By Jane Mlambo| Grammy nominated Jamaican band, Morgan Heritage has joined widening calls for solidarity with Zimbabwean people through the trending hashtag #ZimbabweanLivesMatter by appealing for help to ‘brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe’.

Responding to a tweet in which a Zimbabwean appealed to the band to voice out against human rights abuses by the government of Zimbabwe, the group said they like many other global influencers who have already tweeted using the trending hashtag, stand with Zimbabwe.

“Jah come help our falling race! Our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe needs your help. We stand with you!#ZimbabweanLivesMatter,” said Morgan Heritage.

Several prominent people across the globe have voiced out against excesses of the government of Zimbabwe including former Liberian President Madam Sirleaf Johnson, Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera, South African opposition leaders Julias Malema and Mmusi Maimane among others.
