An AI company has launched an app called “Death Clock,” designed to predict the exact day you’ll pass away. The app has quickly gained popularity, amassing 125,000 downloads since its release in July, with membership subscriptions starting at $10.

According to Bloomberg, the app is powered by AI and trained on a dataset of over 1,200 life expectancy studies, which includes data from approximately 53 million participants. The concept behind the app is that by knowing your predicted date of death, you can take proactive steps to improve your health and lifestyle—such as exercising, eating better, sleeping more, and managing stress.

However, one question remains: How relevant is this app to Africans and Zimbabweans? The dataset it was trained on primarily includes research from Americans and Europeans, which may not reflect the specific health patterns and lifestyle factors of people in other regions.

Despite this, the app has sparked debate about whether users would be willing to download it and use it as a tool for enhancing their well-being. Would you take the plunge and install the “Death Clock”?
