Zambian Vice-President Inonge Wina‘s medical condition has worsened in India where she is hospitalized, government sources have told the Watchdog.

Wina was secretly evacuated to India three ago where she is been treated for swollen legs and heart complications.

When the Watchdog broke the story of Wina’s hospitalization in India 2 weeks ago, the government responded that she had gone for a ‘routine operation’ and was then just recuperating. It’s now more than two weeks.

But government sources tell the Watchdog that doctors attending to Wina have advised her to retire on medical grounds as she is incapable of continuing to work.

At home, minister of health Chitalu Chilufya has continued positioning himself as vice-president.
