Warriors man Alec Mudimu has jetted out of Wales to play his football in Moldova.
The news was excitedly announced by the Moldovan side – FC Sheriff – on their social media in the early hours of this morning. The 24-year-old midfielder leaves behind Welsh Premier League side Cefn Druids.
”The management of FC Sheriff and the Welsh club Kevn Druids agreed on the transfer of Zimbabwean midfielder Alec Takund Mudimu,” wrote the club.
Additionally, it was also confirmed that the deal is an early January transfer deal which will see the Zimbabwean will meet his teammates on the 20th of next month.
“The footballer will become part of the large family of FC Sheriff on January 20 next year.”
“Zimbabwe national team player Alec Mudimu was born in the Zimbabwean capital Harare on April 8, 1995. He spent his entire adult life in the UK, and received his football education at Sheffield Wednesday. Mudimu’s last club was the Welsh Cefn Druids, for which he played 48 matches and scored two goals,” added the club’s statement.
Mudimu’s new club currently lead the Moldovan league with 17 points and are 17-time champions. Three other Africans at the club include Senegal central defender Ousmane N’Diaye, Burkinabe right-back Wilfried Balima and Cameroon striker Robert Tambe.
