Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator, Justice Mayor Wadyajena who chairs the parliamentary portfolio committee on lands and agriculture seems unimpressed by the story carried in the state owned Herald which hailed how the government saved a coffee farmer from losing his estate, saying his committee will today host the permanent secretary in the ministry of agriculture to clarify land invasions and disputes.
Wadyajena said no farmer would require saving if rule of law and property rights are respected.
” Lands & Agric Perm Sec appears today to clarify land invasions & disputes. No farmer would ever require ‘saving’ by GVT if we simply made the rule of law & respect for property rights supreme! Cronyism is dangerous, not everyone is a farmer & invaders must be severely punished!,” said Wadyajena.
