By Jealousy Mawarire | Anyone who thinks the current joint army & ZRP blitz against artisanal miners, mostly in the Mazowe area, is a fight against Mashurugwi is either politically naive or dangerously optimistic of @edmnangagwa purported fight against his Al-Shabab gangsters now known as Mashurugwi.

(2) The people being arrested in Mazowe are not Mashurugwi but artisanal miners (Makorokoza). There is a difference of day & night between Makorokoza & Mashurugwi. Mashurugwi are murderers, criminal elements who raid Makorokoza and legal small-scale miners of their gold.

There is a clear motive 4 the attacks on artisanal miners in Mazowe & it’s both political & economic. It’s very clear that @edmnangagwa has failed to make political inroads in Mash Central & his response has been to attack the youths in the province who have snubbed him.

@edmnangagwa has gone out to punish the youths in the province by attacking their only source of livelihood (artisanal mining) under the guise of fighting Mashurugwi. Who doesn’t know Midlands, especially Kwekwe & Kadoma, is the hotbed of Mashurugwi? Why not start there?

The economic reason for the attacks on artisanal miners in Mazowe is to pave way for the first family joint mining venture with Belarusians in the same area. The blitz has nothing to do with the Mashurugwi menance but an operation to unabate mineral plunder by one family.

Any fight against Mashurugwi should ordinarily start with the President’s home area if he is genuine about combating the menace. Anything else is hoodwinking us into believing he is acting in the public good when he is advancing his looting.

A genuine operation against Mashurugwi should start with @edmnangagwa firing Minister Ncube, long implicated as leader of these murderers, followed by the resignation of the President who is also implicated as their Godfather. Anything else is disingenuous & hypocritical.
