FC PLATINUM midfielder Ralph Kawondera believes coach Pieter de Jongh decision to ‘lock them up’ has helped them to remain in good shape.
The rest of Pure Platinum Play players remain are ‘locked up’ in Zvishavane since the beginning of the lockdown period as a directive from de Jongh.
As reported by H-Metro earlier, the Dutch tactician has ordered all the players to remain in the mining town until a clear roadmap on the future of football in the country is released.
And speaking to H-Metro yesterday, Kawondera said the move by their coach has been helpful.
He said in as much they thought they could have managed it while at their homes, it has been more effective under de Jongh’s arrangement.
“Get me right, obviously the best feeling is to be with your family and loved ones especially during these trying times of Covid-19. That enable us to check on them and get an opportunity to create that bond since we are always on the road as players.
“That was not possible because we have been here in Zvishavane since lockdown period.
You know that order from the coach for us to remain here so that it’s easy for them to monitor if we are adhering to the workouts they would send to us.
“I think it has been helpful, personally my fitness levels are up there and it’s because of the decision for us to remain here. We are required to do run and do some workouts every day,” said Kawondera-H-Metro
