In spite of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’ s ‘Zimbabwe is Open for Business’ mantra, a senior Zanu PF official in Chiredzi is clandestinely pushing for the invasion of Tongaat Hullet Sugarcane Plots, it has emerged.

Former Tongaat Hullet Director for Agriculture, Farai Musikavanhu, who will represent Zanu PF in the Chiredzi West Parliamentary election, is working with senior ruling party officials to grab Tongaat Hullet plots.

Sources at Tongaat Hullet revealed at the weekend Musikavanhu was holding secret secret meetings with war veterans and Zanu PF supporters- purportedly to address pressing issues in the area.

“Musikavanhu and his supporters are targeting Tongaat Hullet Sugarcane Plots. They are determined to takeover productive land in a move that is likely to result in job losses,” Tongaat Hullet sources said.

However Musikavanhu claimed his detractors were desperate to discredit him before the elections.
