By Own Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said any changes to the current administration should come through the ballot box instead of violence or bloodshed.

Mnangagwa’s statement follows an incident at White City Stadium in Bulawayo where a hand grenade was thrown at him and senior party officials just after he had finished addressing Zanu-PF supporters at a rally.

Said Mnangagwa:

“We will not allow the use of violence to mould our thoughts, ideology or politics. The only instrument for change will be through the ballot box, and not the gun, the explosives or other tools of violence and bloodshed.

Those who tried to hurt me are not my enemies, they are the enemies of our new Zimbabwe which we are striving together to reach. The forces of peace, progress and democracy cannot be stopped.”

Mnangagwa, is however on record implicating Generation 40, a faction within Zanu Pf which was fronted by former first lady, Dr Grace Mugabe, former Zanu Pf National Political Commisser Saviour Kasukuwere and self exiled former minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Professor Jonathan Moyo among others to be behind the attack which claimed 2 lives and left 47 others injured.
