The newly appointed UN ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Bishow Parajuli has presented his credentials to President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare this Thursday.
Mr Parajuli, who has been serving as the UNDP Resident Coordinator, has been elevated to become Resident Coordinator for all UN agencies working in Zimbabwe.

He was accompanied to State House for the presentation ceremony by several UN agencies representatives – UNPFPA representative Dr Esther Muia, ILO director Ms Hopolang Phororo, UNICEF representative Dr Mohamed Ayoya, World Food Programme country director and representative Mr Eddie Rowe, UNHCR representative Mr Robert Tibagwa, UNESCO Regional Director and Representative Professor Hubert Gijzen, WHO representative Dr Alex Gasasira and UN Women representative Ms Delphine Serumaga.
The head of RCO Ms Kanako Mabuchi and the UK communications specialist in the Resident Coordinator’s Office Mr Sirak Gerehiwot were also present.
Mr Parajuli now reports directly to the UN Secretary General Mr Antonio Guterres following reforms in the world body.
His elevation was with effect from the first of January this year following exchange of letters between President Mnangagwa and the Secretary General.
The promotion means Mr Parajuli now has ambassadorial powers where he no longer presents credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs but to the head of state.
