By Own Correspondent| At least 23 out of 24 bodies retrieved at Battlefields mine disaster have been positively identified and government is now working with the deceased’s relatives to make burial arrangements. 

Rescuers managed to retrieve 19 bodies by midnight after five others had been hoisted to the surface earlier on Saturday.

Eight people who were retrieved alive in Saturday were taken to Kadoma General Hospital.

Seven of them have since been discharged after assessment by doctors. The remaining survivor is reportedly in the intensive care unit due to the severity of the injuries and trauma he suffered while underground.
