President Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance defeated MDC T and ZANU PF in the Gwanda Mayoral election.

Today there were Mayoral elections in Gwanda. MDC Alliance mayoral candidate
councillor NJABULO SIZIBA of MDC Alliance is the new mayor.

MDC T led by Thokozani Khupe through Secretary General Mwonzora wrote a letter to Minister of local Government and recalled the former mayor.

However, the remaining councillors defied MDC T directive to vote MDC T mayoral candidate.

Political analyst Kimberely Tariro Mamhende said, “MDC Alliance led by President Nelson Chamisa is still popular. Councillors elected under MDC Alliance are defying MDC T and are no-longer afraid to be fired from council.”

In addition, politicak analyst Tariro Kimberely Mamhende said, “Zanu PF and MDC T led by Khupe agreed to postpone elections due to covid-19 because they fear to be embarrassed through defeat by MDC Alliance led by President Nelson Chamisa in free and fair elections.”

“Congrats to our remaining Cllrs in Gwanda for defeating the Zanu-PF backed Mwonzora rebellion team. We secured the Mayorship against all the odds. Thanks to our Provincial Leadership and our National Local Gvt Secretary Hon Zvidzai.”

MDC T led by Khupe has been winning court cases but lossing elections such as Harare Mayoral elections won by advocate Mafume of MDC Alliance
