Five (5) people have tested positive for coronavirus this Wednesday, 24 June 2020 from 84 RDT screening tests and 654 PCR diagnostic tests that were conducted by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
All the cases were returnees from South Africa, and the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 530. The Health Ministry said in a statement:
Five (5) cases tested positive for COVID-19 today. These are all returnees from South Africa and are all isolated.
Recoveries were reported by the following provinces; Harare (32), Mashonaland East (11), Matabeleland South (15) and Midlands (1).
Today 84 RDT screening tests and 654 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 64 520 (36 267 RDT and 28 253 PCR).
To date the total number of confirmed cases is 530; recovered 123, active cases 401 and 6 deaths, since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020.
