By Alice Majola| Ever since Robert Mugabe imposed this man onto the lives of Zimbabweans in 1980 when he made him head of the CIO, thousands of innocent Zimbabweans have died because of his actions. Yes, that is a fact.
As head of the CIO in the 1980s, Mnangagwa was responsible for the so called intelligence which led to tens of thousands of Ndebele people being murdered in cold blood. Even members of Zanu pf were not immune to Mnangagwa’s cruelty.
It is said that he was involved in the disappearance of millions of dollars in the hundreds from  the war veteran compensation fund in the 1980s. It is also said that he was the man who came up with the plan to help Kabila in the DRC which involved sending Zimbabwean soldiers and air force into the jungles of the Congo, many to their deaths.
Till this day, the Zimbabwean government has not compensated families of the many soldiers who died fighting that war which they had no business to get involved in.
Mnangagwa is the same man who in 2008 took away Zimbabwe’s hope of democracy when he rigged the 2008 election which had been won by Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDC. Not only that, but he also sent out the military and thugs into the towns and rural areas to beat up and kill MDC supporters.Â
Fast forward to 2017, Mnangagwa led a coup which removed Mugabe and then made himself president. He then consolidated that position by rigging the 2018 election and sending soldiers to kill protesters in Harare in broad day light. In 2019, he also sent out soldiers and other state sanctioned thugs into the towns and cities to beat up and kill MDC supporters and innocent members of the public. Again, in 2019, fearing an uprising, he began abducting and arresting members of the public who were seen as a threat to his rule.
This was just a brief history of Mnangagwa’s death causing activities. In between the killings, him and his friends continue to loot the country’s resources. In other words, stealing and corruption is what Mnangagwa does when he is having a day off from sanctioning violence and murder. I don’t know what Zimbabweans did to deserve this man in our lives.
He really is a curse upon our lives, a curse that needs to be removed as soon as possible before it wipes out an entire generation. In Zimbabwe we call such a curse, goblin. Many people thought it was Mugabe who was the goblin, but looking back now it is clear the real goblin is Mnangagwa.
