Leeds United youth player Ethan Kachosa says his team’s promotion into the English Premier League is historic.

Kachosa believes it is an opportunity for him to impress and play at the biggest stage.

“The promotion is massive for the club and for the city, as it’s been a long 16 years without top flight football for such a historic club.

“For me, it’s a great opportunity to impress and play at the biggest stage hopefully!
“From what I did witness in and around the place.

“Everyone has worked so hard to be in the position where we are in, especially the players that have put in the work every day.

“There has been a lot of sacrifices the players have had to make but it’s all been worth it with promotion and has injected a sort of buzz in the city as well as the club for definite,” he said.

Kachosa says he hopes to break into the first team.

“That is of course my main goal to push towards the first team picture.

“And that will hopefully happen with hard work and determination from myself, everyday in trainings on and off the field,” he said.

With his name being part of the team, it adds to Zimbabwean footballers involved with English Premiership clubs, Kachosa says it will help put local football on the map.

“It of course show’s there are talented Zimbabwean footballers out there weather that’s in Zimbabwe or elsewhere and hopefully more and more people will take notice of the talent out there,” he said.

Asked whether he is hopeful of playing for the Warriors he said its early to say and his focus right now is on Leeds.

“It’s very early on in my career, and as you may know, I am eligible to play for England as well as the warriors.

“Only time will tell as to what happens, but at the moment I have got my head down, working as hard as I can for the return of football with my club Leeds United,” he said-H-Metro
