Policemen, Soldier Die In Horrific Bulawayo Road Accident

By A Correspondent- Two members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police and a Soldier have died in a head-on collision along Harare Bulawayo road.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the accident happened Sunday morning and also claimed the lives of two civilians.

The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident at the 366 km peg along Hre-Byo road near Kombo area, Fort Rixon where a Mitsubishi minibus had a head-on collision with a Nissan UD truck on 26/09/21 at 0300 hours.
All the five occupants in the minibus, who include two ZRP members, a ZNA member and yet to be identified male adult died in the unfortunate road accident. More details to follow.

Reports of road accidents have been on the surge in recent years with the sorry state of the roads cited as one of the factors contributing.
This year, President Emmerson Mnangagwa declared all roads a state of emergency saying it pains to see so many potholes on once-great highways.

The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA), a government department under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, has been failing to maintain roads amid reports of grand corruption at the department.
