By A Correspondent-Media Institute of Southern Africa- Zimbabwe Chapter this year held its provincial belated World Press Freedom Day Commemorations in rural areas where it was taking stock of how rural communities were accessing information.

The belated World Press Freedom Day commemorations were held yesterday throughout the country.

MISA-Harare Advocacy committee held its event at Mungate shopping centre in Domboshava where villagers raised concern over delays by the government to licence community radio stations.

Locals said their area was lagging behind developmental programs because of limited access to information.

The villagers said they wanted the government to establish a community radio in their area so that they could discuss issues that concern their area.

The meeting was attended by village heads, church leaders, local political leadership women and youths.
