A male student at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), was on Wednesday night run over and killed by the institution’s bus.

The incident occurred during a stampede, with students trying to board the bus.

The bus is said to have been in motion as the driver was in the process of parking it properly when the student fell down and critically injured.

The injured student was initially taken to Chinhoyi General Hospital but later referred to Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare.

He, however, succumbed to his injuries en route to Parirenyatwa.

The incident was confirmed by Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara.

The name of the deceased student has not yet been revealed.
