By Own Correspondent| Acting president of the MDC led by Nelson Chamisa who is the party’s Vice President Engineer Elias Mudzuri has distanced himself from two tweets regarding the party’s upcoming national elective congress.

In one of the tweets, Mudzuri, urged party cadres to respect the MDC constitution.

Said Mudzuri in the tweet:

“MDC must respect its Constitution- remove fear and factional divisions to enable members to elect a leader that will unite us and focus on ending suffering in Zimbabwe.”

MDC National spokesperson Jacob Mafume however dismissed the tweets revealing that they had not been generated by Mudzuri.

Said Mafume:

“Two tweets attributed to the Acting President Hon Elias Mudzuri pertaining the MDC Congress have been circulating.

The Acting President stated that he has not tweeted in a while and the tweets were not generated by him.

The MDC is a democratic party which is guided by it’s Constitution, as such the Congress will be held in line with it’s provisions.

Hon Mudzuri has placed it upon himself to investigate the source of the tweets.”
