Jane Mlambo| Local civil groups have demanded that former South African President Thabo Mbeki who is currently in the country to meet and discuss with political leaders, should also rope in civil society so that the process becomes inclusive.

Political commentator, Earnest Mudzengi said the inclusion of civil society was key to avoid the pitfalls of history.

Posting on Twitter, Mudzengi said civil society should be included in an any dialogue process.

Since his arrival on Monday, Mbeki has met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, leaders of smaller political parties under the banner of POLAD as well as National People First.

Yesterday, he had a second meeting with Chamisa whose details have not been revealed.

Both Zanu PF and POLAD members have dismissed prospects of a Government of National Unity saying Mbeki is in the country to appreciate the situation on the ground.
