By Paul Nyathi|President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hailed opposition MDC Alliance for holding a successful and peaceful demonstration on Tuesday.
In his official Facebook page Mnangagwa claimed that the demonstration was a sign of renewed democracy in the country.
Wrote President Mnangagwa:
Anyone who doubts the democracy at play in the new Zimbabwe only had to witness the scenes in Harare yesterday, where opposition supporters demonstrated freely, without fear or intimidation.
I once again state loudly and clearly my commitment to free and fair elections, and call on all sides to campaign peacefully as we move towards the harmonised elections.
Let us on all sides allow our brothers and sisters to differ with us, but never resort to violence!
The President’s ruling ZANU PF will also hold a similar march in the capital on Wednesday.
