The European Union has said it will defend the International Criminal Court against attempts to undermine it. The EU is the latest institution to stand behind ICC after the US government sanctioned top court officials. The Trump administration has blacklisted ICC’s chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda and her top aide over the court’s investigation into whether US forces committed war crimes in Afghanistan.
