The country’ s main opposition party has taken three independent candidates in Chiredzi to court for using the party logo without due approval.

Briefing reporters last week, MDC Provincial Spokesperson Dust Zivhave said the three were obstructing party activities in Chiredzi.The three are Simbarashe Baloyi, Gift Chigidi and Elias Manjeru.

“When one becomes an independent candidate then one ceases to be a party member.

As such the three independent candidates must respect the party constitution,” said Zivhave.

“The trio’ s actions have resulted in confusion.They are using the brand to market themselves- which is in procedural,” added Zivhave.
