Matutu Shortlisted For ZACC Post

Tongai Matutu, former Movement for Democratic Change Masvingo Provincial secretary, and Justice Mayor Wadyajena, Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator, have been shortlisted for public interviews for commissioner at the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC). Zarelah Makali, former Member of Parliament for Epworth, is also among the shortlisted candidates.

The selection process for ZACC commissioners involves rigorous vetting, including public interviews, to ensure appointees possess integrity and relevant administrative experience . The Constitution stipulates that ZACC members must be chosen for their integrity and knowledge of administration.

Shortlisting Process

  1. Public Nominations: The Committee on Standing Rules and Orders invites public nominations for ZACC commissioners.
  2. Vetting: A thorough screening process is conducted to assess candidates’ suitability.
  3. Public Interviews: Shortlisted candidates undergo public interviews.
  4. Final Selection: The Committee submits a list of nominees to the President for appointment.
