Farai Dziva| Several senior players at CAPS United are refusing to train with the team as a result of unpaid salaries.
According to H-Metro, new signings Gabriel Nyoni, Newman Sianchali and Phenias Bamusi along with the likes of Prosper Chigumba, Justice Jangano, Method Mwanjali and Dominic Mukandi did not attend the training session complaining about unpaid January salaries.
“The team is on strike. The senior players didn’t attend the training except Hardlife Zvirekwi and Chris Mverechena,” an unnamed source told the newspaper.
The Green Machine is not the only club to be hit by player strikes of late. Last week Highlanders’ preparations for the new season had a false start after players walked out of the camp demanding payment of all outstanding dues.
