By Own Correspondent- An alternative road linking Kopa and Chipinge was opened today.

The road provides relief following the devastation of Cyclone Idai which destroyed the regular road. The road maintenance project was led by the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe  (UCAZ).

UCAZ President, Councillor Josiah Makombe, who handed over the road at the official opening on Saturday said:

As UCAZ we sat and deliberated on how we could assist the victims and we chose to maintain the Kopa-Chipinge road given the huge demand of the road

Amoung the groups to benefit from the new road are Banana and orange farmers in Chipinge.-StateMedia
