EU agenda while Europe is a key partner for Africa. Over the years, Europeans and Africans have interacted in many ways. They continue to work together to tackle common challenges, but we need to know more about what Africans want from their partnership. What is the future of Africa-Europe relations in a changing global landscape and how can civil society actors be given a stronger voice? How can Africa and Europe expand their trade and investment links to tap into the full potential of their economic partnership? What is the potential of Africa’s creative and high tech industries?” EU Brussels
