By A Correspondent| A South African based researcher, Ringisai Chikohomero has labelled the African National Congress (ANC) trip to Zimbabwe where they met their Zanu PF counterparts as a wasted one.

Yesterday, an ANC delegation led by Secretary General Ace Magashule met the Zanu PF politburo in Harare where they held talks on the current situation in Zimbabwe.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Magashule said the discussions were fruitful while he also refuted claims of a crisis in Zimbabwe choosing to call it challenges.

However, Chikohomero said the trip was wasted effort as Zanu PF foisted its narrative that the problems in Zimbabwe were caused by western countries.

“This is a political party to political party conversation. I foresee the ANC moving along with the ZANU-PF narrative. ZANU-PF will play all the cards to make sure the ANC supports ZANU-PF and the narrative is that what is happening in the country is an imperialist narrative thus, the Western countries are the ones behind the turmoil in the country.

“It’s another wasted trip it’s not the first time Ace has come to Zimbabwe he came last year to preach a message of solidarity following the death of those 14 civilians so it’s just  another wasted trip,” said Chikohomero.
