In a dramatic and firm response, Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa has threatened to take action against war veteran Blessed Geza after he publicly criticized President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s attempt to infringe upon Zimbabwe’s Constitution.

This came in light of comments made by Geza that appeared to challenge Mnangagwa’s leadership and political maneuvers.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Mutsvangwa sharply condemned Geza’s remarks, branding them as “outlandish, treasonable and egregious rantings.”

He claimed that the comments violated the core principles of Zanu PF and were a direct affront to the discipline expected of members of the party’s Central Committee.

Mutsvangwa also accused Geza of attempting to undermine the integrity of war veteran entities that remain loyal to Zanu PF, referring to the actions as reckless and detrimental to the party’s unity.

Mutsvangwa’s statement read:

“The outlandish, treasonable and egregious rantings of errant Runesu Geza offended the hallowed tenets of Party Discipline for a Member of the Central Committee.”

Furthermore, Mutsvangwa warned that the relevant party organs were already investigating the matter and would swiftly take action to address the violation.

The Zanu PF spokesperson emphasized that the party’s commitment to supporting President Mnangagwa was unwavering, and all members should remain loyal to the party’s resolutions and the Constitution.

He added:
“The Department of Information assures the Party membership of absolute loyalty of the rank and file supporters to President Mnangagwa and that they retain full confidence of the full and legal implementation of Resolution #1 of the Oct 2024 Bulawayo Conference under the aegis of the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe.”
