The MDC Alliance party led by Nelson Chamisa has won the Gwanda Mayoral elections defeating a candidate sponsored by a rival camp led by Thokozani Khupe.

This was revealed by party Secretary General Charlton Hwende on Twitter.

“Congrats to our remaining Cllrs in Gwanda for defeating the Zanu-PF backed Mwonzora rebellion team. We secured the Mayorship against all the odds. Thanks to our Provincial Leadership and our National Local Gvt Secretary Hon Zvidzai,” said Hwende.
