By Own Correspondent| The European Union ambassador to Zimbabwe, Philippe Van Damme has urged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to clarify on election modalities as a way of building confidence and transparency on the upcoming harmonised polls.
Ambassador Van Damme urged stakeholders to continuously engage and dialogue through open communication in order to combat speculation as the country heads towards the watershed polls set to be held on July 30 2018.
Said Ambassador Van Damme in a tweet:
Only way to build confidence is transparency through open communication & dialogue with @ZECzim ; in my understanding @ZECzim agrees with traceability of ballot paper printing & deployment & with external audits. But modalities still need to be clarified with political parties. https://t.co/R7TbYRShY0

Not “caught” assuming, but assuming, and inviting political parties to test that assumption with @ZECzim or vice versa @ZECzim to reach out to them to confirm that assumption?. Move from speculation to dialogue not with me but relevant stakeholders)! https://t.co/QApHcmprQ9
