There is a raging hegemonic battle between Zanu PF and the MDC Alliance in Masvingo province as the two parties fight for political supremacy six days before the polls.

Both parties claim their posters are being destroyed in spite of the pleas for peace and tranquility from stakeholders.

A statement released by the MDC Alliance Masvingo yesterday indicated that Zanu PF supporters allegedly destroyed the coalition’ s campaign posters in ward 9, Rhodhene, Masvingo last Friday.

“We regret to inform you that our posters are being destroyed by unruly Zanu PF thugs.

Zanu PF supporters destroyed MDC Alliance campaign posters in Rhodhene, Masvingo last Friday and we urge our members to remain calm,” read part of the statement.

Zanu PF youths have also blamed MDC Alliance supporters of destroying ruling party posters.
