By A Correspondent- The arrested MDC Alliance trio Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova are yet to appear at court amid revelations that the police are delaying the process of taking them to court.

In the morning, the trio were reportedly delayed as the police were said to be taking their fingerprints.

Said a source privy to developments:

“The three are supposed to appear in Court today Friday. They were supposed to have been at court by 0900hrs but they are still not yet here. We are hearing that they have been delayed because the police are now taking their fingerprints. I am not too sure if they will make it on time because their court sitting is supposed to be at 11:15 am.”

However, by 12:30hrs, the trio were yet to appear at court.

Added a source:

“The delays are deliberate so that they remand them in custody this weekend. They are frustrating their lawyers becuase no valid reason is being given whye they are not at court.”

The development comes as the abducted and tortured MDC Alliance trio spent the night behind bars following their arrest for faking an abduction.
