1 September 2018
By Own Correspondent| The European Union (EU) has distanced itself from reports alleging that the bloc is pushing for opposition MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa to accept President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s legitimacy and for the Zanu PF leader to reach out to his adversary and work with him.
However, an official at the embassy, Thomas van Handel, said the EU was not involved in bringing the two camps together revealing that the EU encouraged inclusive dialogue.
He said:
“As EU delegation, we are not involved in such negotiations, if there are any. Nevertheless, we encourage inclusive dialogue.”-Newsday
