By Own Correspondent| According to the Young Journalists Association (YOJA), a female journalist Mary Taruvinand who works for New Zimbabwe was this morning forced to toyi-toyi by soldiers enforcing lockdown in Harare Central Business District.
This is against the fact that journalists are classified as part of essential services and have been cleared to work.
“Journalist forced to “toyi toyi” by soldiers, police officers
@NewZimbabweCom reporter Mary Taruvinga was this Friday morning forced to “toyi toyi” by soldiers & a police officer manning a checkpoint at Cnr. Samora Machel & 4th Street,” said YOJA on Twitter.
Police yesterday warned people to stay at home during the easter holidays.
This follows concerns from the security forces that people were not observing lockdown orders amid increase in traffic and human movement in the CBD of Harare.
