First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has triggered outrage among concerned believers following her visit to the Johane Masowe Shrine in Chiweshe last Friday. Many saw her visit as an unwelcome intrusion, particularly due to her prominent position and the church’s traditional values.

In a statement after her visit, Mrs. Mnangagwa expressed pride in her religious upbringing. She said, “Believers are required to uphold the integrity of God’s word and adhere to its precepts. I’m pleased with my upbringing and religious foundation. This last Friday, I was able to visit the church where I grew up, Johane Masowe eChishanu Chinhevere Shrine in Chiweshe, to meet some of the old and new members and spread the gospel to fellow believers.”

She added, “In an effort to strengthen my ties to my community and the spiritual leaders in my hometown of Chiweshe, I had been routinely attending services at Johane Masowe eChishanu. I shared the special times I had when I first started praying at a tender age and my dedication to the church that helped shape my morals.”

Despite her words, many have branded her visit as hypocritical, questioning the authenticity of her actions. Critics have pointed out the disconnect between her statements and the wider political context.

In response to Mnangagwa’s remarks, some citizens expressed their anger. One irate individual said, “Liars and hypocrites in white garments, whilst your hearts are darker than charcoal.” Another citizen angrily added, “Actually, they’re Satanists in white garments.”

The backlash continues to grow as people voice their frustration over the perceived insincerity of her actions.
