Terrence Mawawa|The mayor of the city of Harare, Councillor Herbert Gomba has dismissed claims that the government funded the rehabilitation of roads in the capital city.
Below is his statement: ” As I was arguing with someone on Facebook I got to know that the contractor on Thursday sent out his invoice to City of Harare seeking payment, I will in the interest of citizen participation in governance post the request on invoice to set the record and move people away from the billboard.
Beyond this we will continue to do more road works ,currently the city is looking at injecting $5 mill from its capital projects funds to repair roads .The council has used $12 million to procure roads, refuse and service equipment from the $30 million facility, to capacitate our numerous departments, which are at the forefront of our transformational agenda.
