Gwanda Man Murders Friend In A Scuffle Over Beer At An Outlet That Remained Open Despite National Lockdown.

A man from Nyandeni area of Gwanda has been arrested after a gruesome murder of his friend in a misunderstanding over proportions of drinking a 200ml spirit liquor.

The man who is set to appear in court in Gwanda is alleged to have stabbed his now deceased friend six times with an Okapi knife after he accused his friend of drinking too much of the low cost liquor.

According to ZimEye.com sources in the area, the murderer chased his victim for a distance of over three hundred metres from their drinking place before stabbing him dead on the main Bulawayo to Gwanda highway at Mtshabezi Mission turnoff.

The witnesses indicated that other patrons at the drinking place, which remained open despite the lockdown regulations, could not restrain the murderer accused who was threatening to stab everyone around.

The villagers made a report to police in Gwanda leading to his arrest.
