By Own Correspondent| SA FM has claimed that contrary to reports that Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is at Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital in South Africa, the former army general is not being treated at the health institution.
In a tweet issued today, Monday, the radio station claimed that VP Chiwenga is not seeking medical attention at the Cape Town health centre.
Earlier today, Zimbabweans in South Africa held demonstrations at Groote Schuur Hospital where Chiwenga was reportedly airlifted on Saturday in what government sources described as a “medical emergency.”
However, SA FM said Western Cape Health Department confirmed Chiwenga was not being treated at Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital.
Said SA FM:
Western Cape Health Department confirms Zimbabwe’s Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga is not being treated at Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital. A group of Zimbabwean nationals are protesting outside the hospital, calling for Chiwenga to go back home to receive treatment there.
