By A Correspondent- The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works has unleashed Zanu PF affiliated former council officials on 32 urban councils to conduct what it called an audit on the local authorities’ operations.
The team of Zanu PF affiliated former council officials were hired after July Moyo, the Local Government Minister had said that he was not happy with how MDC-Alliance led councils were managing cities and towns.
“I sent a team of ex-town clerks, ex-directors of works, treasurers, senior planners and human resources practitioners, but who know about local authorities.
“They started in Victoria Falls and I was telling the mayor that the team reported that they found the most uncooperating officers in that area. In a lot of cases they cooperated,” he said.
