By A Correspondent- The Zanu PF led government has of late been diverting the people’s attention by celebrating MDC defections instead of turning around the economy.

The country’s economy continues to deteriorate despite Mnangagwa’s said efforts to improve people’s standards of living.

Employment on the other hand has become useless as the few that have remained at work earning slave wages which are way below the poverty datum line.

Speaking to NewsDay Sunday, the Zimbabwe Congress Of Trade Unions president Peter Mutasa Mnangagwa’s should be realistic.
“It is either the President is out of touch with the lived experiences of workers and the poor, or he is being misinformed. Life is terrible for workers and clearly, the Mugabe era was far better for workers than this era,” Mutasa said.

“His (Mnangagwa) government has implemented policies that hurt workers more than at any particular moment in the independent State.

“Workers are enslaved and starving and no amount of words can change this. We need immediate remedial action that ensures that workers earn US dollars or US dollar-based salaries commensurate with how prices of goods and services are increasing,” he said.
