By Jane Mlambo| Following an expose or should we call it whistleblowing by Zanu PF Youths League leaders Lewis Matutu and Godfrey Tsenengamu, the party’s highest decision making body has decided to suspend the duo for breaching party procedures.

While the duo made it clear that they were addressing the media in their individual capacities and not representing the party, the politburo still found them in breach of party procedures.

Despite the fact that they named persons who are outside the ruling party namely Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Tafadzwa Musarara and Billy Rautenbach, the politburo still regarded their actions against the spirit of unity in Zanu PF.

The duo’s action also falls in line with what President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been preaching to anyone who bothers to listen that he abhors corruption in all its forms but the politburo still found them guilty and deserving punishment.

Now, the second point raised in this piece about the duo tackling corruption happening outside the party but still being found guilty only confirms that there are powerful forces who are calling the shots in the party.

And if anyone had doubts about state capture by powerful business people, then this is just a clear confirmation.

The fact that Zanu PF had to act on the duo’s call for end to corruption clearly shows the lack of tact in handling such matters. The late former President Robert Mugabe for all his weaknesses understood the art of power and deceit and would have acted differently- perhaps find some long held charges against the two.

Many people have repeatedly asked about the power behind the two boys courage to face off powerful people of Billy Rautenbach and Kudakwashe Tagwirei and there was a general agreement that they had some backing from higher echelons of power.

While we may agree that there are power tussles happening in Zanu PF, the duo’s fate obviously could have been as a result of attacking the benefactor of one faction they might not belong to.

And that clearly confirms one thing, STATE CAPTURE!!
